Ravens squeeze by the Bengals 31-25 A typical showdown between UofCWildcat and myself, a lot of crazy plays and it coming down to the end. 6 sacks from the Ravens defense helped keep pressure on Andy Dalton and force bad throws all day. Both teams pretty evenly matched but Dalton's 2 interceptions and the Bengals few key fumbles helped the Ravens squeeze one out and continue to stay ahead in the division. GG Ryan
Ravens win in Chicago 30-19 to set up the Week 12 GOTW, between the 7-3 Jets ( The Rulah ) after their beatdown in Buffalo, sponsored by the Tradition Broadcast Network. In a game that was close until the fourth quarter, the Ravens pull away with the victory. The Ravens ground game picks up over 100 yards and only allowing 39 yards on the ground for the Bears. The costly turnovers from the Bears really kept them out of this game, having at least 4 fumbles. Joe Flacco and Jay Cutler couldn't find the deep ball on several open chances down the field. GG Roggie and GL
-- Live From Jersey Where Hoffa is Buried or maybe not Bouncing back from a sim loss against the iggles, the Pack came to the east coast with a point to prove and that they did. Overall, they forced 6 turnovers (5 INT and 1 FF). 2 of the INT's were turned into touchdowns. Eli had a rough go of it today. Rodgers faired slightly better with 2 TD's 0 INT's and 165 yards. Starks finished with over 100 yards on the ground GG LSUWhoDat78 like my text said, I've been on the games where i turnover the ball 6 times ---
The Rams win their second game of the year against coach Roggie and his Bears. St Louis only had 7 points at halftime, but their offense, led by QB Kellen Clemons and RB Zac Stacy, exploded in the second half. The defense struggled to get any pressure on Jay Cutler, and Brandon Marshall continuously burned CB Jannoris Jenkins, but they did forced several field goals in the red zone thanks to a couple drops. The Bears never had a chance for a game-winning drive, as Stacy and the Rams were able to run the clock out when they got the ball back with a little under 3 minutes left. GG man.
Defensive Slugfest Goes to Chargers First Quarter: It was all Chargers. The defense came up with turnovers and then punched it in themselves. Coming into the game the defense knew that Alex Smith could run the read option well and played it pretty well for the most part. On a Kansas City drive they came out in shotgun and tried to pull a read option with Alex Smith. OLB Elvis Dummervil and gang was ready for it. Off of an overloaded blitz on the left side OLB Larry English came through hitting Smith and forcing the ball to come out. While everyone started diving for the ball Dummervil picked it up and took to the house. Second Quarter: After another controlling quarter by the Chargers, Kansas City broke free with two big plays before halftime. AJ Jenkins got both TDs as he used he speed and perfect routes to get behind the defense. The big blow came right before halftime as FS Erice Weedle had decent coverage on Jenkins but with a great pass from Smith it was off to the races. San Diego had a chance to make it a 14-13 ball game but K Nick Novak missed a 30 yard FG wide left, the wind was blowing roughly 7 MPH to the east. Halftime: San Diego- 10 Kansas City- 14 with the Chiefs receiving the ball Third Quarter: Coming off a hot quarter Kansas City was forced to punt the ball on their opening drive. The Chargers could not do much either as both defenses were on point. Along the quarter there were turnovers, and penalties that became costly but after a Donnie Avery TD the game looked to be slipping from the Chargers' hands. With missing two FGs already Nick Novak was able to put one through the uprights. The score going into the 4th Quarter was San Diego-13 Kansas City- 21. Fourth Quarter: Out of all the quarters this was the toughest for both teams. Both had multiple injuries, big plays, stupid plays, and plays that made this game a very good one. Trailing by 8 Philip Rivers marched his team down the field twice to score two TDs. All of these drives were setup with a balanced attack and the ability to block DT Dontari Poe. Poe was slicing through the OL all day but finally Coach Saw had an answer for him. HB Ryan Matthews and HB Andre Brown pounded the rock just enough for Rivers to finish everything up. The first TD came on a big 3rd Down in the redzone. WR Kenaan Allen was left by himself in an one on one coverage. Rivers noticed and took advantage. Even though the coverage was great Rivers got the ball to Allen and he came down with it. With the lead still in the Chiefs hands the Chargers got another huge stop to force another punt. Again Brown and Matthews got them down the field and Rivers finished. This time disaster struck... A huge holding call came on 2nd Down pushing the Bolts back to their 44. With the way both defenses were playing it was going to be a hard task to get another first down and extend the drive. WR Danario Alexander came up with a big TD. The 6'5" body was able to break off a perfect comeback route on the outside and with a high throw from Rivers he was able to snag it out of the air and run it in for a TD. After the completion of a 2-Point Conversion this would put Kansas City in a 10 point hole. Once Alex Smith went down with a broken jaw they could not muster the strength to comeback. Play of the Game: On the Chiefs side of the field San Diego decided to roll the dice and go for it on 4th and inches. The pick up by FB Mike Cox extended the drive for the Rivers-Allen TD. Player of the Game: LB Manti Te'o - 4 Tackles, 1 Tackle for Loss, 2 INTs, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 Fumble Recovery GG Mcwoods06! A very tough fought game and it will be an exciting rematch!
Stat of the Game: SF wins the turnover battle 3 to 5 over Washington in an exciting, yet sloppy game. Game was over when: Not until Colin Kaepernick connected with Vernon Davis on 3rd and 8 from the SF 9 with two minutes remaining in the game. The first down allowed SF to run the clock down and kick th egame winning FG. Otherwise, SF would have kicked and been up by 2 and given Washington nearly two minutes to score. Game Ball goes to: Frank Gore - 216 total yards, 3 TDs Highlights? Highlights: GG Matrix Monkey
Great Game sawemoff. It was definitely an ugly game. I knew you forced turnovers but I just realized you had 8 total turnovers. You LB's play big time. We have the return trip to San Diego circled on the calendar.
Raiders Squeak Out a 22-20 Win Against Titans The Raiders offense which is the top scoring offense in the league struggled today with Pryor errant all day on his throws and the Raiders WRs running wrong routes. Raiders were missing Denarious Moore which showed as Pryor and the WR couldn't get in sync throughout the game. The Raiders did rely on McFadden who showed up one again, but went out early with a concussion. The Raiders also sport the worst defense in the league in regards to yards did a decent job against the Titans offense, but Cj2k was able to break out with some big gains. The game was close throughout the game with neither team able to take control, a crucial mistake by the Titans late in the game essentially gave the Raiders a 2 point win due to a safety. In the 4th, the Raiders were forced to punt and kicked the ball towards the corner which probably would of landed onhe 2-4 yard line, but the Titans punt returner caught the ball going backwards in the field of play and momentum took him into the endzone for a safety. So with a two point lead, the Raiders looked to drive and get another score, but a fumble by howling gave the ball right back. The Titans eventually took the lead late with a FG to give them a 20-19 lead with about a minute left for the Raiders. Pryor who had struggled all game was able to complete passes and got the Raiders close to FG range and eventually did on a scramble to set up a game winning FG by Seabass for a 22-20 win. gg TEClemson53
Unfortunately ZCar352 and myself got disconnected for excessive grieving on his part (dumbest thing to call it by madden lol makes you think your opponent is pouting) but it was all New England in game at we wee up 31-3 at the half and defense was playing great especially Alphonzo Dennard who had two picks in the first half. I simmed the game after to give me the win, and try to prevent more injuries. New England climbed to one game over .500 at 6-5 and is finally starting to get healthy as Solder, Mankins and Hightower are all due back this week. Big game for us against the AFC South leading Texans.
Denver 38 Kansas City 31 Denver traveled to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs for the second time in 2 weeks and hoping this meeting would be different and it sure was. Both defenses came to play in the first half as they went into the half tied at 10. In the second half the Broncos were able to jump out to a 17-10 lead early but KC responded on the next drive to knot it back up at 17. However Denver scored again in the third on a check down to Ronnie Hillman who put a move on 2 defenders and walked in to give Denver a 24-17 lead heading to the 4th. After a Chiefs punt Montee Ball broke off a 67 yard touchdown run to push the lead to two scores 31-17 still early in the 4th. Denvers defense forced another Chiefs punt and on the first play of there next drive Manning hit Decker out of play action for a 58 yard touchdown...game over right? NOPE Kansas City came roaring back as the Chiefs offense ramped it up the Broncos couldnt stay on the field. With just over 2 minutes to go the Chiefs were down 38-31 with the ball and marching and got deeeeep into Denver territory but Jamaal Charles was hit and lost the ball and Denver was able to recover it and after a scare where Moreno diving down lost the ball but was able to recover ran the clock out to secure the win. Key stat in this one is 5 Turnovers for KC which could have been a lot worse had a lot of dropped picks but it was still one hell of a game..Great Game again Mcwoods06 Manning 17-32 343 Yards 4 TD 1 INT Montee 12 Att 112 Yards 1 TD Rodney Smith 5 Rec 159 Yards 2 TDs Chase Daniel 18-39 327 Yards 3 TD 2 INT Jamaal 24 Att 212 Yards 1 TD (2) Fumbles AJ Jenkins 8 Rec 146 Yards 2 TD
Bolts Take Out Bengals It was all Chargers this game. For some reason I really cannot remember much from this game except Phillip Rivers went 14/14 for 223 yards and 3 TDs. The rushing game once again stepped it up to make it easier for Rivers to throw. RBs Matthews, Brown and Tucker combined for 201 yards and 2 TDs. On another note Manti Teo caused the only turnover in the game with his 4th pick in two games. Now on a side note Wildcat: When you were talking about football- Marvin Lewis is a great coach it just sucks that they faced a red hot Chargers team in the 1st Round. Jerry Jones is an amazing marketer but I agree he is as shitty as they come trying to run it. When you were talking about baseball- Bud Selig's retirement has been way over due. Armando Galarrago should have had that perfect and Joyce knows it just like Selig. I have no clue who is Selig's predecessor but it cannot be any worse. Pete Rose should 10000000000% be in the HOF. If you compare him to some of these chumps taking steroids his betting habits never come close. More people need to forgive and just get him there! Also the HOF voters suck balls and they are ruining the HOF. Craig Biggio should have been a first ballot HOFer and I hope they do not fuck Chipper Jones when his time comes. Hmmm now I can't even remember what else you were talking about and I hope you were talking to someone and not to yourself! Anyways GG UofCWildcat!
1) Totally agree. I love Marvin but i feel the people in Cincy getting restless. I just hope him and Andy do well next season or else we're probably fucked for a year or two San Diego was a damn buzz saw. Kinda wish we played Miami now. 2) Glad I'm not alone. I'm not a huge Baseball follower but i know a few things. I had a buddy back at UC who was a huge Pete Rose fan. One night he beat the fuck out of someone cause they said he was shit. Didn't help he was plastered. But they need a change and I'm glad Selig will be gone. 3) Nah i was on IBO's show during the game. I'm not that insane GG man. Hoping i can get this train turned around cause it's starting to get beyond frustrating.
San Francisco moves to 11-1 on the season with a win over St. Louis. The 49ers played pretty simple football by using the 5 turnovers by the Rams to drive them to the 24-3 win. GG HarkTheSound not having Bradford hurts. Well played and best of luck. Stat of the Game: 1st Half - San Fran 24-0, 2nd Half St. Louis 3-0. It was over when: When FS Eric Reid popped Zac Stacy and caused a fumble, recovered by the SF D with minutes to play in the first half. Game Ball goes to: CB Carlos Rodgers - 2 tackles, 2 INTs Highlights!
GG Rich, my team just had no chance really. My defense played relatively well but I can't hope to compete against Patrick Willis and those boys right now, totally outclassed. Hopefully I'll be able to give you some better games down the road.
New England survives after a disastrous first half vs. Cleveland to win 34-21 behind Tom Brady and Brandon Spikes New England came into the game on a 5 game win streak, if New England wanted any hope of remaining in the playoff picture they would have to step up there play against the Browns. However, in the first half, what could go wrong did go wrong. Tom Brady threw his first INT since new owner took over. Stevan Ridley would fumble twice as would Shane Vereen and Evan Moore. New England would be able to hang around after 6, yes 6 first half fumbles! Evan Moore would make up for his fumble with two big touchdown grabs. Aaron Dobson, after the loss of Julian Edelman has stepped in as the number one guy and would haul in 6 catches for 152 yards and 1 TD. Defensively in the second half the defense would step up behind "The Predator" Brandon Spikes, who had 8 tackles 1 tfl, 2 FF. New England plays Miami next week and looks to remain in the playoff hunt. Danthraxxx Good good, a lot of turnovers on both sides, best of luck rest of the season.
GG MoonBBad in this intense NFC west showdown. Seattle outplays San Fran in the first half but lose the turnover battle 5-2 and ultimately the game. Stat of the Game: San Fran sticks to the plan with 38 rushing attempts for 232 yards. It was over when: Marshawn Lynch fumbled for the third time on the day and gives SF the ball back in the 4th. Player of the game: CB Carlos Rodgers 2 tackles, 2 INTs
Bills survive scare and keep playoff hopes alive The Bills came into Jacksonville as heavy favorites and had to fight until the end to earn their 10th win of the season. The jaguars needed only two plays to score to start the game as MJD took a screen pass to the house for an early 7-0 lead. EJ Manuel threw 2 picks on the Bills first two drives and Buffalo found themselves down 13-0 very early on. After cutting the lead to 13-10 EJ Manuel once again found the defense and this time it was returned for a td and a 20-10 Jag lead. The Bills marched down the field finding the endzone with a little over a minute left to cut it to 20-17. The Jags threw the ball 3 straight times all incompletions and with little time off the clock the Bills were able to get in FG range to tie it at 20 at thr break. The second half was all defense as no one found the end zone. The Bills got two long field goals from their young kicker and edged the Jags 26-23. Great game krtgolfing. You had me worried all game. GL to you in the future.
