LSU Tigers 2010 and beyond, game notes and recruiting news.

    Week 1

    LSU at Tulane

LSU dominated from the get go. The running game and D would lead the way.

Two pick sixs would ruin Tulanes upset bid, and a grinding ground attack would put them away.

LSU moves to 1-0 and awaits Nebraska.

LSU pounds Nebraska on the strength of the D and running game.

Our senior RB isnt that fast and he isnt that big but he is damn good at churning out yards.

He carried the day while our D was very stout against a good Nebraska team on both sides of the ball.

The Nebraska coach mentioned a lack of overall talent but when we looked over that roster they were loaded at every position and only lacked upperclassman at S where they had a couple of mid 80s starters if I am not mistaken.

Very good team and a really nice W for the Tigers at home 34-7.

LSU drops the hammer on the men from Troy.

Troy mustered zero offensive TDs and scored 21 points. They are tricky and have two impact returners which helps.

Our STs coach has been reassigned...

Two KRs and one pick six...

On to the game Jr QB Jefferson was on his game and led the O to a nice day passing.

The ground game came through when called upon and that wasnt that often.

This game was never in doubt and the Tigers improve to 3-0 with a convincing 56-21 win at home.

I cant wait to play the next game with this team..lots o fun.

:3stars: K Ryan Hudson...he is a K so who cares. Good leg with B pwr.

:4stars: DE James Williams Pass rush specialist, needs a redshirt season to be ready but he was a find with B sp and ability to get to the passer.

:4stars: OLB Garrett McNair This kid is a flat out stud, fast and big he may be a starter next season, thats the talent this kid has.

:4stars: OLB Travis Graves Another talented OLB comes to Death Valley, either he or McNair will redshirt or start. Who comes in more ready to see the field?

:4stars: CB Dennis Washington a need spot for us and we landed this kid. He has skill to play right away but depending on who leaves or stays he will most likely redshirt. His A - speed and man coverage is nice.

:5stars: WR Erik Cooley #1 WR in this class and a stud will most likely redshirt due to LSU's depth at this spot. He has all the tools.

:5stars: RB Paul Thomas a likely starter or first off the pine RB for us next year. Ultra talented but could use a Redshirt to bring all the skills to the surface. Bonus recruit.

:4stars: FS Thomas Cantrell To me the best and most talented DB in this years class and with his ratings should have been a five star player. He has it all, size, speed A-, smarts C+ awr and B- play recog, tackling abilty B+ and and he will knock you out with B+ hit power. He is my protype safety and was our #1 player from day one. He can also cover with B- man and zone ability there are no holes in this kids game.

:4stars: TE Cedric Mason This was a huge need for us and he fits what we do perfectly, size and speed and the abilty to catch and block in the pass and run game. He is a do it all TE and signed with us opening weekend.

This is a small class but we made it matter. We only looked for need spots and landed the players we wanted at each of them. We had two RBs on our board and got the one bonus player which allowed us to land Cooley. We are very pleased to come out of this season with this talented group of players.
