In Madden 13, you have 3 choices for your coach's backstory. You can be one of the following - 1. Motivator "Players simply want to play for you. You will find is easier to lure players to your team and keep them. Free agents will consider your team a prime destination, but you'll also need to improve the players you have and fill your roster through the draft to be great. Inspire your men to greatness and you could be the next John Madden or Vince Lombardi. 2. Strategist "As a coach you are always evolving. Thinking of new ways to progress your players and own abilities. However, being the smartest guy doesn't always lead to wins if you don't have the right players or the ability to motivate them. Will you go down as the next great innovator like Bill Walsh or Tom Landry or just another mad genius" 3. Team Builder "You are shrewd in your dealings. Part scout, part GM, you excel at finding the right pieces. You should have the personnel to win but you'll need to inspire and progress them to be great. Do that and you'll go down as the next Joe Gibbs as the next great team builder. " I'm just curious as to the type of coach most of you would like to start out as.....
Motivator has always been my game. Even as a player in high school. Tearing up when I'm talking to my defense before the game...lol
i'm more of a strategist, but motivator could be the way to go if it helps out with signing FA's. voted strategist
I voted strategist, but I am on the fence between that and Motivator. I always loved the way you can out think another coach, so that's why I voted that. Great thread Ry!
I'm wondering how many factors there will be for each choice. On the surface, the main ones are pretty obvious. Motivator - Easier to sign Free Agents. Strategist - Easier to progress players. Team Builder - More scouting information for the draft. I'm not sure what I'll go with but I'm leaning towards strategist since that perk seems most beneficial.
Motivator i got playeres wanted play for me . my pre games speeches speaks for it self. im heck of football coach too
And where is the "I will spend way more than my allotted cap every offseason and drive the admin team crazy" option?
I would go strategist I think. I think I usually try to combine strategist with team builder so I will just have to figure out which one I would rather do. I personally like to build up my players and try to keep them over extended periods of time and I do not usually bring in many free agents. I am open to any suggestions anyone would have for me as I have been a bit behind and have some catching up to do, but I am thrilled to see that we are getting rising activity and that HK will be a premier league next release!
I have to go Teambuilder. I think I got more practical experience trading/drafting last year than anything. The stick skills will come when they come.
I'm going to go with Team Builder. I don't play FA enough to worry about motivator and I definitely have 0 strategy going into games.
Strategist for me. If you don't make adjustments in a group of stick ninjas like this you will be passed over fast
I don't know. I am a builder, I can scour the draft class for a few hours at a time looking at players then plug them into the lineup for them to go out and produce. Go out and grab a key FA (Jonathan Baldwin) and have a two-headed monster in the WR core. Beason also.. I will my team through the controller to make plays and win, lol how lame does that sound... So I can build with the best of them and win titles of course, so just call me Lombardi, for them trophies in the showroom.
