Certainly not an explanation. Hey rynoaid i messaged you yesterday with some questions about the xbox 360 new members league. I would like to pick your brain a bit when you have the chance.
The demo got me. if the franchise is awesome and not.the same thing from the past 3 years i can retire 2k5
The play art, how players interact in tackles feels like dummies running into each other (not every time). computer on All-Madden break tackles a ridiculous amount. My WR's drop too many wide open passes but i believe will that will be fixed when the game comes out. How they Added run and pass commit from NCAA, and Zone defense isn't quiet there yet to where it needs to be.
Hopefully people realize I have not been blowing smoke up your asses.. this game is legit, I'm not a fanboy... it's a large step in the right direction for the franchise.
nice write up.....I always felt the NCAA and MADDEN demos were quite different than the released game. I usually stay away.
My initial reaction was ah im not sure. However as the game wore on I could see the improvements. Few things I liked. 1. the Fullbacks dont run around retard chasing guys. They go through the assigned area and keep running. Atleast the redskins did. 2. The read option is a true read and runs very similar to NCAA. The QB isnt in quick sand. 3. I liked that the blocking schemes accounted for every one in the box. Even when the SS was in the box. Although it was much tougher to run. Few things Im not sure about 1. How much different the passing engine is from Madden to NCAA. It felt almost exactly the same 2. The player direction change is crazy. there is no slow down when running full speed right to full speed left. Why is this? 3. Zone coverage is much better than NCAA. I didnt see much pass rush at all still. I had Brian Orakpo and he didnt get any pressure at all. Overall I would rather play this Demo than Madden last season however there are two things I would love to see fixed. Mainly the lighting in the game I feel like it is really dark. I would also like to see the defender lose some speed when changing directions. Those are the only two things im not super happy with at all. Like I said the game is great. I really like the engine and the blocking is what has been really helped out. LSU
What? Maybe in solo mode but did anyone ever watch these at half time? All i've ever seen people do is mash start and A as fast as humanly possible to get to kickoff of the 2nd half? Post game could be cool though because then that's at your own discretion but in an online game waiting on the other to watch the 4 minute half time show would get old in a hurry.
IMO a "chicken and the egg" argument. Do they not put time into halftime presentation because people will skip it? Or do people skip it because historically the halftime shows have been shit.
If this was in I would have an option to turn on/off the pre/half/post game shows. All different options. I enjoy post games and prefaces. Halftime always stings in madden.
The presentation stuff is cool the first few times you watch it, then it is time to skip and get back to the gameplay.
The only problem with adjusting sliders is I won't be able to play with those sliders online Ranked Matches and Online Dynasties.
These are major concerns of mine. Madden has always done a subpar job with inertia. When players can cut on a dime it breaks down a lot of areas of football. The balance is really hard to achieve I'm sure, but I hope its improved over the past couple years. As far as a pass rush, that will seriously piss me off. I should be able to bring 4 or 5 guys (especially if they are elite) and get pressure at least SOMETIMES. I don't want to see Mario Williams laying on the ground by some 73ovr right tackle. I want to see the line get push and the protection break down after a few seconds.
