Downloaded the demo today for PS3, and I will be honest, I haven't paid much attention to Madden 13 because of how much I disliked Madden 12. But after playing as the 49ers against the Giants....wow. The Infinity Engine was absolutely incredible. Seeing it in action on a running play up the gut was jaw-dropping. Running with Gore, it seems that you don't get stuck on your linemen if you run too close to them, and the tackles seems very realistic. Chop blocks are absolutely amazing in action on run plays. I was on defense and the left guard and center for the Giants (don't know their names) performed chop blocks on the lineman across from them, and me and the other linebacker that was storming the line got caught up in the mess, which I thought was awesome. I saw the momentum in action when I went to tackle a receiver that caught the ball for the Giants. He had started to move, but my cornerback sprinting at him halted his motion and threw him backwards. Lastly, fumbles are heckuva lotta fun now, just watching the players throw themselves with reckless abandon at the ball...wow. The presentation is the best I've seen from any Madden game. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms have excellent dialogue, are back and forth when they communicate (something I liked from NHL 11 and FIFA 12), and overall pitch a very good game. The cutscenes seems a tad long/slow, but I draw this up to the demo being on the hard drive and not the disc. I watched the little video preview they had on the demo...I am excited, finally an excellent franchise/superstar mode that is very good in its execution. My only question, is there still going to be cut days in the preseason? I thought that was an excellent feature from Madden 12 that should stick around. Overall, my mind has been made up, and Madden will once again become a staple game in my gaming diet.
What the fuck is wrong with my PS3? I download the NCAA 13 demo TWICE and neither time it works, and now, I get a disc error after I try to play a game!!! I want to smash something right now...
Here is a game manual link and CC manual link. http://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/promo/manuals For those that are having problems with dropped balls, if you hold the catch button (Y, triangle) instead of press and release, it is supposed to give you a better chance of making the catch.
Well I stomped the Gmen and the Hawks. The niners are freaking amazing and I welcome back Randy Moss. Crazy games. Lookin forward to my sick day on the 28th
Played demo last night. On all madden using Niners vs the Giants. Not sure what i should be looking for with the RTP, but the tackling doesn't seem that much different, I saw a 3 man kinda gang tackle but everything else, the tackling looked similar to last years without the canned animation feel. Didn't see anything to say, "WOW"or unique tackling animations. I noticed the dive tackling isnt as effective as last year, i think they may have nerfed it. The diving last year was very effective, this year, dont think it will. My guys were pretty open most of the game, but the drops from my receivers/TE were pretty ridiculous. Not sure if it is the all madden setting or what, but my guys dropped around 5-8 wide open passes. I waited until the icon on the WR showed and didnt matter, drop after drop. Running seems to be similar to m12 except i feel the defenders have a little more of acceleration to the ball carrier. I had some DTs/LBs catch up to Gore out of nowhere. Even had Davis catch pass without nobody around him free to the endzone and a safety caught up. I also ran a kickoff back with Ginn. I only played a few games of NCAA and I do agree with those that there is an ncaa feel to the game. Very stiff when it comes to gameplay, a little more fluid looking in terms of animations, but faster. Hopefully, this will curtail the zig zagging that plagued all the maddens before this, but i am guessing it wont.
User catching always has an advantage since the game rewards those that does. One thing to have a wide open drop and another to have 3 or 4 consecutive wide open drops. I am not a user catcher so it would suck if the amount of drops continues into retail which i assume it wont. I like the idea of wide open drops especially for guys with low ratings, but to see it consecutively with manningham, moss, and davis, is a little bit much
I agree with you 100% but as it stands this is the only way that I have gotten around the problem. I do hope it gets fixed.
Gamespeed SLOW or NORMAL? whats the general Consensus? Personally, I like SLOW, I feel like everything is allot smoother and there are less "herky jerky" animations.
on ALL MADDEN the CPU bassically cheats you... All user attributes dropped to 25, while the CPU attributes remain at 50... I've always wondered why a game can't just be "hard" because of the CPU playing good, sound football, rather than making the User Players just flat out worse... This has made Madden Offline basically unplayable for me the past few years...
I can confirm that the sliders are as he said they are, just look in the user skill and cpu skill while playing and you will see it.
I only have the Demo. But you can adjust sliders and stuff after you start the game. It kinda caught me off guard to be honest, because I was think "oh, so THATS why it feels like I'm being F***" lol.
I had an issue with drops on All-Madden but only if I tried to make a quick cut or move after catching the ball. After a few times I just either held Y or I just didn't make a cut until they had the ball long enough and haven't had a problem since then, other than Moss and Davis dropping EVERYTHING when they get hit.
So yesterday, I had a chance to put about 2 hours into the demo, played with sliders, turn the speed to slow, and the threshhold down to 35....I'm sold....I always bought madden just cuz it was madden and a new year...This year, I feel like we actually are getting a new, innovative game, worthy of 60 ones, and not just a roster update. I've seen the CCM website demo video, and this takes it to a whole new level. I may even go midnight release cop it, we will see. Looking forward to the 28th though LLS
Anything played on a faster speed looks like EA's Nascar Racing Game... I love the feel of the game and the smoothness of the animations with a slow speed setting. Everything just seems flow better with the game setup on slow speed. Some tweaks to the demo sliders have also done wonders to gameplay on the field for me.
I have been putting it on Slow, and All-Madden with user sliders to 35. Plays pretty well, no bouncing around and flying off players like normal does. Using these slider settings gives it a great feel for SIM play imo. Playing smart will win games, as well as using fundamentals, believe t or not. I don't drop open passes like default all madden, but still can't make a move right after the ball gets there. I have to manually catch it wait a half a second then cut.
