LSU @ UNC The Tigers came into this game with a huge chip on their shoulders. After a demoralizing 5 loss season last year, LSU is hungry to prove to the big boys that they belong back at the top of the BCS discussion. With a new offense installed this offseaon, the Tigers wanted to focus more on big plays, and the unique talents they have at certain positions. They got them in the 1st half. The game started with a nice UNC drive into LSU territory, spearheaded by running and passing to Sophomore HB Clancy. The drive bogge down and UNC settled for a FG. LSU started their first drive testing UNC with some runs with Ford and then popped a huge pass to TE TC McCartney, grandson of former Colorado coach Bill McCartney... it was huge 67 yard catch and run as the nimble TE got single up on a Carolina LB and beat him badly. UNC then came back and started moving hte ball again, but then with their QB under heavy pressure, a ball is thrown up the middle of the field for a WR and the LSU true freshman FS picks it off and takes it to the house. Carolina answered back with another drive that featured Clancy in all aspects of the offens, running - catching - He has become the man in NC it seems. A TD this time would pull the Tarheels back to 10-14 and still hanging around. LSU would answer back quickly though, with a WR screen to the other Tolliver.. the Junior WR would take the pass 39 yards all the way down to the Carolina 1. Ford would punch it from there on 2nd down. 21-10 LSU. Carolina would answer back with a nice drive, but again, it stalled in Tiger territory after a sack put the 'heels in long down and distance. They added a FG though and stayed in the game 21-13. But the new look LSU offense would light up the scoreboard again, this time Senior QB Jordan Jefferson would do it with his feet... scampering 50+ yards on an option keeper for another Tiger TD. You could feel the shock in the Carolina stadium, this was suppose to be a nip and tuck defensive battle, but the Tiger were looking unstoppable on offense today. Carolina went to the passing game, trying to stay close to LSU and that's when the Tigers nickle back Taylor stepped in front of a short pass and took it to the house with 2 minutes left in the half making the score 35-13 LSU. On the next drive, Bly's connection dropped. I waited for a while, and then i finished up against the CPU. 56-29 was the final score. GG Bly, nice to get some revenge for the last meeting. LSU now has a game against in state rival Tulane at the SuperDome, then they start conference play against Miss. St.
