We got off to a great start in this game up 14-0. We then lost Shady and D Jack for large portions of the ball game. It looks as if Jackson may be gone for the year on what looked like a routine play...he had a huge game. Penalties really hurt us as some huge holding calls and I believe 4 facemasks as well...The Vikings had at least two as well. Simply a great game however as the Vikings never gave up and took advantage of us not being able to turn them over. Toby Gerhart has a nice game pounding the middle on us..The Playbook on D needs to be changed and will be this offseason when we go back to the 4-3. In OT we drove down and had a first and goal at the ten wiped out by a hold so we hit a 49 yard FG. The Vikings crossed midfield and looked on their way to at least tie...but on a screen pass we crushed the QB and he fumbled and we held onto this one to seal the win. GG Baron
An enjoyable, back and forth game Big Suge Knight ... we were a bit sloppy with 8 turnovers between us, but you played well with your rookie QB and the Muscle Hamster is a menace out there. Looks like you have a good base to build off of. Stat of the Game: TB out gains SF by 60 yards and dominates time of possession by 10 mins, yet comes up just short in the end. It was over when: Jim Harbaugh pulled a a cheesy move by going for it on 4th and 4, up by 3 with 1:30 left in the game at their own 48 yard line. Kaepernick successfully kept the read option play to seal the game. Like I said after the game, I regret doing that. You earned a chance to win the game. Originally, my plan was to line up and try to pull you offside... I did the hard count and it looked like your DL jumped and I freaked and snapped it. Anyway, my bad... hope no hard feelings. Player of the Game: Colin Kaepernick - Stats weren't pretty, but made plays when needed. Highlights:
Dolphins Barely Survive In Snowy Buffalo The Miami Dolphins headed into the game as an underdog due to Buffalo having the better record respectively and weather conditions were favored for the Bills. With below freezing conditions and heavy snow, the Dolphins experienced how the game was going to look with the surrounding elements. Right away, Ryan Tannehill threw an interception to set the Bills up for an easy score, Fred Jackson one yard up the gut. Then again, in the first quarter, the Dolphins fumbled the ball to have Mario Williams scoop and score. Dolphins down 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. Finally, Tannehill gets a drive going with some key big runs to settle for a FG. Right after the score, EJ Manuel threw a bad pass to Jelani Jenkins for the pick sick. The weather had caused quite a few turnovers early and that seemed to be the main story of the whole game. Tannehill would throw a pick and the receiver would land a huge hit on the DB and cause a fumble to get the ball back. CJ Spiller was running all over the Dolphins and had no answer for him. Bills kneel the ball with the lead 14-10 at half time. The teams came out of the tunnel, joking around how bad the weather sucked and understood the stakes of the game. The Dolphins received ball after half and started moving the chains down the field and again Tannehill threw an interception but again Rishard Matthews laid a big hit on Duke Williams and Mike Wallace recovers giving the Dolphins another chance to score from behind. They drive and get a FG out of it. The third quarter, the Dolphins defense did great of stopping the potent Bills offense and getting the offense back on the field. Dolphins then score on a pass to Charles Clay where he never gave up on the play breaking tackles and stumbling only to balance himself and run in the endzone. Dolphins now lead 21-14. The fourth quarter had so many turnovers, fans thought the commentators were talking about dessert. Anyways the Dolphins head into the fourth, running the ball effectively in this harsh weather. Tannehill dropped back to pass but only to have a sack fumble for Jerry Hughes to score on. 21-21. Dolphins get the ball to only throw a pick to Nigel Bradham. 28-21 Bills. So then next drive, Coach Philbin gave Tannehill one more shot to drive down the field and get a score and once again he threw another pick. Matt Moore was then given a chance to shine. After a three and out for the Bills, the Dolphins received the punt and on the first play, Matt Moore throws a screen to Lamar Miller for 53 yards and the score. 28-28. Dolphins then knew the needed key stops on defense and Jelani Jenkins once again gets an interception which was his career high with 3 interceptions. Again Dolphins pounds the rock and Daniel Thomas finds the endzone for a 9 yard run. With the Bills down 35-28, EJ Manuel had a chance to make a name for himself and lead his team to tie the game but threw a pick to Ellerbe. Dolphins then controlled the game from that point on. Coach Philbin has announced that Tannehill will not start next week vs. Jets. Matt Moore has taken the reigns. There was a total of 13 turnovers, that's how sloppy the weather and game was. Players of the Game: Bills Offense: CJ Spiller (13 Car, 100 yds) in three quarters Dolphins Offense: Lamar Miller (27 Car, 79 yds, 2 Rec, 56 yds, 1 RecTD) Bills Defense: Marcell Dareus (12 TKL, 6 TFL, 1 SCK, 1 FF) Dolphins Defense: Jelani Jenkins (5 TKL, 1 TFL, 1 SCK, 3 INT, 1 TD) Good Game publik drunk
Browns came away with a big home win against the hated Steelers thanks to multiple turnovers, but for whatever reason I forgot to do a recap Good game nellycuz , we shall meet again here real soon !
Browns hang on to win at home vs. Jags Good game krtgolfing sorry for the crappy & delayed recap. I blame the server update I do recall the game being a fun one though , as both our QB's sucked balls lol. Hope you have enjoyed the 1st season here dude.
Browns defense pounds Jay Cutler ( NO HOMO ) This game was not too close , but the Bears did fight hard for the whole game. The Cleveland defense was all over a Forte-less Cutler , getting multiple sacks and hitting him early and often. Joe Haden had a great day with 3 interceptions , most of which were great catches or total BS depending on which team you root for. Good game Roggie , hopefully you can improve that line a bit in the offseason and have some better luck with the offense next year.
Seattle (9-6) 34 Arizona (9-6) 10 Seattle, WA -- The Seahawks came into their week 16 match up hanging on to a wildcard birth by a thread. Their post season hopes needed a win to stay as the 6th seed and hoping for a Redskins loss to give them some breathing room headed into the last week of the season. They knew it wouldn't be easy as they had a familiar division foe, one which beat them convincingly earlier in the year. The Seahawks have had quite the turnaround this season. After starting the year 3-5 they were able to rattle off 4 strait wins, to bring them back to 7-5 and after losing to SF they've won two straight. Now at 9-6 the Seahawks host the 2-12 Rams with a shot at clinching a playoff birth. "We always knew we were a better team than our record indicated earlier in the year." Stated Russell Wilson, "we knew if we kept preparing the way we've been doing things in practice and in the film room, the results would follow and they have. Now we have a shot to make the playoffs, and that is a testament to the guys in that locker room and our coaching staff." The Seahawks stuck to the ground game against the Cardinals giving Marshawn Lynch the ball 26 times which he was able to turn into 144 yards and a touchdown. Backup running back Robert Turbin had four carries for 42 yards as well. QB Russell Wilson was efficient on the day going 15 for 23 with 173 yards and 3 touchdowns to go with 1 interception. Seattle's defense continued to dominate sacking Carson Palmer a total of six times on the day. The Cards just weren't able to sustain drives which ended up being their demise. Next week the Hawks host the Rams in a critical game to continue their fantastic second half run and a shot at the playoffs. Good game Kasper sorry the game disconnected. Good luck next week.
In what was probably the ugliest game of the season thus far, the Rams won their third game of the year with a 17-14 win over the Bucs. St Louis mustered all of 5 first downs, failed numerous times to convert on 3rd and 1's all game, had 46 of their 77 rushing yards on one play, and Sam Bradford completed 8/20 passes for 91 yards and 2 picks. The defense gave up their fair share of yards, but picked off QB Mike Glennon 4 times, one of which came on the Bucs last drive as they tried to take the lead. The play of the game came after a Sam Bradford pick in his own territory, as the Bucs missed a 48(?) yard field goal with a little over 3 minutes left that would have tied the game. GG Big Suge Knight, I think we figured out how the other played after having 3 disconnects, so that was an ugly one.
Defense Bullies Alex Smith and Company After a leave of absence Coach Saw came back to coach in the final game of the season. With no playoffs this year he just wanted to have some fun and did. The game was simply dominated by the Charger defense. In the last match against Kansas City the San Diego LBs rose up and took control of the game, this time it was the DBs turn. There was six total turnovers with two going for TDs. 1st Quarter: Just like last time both defenses started out strong, throwing punches left and right. San Diego was able to make it into the redzone and kick in a 21 yard FG by K Nick Novak. On the very next play Alex Smith threw his first of four INTS to Derek Cox. Cox read the WRs route and simply sat and waited for the ball. Once he caught he took all the way down to the one where RB Ryan Mattews punched it in. 2nd Quarter: Riddled with turnovers, a fumble and interception, the Chiefs still could not move the ball into scoring position. With an inept offense San Diego once again took advantage of the untimely turnovers. QB Phillip Rivers found recently signed WR Arrelious Benn for the 10 yard TD off play action. With little time left on the clock KC tried kicking a long FG to just go into the half with some points and missed it short. Halftime: Kansas City - 0 San Diego - 10. San Diego receives the ball 3rd Quarter: The Chiefs started to take control of the game but again turnovers and not being able to score kept them from getting back into the game. Both teams were able to kick short FGs from 22 (KC) and 27 (SD) yards out. 4th Quarter: This is where the game got out of hand and San Diego cruised to victory. Just trying to run down the clock the Chargers offense struggled to move the ball but it did not matter with how good the defense played. Early in the quarter, Rookie CB Steve Williams continued his great season by picking Smith off and taking it 41 yards to the house. In zone coverage he read the throw coming in and stepped right i front of WR Dewayne Bowe. You could see how rattled KC was and tried everything they could to get back in the ball game. Their aggressiveness did not pay off as CB Derek Cox picked off another pass. Last time he could not get it in but this time Cox was all alone for the 74 yard score. Back to back pick sixes ended any comeback chance. In the meaningless end of the game KC yielded 13 more points but in the end SD will be sitting at home waiting for next season. GG Mcwoods06 and good luck in the playoffs!
Seattle 30 St. Louis 20 Seattle, WA -- The Seahawks had to win to keep pace with the Redskins and Cardinals in the race for the final two playoff spots. Seattle did their job, now all the can do is wait to see what their fate is. Marshawn Lynch carried the load for the home team rushing for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns on 31 carries. Robert Turban also had a good day rushing for 58 yards on 6 carries. Percy Harvin had a good day catching 6 balls for 103 yards. The game was close with St Louis cracking the scoreboard first with a field goal, but mistakes would catch up to the Rams as Sam Bradford threw two picks, one of which CB Richard Sherman took to the house for an easy score. Bradford ended up going 15 for 26 for 215 yards a touchdown and two interceptions. Zac Stacy had a decent day on the ground for the visitors rushing for 92 yards and a score on 14 carries. Good game HarkTheSound
Just want to say Congratulations to you both on great turnarounds. Both of you had nice runs to end the season. While you narrowly missed out on the playoffs this year sawemoff you showed next year your going to be a force winning 5 of your last 6. MoonBBad strong finish to the season for you as well winning 7 of 8 and while I'm not in the NFC, I bet theirs not a team over there thst wants to draw your team in the playoffs if the chips fall in your favor.
Thanks man. My team is still lacking offensively so like I told Danthraxxx if I pick up/draft some decent OL and maybe a TE/WR we should be good to go.
Bills capitalize on turnovers beat Patriots 31-6 The Buffalo Bills needed to go into the playoffs with some confidence and they did just that, going into Foxboro and beating the red hot New England Patriots. The Bills started off with the ball after losing the toss, and thanks to a key 33 yard run on 3rd and 1 by Fred Jackson drove deep into Patriots territory. The Patriots defense held and forced a FG for a 3-0 Bill lead. They would force a turnover on the ensuing possesion but gave it right back to the Pats. The Patriots moved the ball into Buffalo territory but had their drive stall just outside of FG range and were forced to punt. A balanced attack led the Bills back down the field and CJ Spiller found the end zone from 5 yards out for a 10-0 lead. The second quarter both defenses held strong as the only score was a Patriot FG and Buffalo went into half up 10-3. The 3rd quarter really started bad for New England as Tom Brady turned it over on the first two drives, one being taken 46 yards for a TD by Manny Lawson, and 7 minutes into the quarter the game was 31-3 Buffalo. From this point both teams rested their star players as Johnson came in at QB for the Pats and Fred Jackson seen more playing time for the Bills. The Pats added a FG in the 3rd to bring it to 31-6 which is how the game ended. Doug Marone breathed a sigh of relief after the game for the Bills who after their hot start had went 4-4 down the stretch. Ownership has not fully committed to the 1st year coach despite the strong performance this season but barring a collapse and embassment in the playoffs he should see another year. GG kdpnutter
Cardinals 35 49ers 17 When It Was Over After Stefon Taylor took a screen pass to the house in the 4th quarter to go up bye multiple scores. Game Ball Goes To HB Ryan Williams - in the absence of starter Andre Ellington Williams rattled off 172 yards and a TD on 21 carries. He also had a 22 yard screen play. Stat Of The Game 327 - difference in offensive yards between Arizona and San Fran. Note: the 49ers were resting all of their starters this week! Good game The Richuation - hopefully I can play your full strength team well next time I see them.
Packers 34 - Bears 28 --Soldier Field - Chicago, IL Despite 4 offensive turnovers including one scoop and score by the Bears, the Packers moved one step closer to a playoff berth with a victory at Soldier Field in Week 17. Aaron Rodgers had a great game with 378 yards and 4 TD's. The coach made a shitty decision to Squib with 30 seconds to go in the game, followed by a Facemask by the Pack but the Bears in plus territory. Cutler hit Forte on the patented screen play taking the ball inside the red zone where the pack sacked cutler leaving a few seconds left due to the bears being out of timeout. Cutler hurried to the line hit marshal on a quick out route only to have time expire GG Roggie Now Baron time for you to lay the wood on Masler Packer Stats A-Rod - 26 - 31 - 378 Yards - 4 TD's Cobb - 9 Rec - 170 Yards - 2 TD's Bears Stats Cutler - 22 - 36 - 326 Yards - 1 TD - 2 INT Forte - 15 Rush - 57 Yards - 2 TD's - 6 Rec - 103 Yards 1 TD
Despite having no shot at the playoffs, the Vikings took hold of the opportunity to destroy the Lions postseason hopes. With a dominating defensive effort, holding Detroit to just 166 yards of total offense, the Vikings capped off their season with a 24-7 win to finish 8-8. The highlight of the game came on a Fake FG on 4th and 1 with the Vikings scoring to go up 17-7. Perhaps even better than the victory was the knowledge that the hated Cheez -led Falcons finished a laughable 5-11, giving the Vikings some real firepower in this year's draft. GG Masler . See you next year! You're whalecum.
Texans edge CPU Titans to secure AFC South title. In a season of sloppy play from the QB position the Texans took advantage of a weak AFC South field and managed to win 10 games behind very inconsistent play from local stars C. Keenum and V. Young. Young emerged as the starter after a long QB battle which lasted most of the season. Young found the end zone 3 times without throwing an interception, and star RB A. Foster added a big chunk on the ground. JJ Watt dominated the LOS slowing both Locker & CJ-2K. Game Ball : JJ Watt 8 Tackles 2 Sacks
In the last game of the season Oakland finishes strong as the change of ownership goes into full swing headed into the offseason. After just missing the playoffs, this Oakland team will reaffirm their place amongst the more successful teams of the AFC. We will be fielding a very similar team next season, some vets won't return but the core players will remain the same. With the addition of a 3-4 defense, we will look the anchor down the front seven with an added playmaker or two. McFadden, who had a clear shot at this years rush title, will continue to be the focus on offense. Good luck to those the made the post season.
TEXANS END CHIEFS' SEASON Travelling to Arrowhead stadium to take on the #1 AFC team, G. Kubiak knew he was in for a tough task. This was a game of ball control and execution. And aside from TEN holding calls the Texans executed on both sides of the ball to a tune of 44-14. Alex Smith was picked off three times and the Chiefs' run game was bottled up for the most part all game. A. Foster banged out 155 yards on 27 hard carries, scoring 3 times on the ground. J. Joseph had two interceptions on his own. Impact players came to play in this key match up and made it easy for VY to manage the game. Player of the Game : Arian Foster
Another chapter in this rivalry ends with San Francisco eliminating Seattle from the 2013 playoffs. Seattle jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter after 2 Colin Kaeperneck INTs, one of which was returned for a TD. Down 14-0, the 49ers went to work on the ground and defensively and the 1st half ended 35-14. The 2nd half was an excersie of kill the clock and advance for the 49ers but a punt return TD and excellent field position led to additional scores. Great game MoonBBad looking forward to our next meeting.
