    Dynasty History

    The Legacy began as a single dynasty shortly after the release of NCAA 2009 headed by Archie Griffin and known as the OFFL. Founded on the principles of simulation style play, a group of members from the now defunct Over 30 Club were introduced midway through 2008. Shortly before the release of NCAA 2010, the Gray Hair Online Dynasty joined with the OFFL to give us the OFFL West. I myself then took over the OFFL West as the other factions faded away throughout NCAA 10. We then became the Legacy. As for NCAA 12 the league has now become an official TSO Premier League. We strive for excellence every season and look to do the same thing for the entire NCAA 12 football season.

    At the core of the rule list are the never changing philosophical beliefs of the Tradition Football Community. We expect all users to play a simulation style of video game football. Good sportsmanship, honesty, and respect for your fellow users is expected from everyone at all times. We are all here to have fun and play a video game. Respect your opponent and have fun with it. Violations of any rules or any poor conduct are grounds for removal from this dynasty. Full forum participation is the vital action to a successfully dynasty and will be pushed hard by myself and others to hinder A successful season of NCAA 11 football. My promise to you is that you will not find another Commissioner out there dedicated to bringing the most sim dynasty from everything to IN DEPTH Record and results keeping to forum content and a fun exciting league. We will knock out 10+ seasons, hopefully many more, and hope to have sim dedicated members along with us for the ride. Thanks to TSO leadership for giving us the premier status and opportunity to really take this league to the ultimate level.

    Team Selections: Based on the founding principals of the OFFL/Legacy and our goal of having an immersive league experience, and with history and interaction between teams (both on-field and recruiting) as one of the core components of this experience, switching teams is strongly discouraged. We encourage new members to select a team they want to manage for the remaining duration of the NCAA 2012 release. The dynasty is set in three BCS conferences.. The Big Ten, The SEC, and the Pac-12. Should a member have desire and a strong argument for changing teams, these moves will require approval of the commissioner. The commissioner will weigh the request based on the long-term good and continuity of the league, as well as the member's resume AND past (don't expect to have a bad year / run a team into the ground/ have no activity and start fresh with a top 10 team). If a team change request is granted (most likely only within own conference), under no circumstances will a second team change be allowed.

    Legacy Dynasty Rules: NCAA 12

    Autopilot Rules: Users must play their games and must recruit their players, not the CPU. Autopilot is not an alternative to showing up. However, we do realize that members will travel from time to time.

    Vacation/Absence: If you are going to be gone for more than a few days, let your commissioner know so he can put you on autopilot and simulate your activities as to not hold the rest of the dynasty up.

    Advances: Advance times will be posted by the commissioner in the forums. We will typically allow 3 days between advances, unless all games and recruiting are finished sooner. Because this league is intended for "mature" members, and we realize that most of us have more important obligations to pop up from time to time, we will attempt to be reasonably flexible with the advance dates with proper notice. If NCAA 11 was any indication we rarely take all 3 days but you will always have 72 hours so do not feel rushed if you are busy. Extensions will be granted on a RARE basis. We want to knock out as many season as possible in NCAA 11.

    Online Status: Some people keep their XBL status hidden so that they always appear offline. However for several reasons, we require that you set your status to "Online" so that you are visible while you play your games in this dynasty.

    User Games: Make the effort on the boards to contact your opponent to schedule and play the game as soon as possible. If a reasonable effort to contact your opponent is not made before the day of advance, the game will be simulated or the user who did make an effort will be allowed to play the CPU.

    Game Play Settings:

    Players Leaving: A player cannot be persuaded to stay if he fits any of these 3 criteria:
    1. Overall is 95 or Higher
    2. Has Finished Top 5 in Hiesman Voting
    3. Junior or Sophmore (RS) who has on any major award

    Substitutions: The Legacy expects users to keep their rosters together as they would be in real life. Keep players in their positions. The Legacy is open to individualized situations. If you have a question, post or contact your commissioner.

    Position Changes (Offseason): Changes in position will only be allowed in the offseason. If a special situation comes up, contact your commissioner and let them know. All position changes must be posted in the forums. Most importantly, size and speed must match up when moving a player to a new position. Follow these guidelines:

    Package substitutions: Are allowed and are not to be abused.

    ---Rotating QB’s: If you have a good passing QB and a good running QB and would like to use both, ensure you only switch them out when you change possessions. Alternating quarterbacks between plays is not allowed. This is only allowed if you are on the Mic with your opponent and let them know before every possession.

    Game Play (General): Wide Receivers and Tight Ends should be the main target for the passing game, Running Backs should not. Users should mix up playcalling. Offensive audibles may be used as long as no more than one player moves laterally.

    Running Game: You should not be running outside EVERY play our bouncing inside runs outside FREQUENTLY, especially with speedy backs. This is a AI logic issue that allows almost every run to be bounced outside successfully. Also watch the late pitches on options.

    Playcalling: You should be mixing your play calling all game, do not run out of the same formation on offense every play nor call the same 2-3 plays all game.

    QB Scrambling You should only run with the QB if it is a designed run play (option, roll out). Rolling out to the sidelines instantly does not work well with the CPU coverage logic and Is cheese. You should also not be excessively running with the QB. If you are being pressured rolling out is fine but this should not be your style of passing on offense.

    QB Scrambling: Unrealistic QB scrambling/sprinting is frowned upon on pass plays, including screens. Constantly dancing from sideline to sideline, running straight backwards or well behind the line of scrimmage without being under pressure is not realistic. This does not include option plays, designed QB runs or broken/pressured play situations. DO Not sprint out to find better passing angles, and do not run to the sideline and pass if there is no pressure.

    Examples of unrealistic QB scrambling include:

    1. Sprinting backwards and/or to the sidelines off the play action fake. Rolling out of the QB is allowed, however this should be done without sprinting. Faulty AI on the defense causes defenders to break coverage nearly as soon as a QB leaves the pocket while sprinting and as we all know, QB’s throw on the run far more effectively in this game then they should.
    2. Sprinting backwards during a normal dropback is prohibited.
    3. Sprinting to the sidelines on a normal pass play that is not designed to be a rollout pass should only occur if there is pressure from the defense or you have waited 2-3 seconds in the pocket and no receivers are open. On a designed rollout pass should not be done, a normal rollout should be performed using the non-sprint QB running. If a QB sprints from the pocket, you should run the ball, not sprint out to throw the ball.
    4. Calling a normal pass play and then immediately running with the QB is considered unrealistic QB scrambling. If you want to run the QB, call an option play.

    No Huddle: COMING SOON

    4th Downs: o avoid all arguments this season 4th downs will not be allowed at ALL in the first half unless you are in your opponents territory and it is 4th and 1 or shorter. If you are losing by 14 or more in the 3rd QTR you may go for it in your opponents territory ONLY, unless it is 4th and 1 or less. In the 4th QTR you pay go for it at anytime if you are losing.

    Goal Line Formation: Keep it to real life situations. Short yardage (2 yards or less), red zone, deep in your own territory (Inside the 10 yard line), etc.

    Disconnects: Download NCAA 12 to your 360. . If you do happen to get a freeze or disconnect, immediately contact your user opponent via a message on XBL or headsets. It will be between the users to replay the game. Any special circumstances need to be brought to the attention of the commissioner. Post on the message boards as well, for clarification.

    Restarts: Restarts against CPU opponents will not be tolerated. The game will most likely be tossed and simmed. It will be my judgement on the outcome. If you repeat offend this rule you will be hit with recruiting sanctions. Starting this season if you have a restart DO NOT replay the game. Contact me first. If you don't have proof (Photo, human to vouch for you) don't expect to be allowed to replay it unless it is your first offense. I know shit happens but I was lien-ant with this last year and wont be anymore. Expect a sim if you come without proof.

    Complaints about opponent's play: No Public Battles in the forums! First pause the game and speak to your opponent about it, we are all mature here and can handle this, if all else fails Contact the commissioner of your dynasty through private messages if any situations arise. Save game footage if necessary to show how your opponent was playing. No games will be thrown out with proper proof. If a game is asked to be thrown out this will only happen after review from our team of commissioners.

    Notes on CPU games: Treat your CPU opponents with the same respect that you treat your user opponents. Blowouts happen, but there is a scoring cap of 65 points with one caveat: you may always win by 21 points. If you go over the scoring cap, the game result will be thrown out and the game will be simmed. There is no exception to this rule. If you are up big in the 4th on the CPU, rest your star players and chew the clock. You will avoid injuries and even build up your sportsmanship rating (if you care). By playing younger players, you have the chance for them to gain in-season progression, and the chance that they progress well is also increased.

    Agressive GamePlans and Run/Pass Commit: The Following Aggressive Game plans are BANNED:
    Big Hit
    Defensive Line
    Holding Blocks
    Impact Blocks
    Big Run

    Everything else Including Run Commit and Pass Commit are fair game. All Conservative settings are allowed.

    Recruiting: (WILL BE UPDATED FOR NCAA 12)
    Penalties may (and most often will) be held over until the start of the following season at the commissioner's discretion. If you go over your 5 star limits the punishment will be decided by the Commish based on the severity of the violation.

    -If you go over 1 5 star on the limit you will be allowed NO 5 stars the following season.
    -If you go over 2 or more 5 stars you will be forced to cut any extra 5 star and lose ALL 5 stars the following season.
    -If you got over the 70 man roster you will lose 10 hours of Recruiting per infraction and/or 5 star scholarships. (judgment made by commish)

    -No over-signing. You may not go over 70 players at any time.
    -No Cuts (we will sim through this step)

    - We will have to 70 roster man limit, No going over 70 at any point in the season.
    - You may sign no more than THREE 5 stars for the first season

    - NO Limit on 4 stars or Below

    In the legacy rather than taking a week to get through an offseason we schedule one night for every member to log on and knock out the offseason tasks. We usually try to find a night where everyone is available, if you cannot make it you can always find another member on this site to sub for you. Also It is encouraged to be on your Mic throughout the night so we can be on the same page when it comes to advances and Position change questions. Transfers and Cuts will be simmed during the offseason night.

    Forum Activity
    You will be required to at the LEAST

    -Post the score and a few lines about your game (cpu or user) in the given weekly thread.
    -Post every recruit that you sign.

    If you do not have the time to do these simple things you should not join this league. It does not take much time at all. You will receive 2 warning's on lack of participation in the forums. If I have to give you a 3rd you will be removed because you are not active enough for this league. We also encourage every member to generate some type of forum content. This is what makes leagues great and will help our league thrive for years of dynasty.

    You are expected to show complete respect to your Commish and all league members. We are all mature adults and this is not the place for unsportsmanlike conduct. Trash talk is not encouraged and keep it light if you do. Always respect your opponent after beating and losing to them. Breaking this rule will result in immediate removal from this league.

    Since these rules are preset from NCAA 11 expect changes. All changes will be posted in this thread and dated so everyone can read them.
