Longer quarters w/accelerated clock, or 7 min quarters w/out accelrated clock? Which do YOU prefer?

    This is similar to the All Madden versus All Pro debate I created... Let me preface this discussion with the statement that by no means does this thread indicate that the league is changing the current quarter format that we are currently playing at. Nor does it mean that we will never change the format. However, a change would only occur if we (you and the rest of the owners in the league) agree collectively that a change is in the best interest for the league which, in turn, would ultimately need to be approved by Eddie and me. The only way that Eddie and I would approve such a change is if we feel it would improve the league. At this point there has not been any indication that there is a need for a change, so the only reason why I am creating this thread is to encourage some discussion among fellow league members. As with the All Madden versus All Pro thread, you are not required to participate in the discussion. However, the only way your opinions will be heard is if you produce a response. So speak up now or forever hold your peace. Most importantly, we only want to see healthy, constructive discussion here. If you disagree with someone's opinion, fine. Provide some constructive criticism or don't respond at all. Try to persuade those who oppose your position to agree with you by using evidence (stats, videos, etc.) or past experiences as a tool versus lashing out with a useless response. I just like to get a feel for what everyone else thinks about the topic. Commence discussion...

    8 min quarters with acc clock ......this way we can control the 4th quarter just like a real nfl football game.7 minutes with no acc ties your hands late in the 4th.

    If we are accelerating the quarters, 8 minutes is way too little. We need 10 minutes at least. It's already hard enough to run a decent amount of plays per game.


    I say leave it as is....

    I agree. I already think you are extremely limited by the amount of plays you can run. However, adding any time will make the game that much longer in real time.

    I'm for keeping it as is, i absolutely hate accelerated clock because it limits pre snap reads and audibles

    I think I agree with this. Sometimes I make audibles at the line if I don't like what the defense is showing me. It would be very hard to do that or to use motion in your offense.

    but that's similar to real life as well guys...you can make an audible or a few hot routes ... i think 9-10 mins with accel clock is more fun imo...

    i agree with curtis,it limits the pre snap reads and audibles,keep it 7 min no accel
