Dolphins open camp
The character that is Dolphins owner "thirdalarm" was on the field at Thursdays practice in regular form, cocktail in hand and a smile on his face as the release of Madden15 is in the forecast. The tempo at practice was that of a typical Miami happy hour. Reporters asked CEO/Stick man/Owner Thirdalarm about his offseason game plan and how he feels about bringing his talents to south beach. Third replied "Im very excited about being in Miami, If you saw what I did in Oakland with a horrible team then you can imagine what I will do here with this dominant defense. It took me four seasons to put together a team that could stand up to Cole Copeland and his Chiefs, Coach_III and his Broncos and Cimmy24 and his Bolts out west. I feel like I have a team in place now that took Four seasons to build, It fits my personality. I believe that is why commish BobJr Sent me to Miami.....and because I fit the Miami lifestyle." With the addition of Legacy Player Arrion Croaker at MLB this defense is set to rain the pain on Tom Brady and G_T_G in New England. As part of my offseason training I have downloaded the new Madden15 roster and have simmed 8 seasons to get a feel for my franchise. The Cap is gonna be no problem while free agents seem to want to flock to Miami, and everyone knows I am HK's Billie Beane so watch for the Phins to prosper under new management..............More to come, stay tuned.
Despite bolstering just a 6-10 record from a season ago, The Buffalo Bills have a lot to be optimistic about in the 2014 campaign. On the offensive side of the ball, there are high expectations for QB Erik Rodriguez "EJ" Manuel. His rookie outing saw flashes of great ability that the Bills hope will return them to times of the past. His favorite target this season will probably come by way of a guy who hasn't taken a single NFL career snap as of yet. First round draft pick Sammy Watkins has lived up to the hype thus far. The combination of his speed, elusiveness and catching ability have him set to be a force to be reckoned with early on in his career. An immediate emergence of the Bills WR corp should pave the way for the stable of able backs Buffalo have this season. CJ Spiller, Fred Jackson and Bryce Brown (by way of Philadelphia) are all capable backs that bring different styles of running to the Bills offense.
Although the loss of FS Jarius Byrd and SS Jim Leonhard will definitely be a set back for the Bills defensive unit, The DLine should help ease the transition for SS Aaron Williams (third year player from Texas) and FS Da'Norris Searcy (third year player from North Carolina). 2 of The Bills defensive linemen made The Pro Bowl for a Bills defense that registered 57 sacks from a year ago. Mario Williams 13 sacks and Kyle Williams 10.5 lead the Bills in that category. If the William's can generate a repeat performance from last season, look for great things from this unit this season.

Rumors Erupt About Mallett/Garoppolo In Training Camp
Many experts seem to think that Patriots backup QB Ryan Mallett is a legitimate starting-caliber talent.
The Patriots have a wide receiver problem.
Andre Johnson has a Texans problem.
Could this be a match made in heaven?
Rumors have been flying around the Patriots practice facility about the possibility of a trade involving either rookie QB Jimmy Garoppolo or veteran backup (and much hyped) QB Ryan Mallett for Andre Johnson or another veteran wide receiver.
Head Coach Chad Masters had no comment on the rumors, but Patriots owner Gates_The_Great had this to say:
"We like both of our back up QBs, but I won't count out any moves that will get us closer to a Super Bowl," said Gates. "Jimmy has potential and Mallett is a great safety net for Tom Brady. We'll just see what happens."
The ball is now in your court pitt4life21
god please don't bring Andre Johnson to NE -_-
Patriots: Ryan Mallett Not Available
Despite recent rumors surrounding trade talks involving Ryan Mallett, the Patriots came out today and were upfront and straight forward with the media on their plans with Mallett.
"Mallett is not going anywhere," said Patriots HC Chad Masters. "Ryan is a part of our plans. He is going to be a Patriot. Case closed."
Mallett has displayed a strong arm and good decision making skills throughout training camp. Owner Gates_The_Great did say never say never when it comes to trading, but for the moment, it appears that Mallett is the heir-apparent to Tom Brady.
GENO SMITH NAMED STARTER
Geno Smith looks to make a big leap in production this year
NEW YORK (AP)- Coach Moreecemos wanted to let the fans and media know from the get-go who his starting QB is. "There is no QB controversy or competition here, Geno Smith is the starting QB for the New York Jets." Realizing how much the media plays into a competition from years past (Sanchez/Geno for example), coach felt it was imperative to not let that be a distraction for the team.
The Jets are looking to improve an 8-8 record from a season ago and hope that Geno makes the adjustments necessary to take the Jets to the playoffs. After a disappointing 12/21 TD/INT ratio last year, the Jets felt the offense needed more weapons. As a result they signed WR Eric Decker, WR Jacoby Ford and RB Chris Johnson as well as in the draft they picked TE Jace Amaro, WR's Shaq Evans, Jalen Saunders and Quincy Enuwma. "We feel this group of players will help make this offense one of the more dynamic offenses in the league, especially under the helm of Geno," said Coach Moreecemos.
Mike Vick has been supportive of the decision and hasn't provided bulletin board material for anyone. "I came here to be a backup and mentor to Geno....that's my job and I'll do that to the best of my ability. If and when my number is called, I'll be ready to contribute to the team," said Vick.
JETS READY FOR SEASON TO START
End up 3-2 in preseason games but have learned a lot
When the games don't count, teams seemingly play a bit looser; it's when the regular season kicks off and that's when you can separate the contenders from the pretenders.
But as the preseason wears on, the Jets seemingly have learned some things about their team in action so far.
1- Geno Smith is primed for a big year.
Geno spots an open Tommy Bohanon for a TD pass against the Niners ---The 2nd year QB has only thrown 2 INT's in 5 games, which spells a huge improvement in his development as a QB. If he can continue to hone his skills, the Jets have hit a HR, in the 2nd round of the 2013 draft. The Jets brass is very confident going into the regular season that Geno has what it takes to become a winning QB in this league.
2- The Jets 2014 draft is a homerun....for now.
Calvin Pryor is showing he's the playmaking safety the Jets have been looking for---Calvin Pryor is a playmaker. Pryor has been very active around the field and has a knack for making the big play in limited time as the starting FS. Pryor made an unbelievable interception in a preseason game against the Cardinals when he picked a Palmer pass with one hand, held it against the WR's helmet and came down with the ball in hand. Jace Amaro is primed to start the season as the #1 TE on the depth chart after impressing the coaching staff with his speed and catching ability. And Jalen Saunders is a sneakey little PR who is looking to grab some shine as a WR somehow.
3- After a shaky start, the defense is starting to take form.
David Harris picks off Kaepernick ---Against the Ravens, the Jets defense looked like swiss cheese as it was thoroughly dominated throughout that contest but since then, it's been a turnover factory in favor of the Jets, and that's something that wasn't really the case for Gang Green. In order for this team to be one of the best, they must be a turnover bunch and control the turnover margin in their favor. The pieces to be dominant are there, it's just about execution for one of the top defenses on paper in the league.
4- Ivory the feature back?
Chris Ivory is making the Jets staff rethink their #1 RB decision---When the Jets picked up CJ2K, they were figuring he would be the #1 back but have the stable of solid backs be a relief to the former 2000 yard rusher. Well in 5 games of action, Chris Johnson has been lackluster to say the least on the ground. Meanwhile, Chris Ivory has been running angry and using his power to gain extra yardage. Now we know an offense led by Coach moreecemos is usually featuring a back who has great receiving skills but Ivory has simply been outstanding in limited time as a more reliable back to pick up tough yardage. We will monitor the situation closely as the weeks go on.
The fans have been excited by their teams performance but remember, this is only preseason...we'll see how thinks look when the games matter.
Good stuff Mogriffjr
Lamar Miller wins the starting Job
Miami Ap: Miami Dolphins owner Thirdalarm held his press conference today at a local pub where he announced that Lamar Miller will be the starting running back over veteran Knowshon Moreno. Miller has lightning speed out of the backfield and that will be the focus and the future of an up and coming Miami attack. "We want to stretch the field with Mike Wallace and pound the rock with Miller." QB Ryan Tannehill has been working on the long ball to Wallace all off season. Mikes job is to stretch the field and that is exactly what we plan on doing.
Knowshon's reaction to the news broken earlier today. He is officially on the block.
PATS NEWS AND NOTES FROM WEEK 1:
Mallet Shipped to Texans
In a surprise move, the Patriots traded Ryan Mallett to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 4th round pick in the 2015 NFL draft. New England originally seemed partial to Mallett, and were grooming him for the starting role when Brady eventually retires. Now, it appears that Jimmy Garoppolo has taken over the role of future QB, and current backup. Now with an open roster spot, it will be interesting to see if they choose to pick up a backup quarterback with more experience in case something should happen to Brady this season.
Ridley Solidifies Starting Job
Coming into the season, there was a competition for touches at the RB spot. Shane Vereen seemed to come on at the end of last season, but Stevan Ridley out performed him in the preseason and earned the starting gig heading into week 1. Many fans thought that Chad Masters had opted for the wrong guy and that Ridley was just a "fumbling bum" as one fan's tweet put it. Ridley silenced the critics by running for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns in week 1 against the Dolphins. If Ridley can sort out his ball protection issues, he is in line to hold on to the starting position for the foreseeable future.
PATS NEWS AND NOTES FROM WEEK 2:
Patriots Ponder Playbook Change After 4 Brady Picks
The Patriots struggled to score points against the Vikings this week, prompting questions regarding whether the New England playbook is still a viable option moving forward. Tom Brady tossed 4 interceptions and only 1 TD (a deep ball where Gronk made a catch.. in coverage) in Minnesota. Of course, everyone is blaming the playbook and the offensive coordinator, because in no way can this ever be Tom Brady's fault. It's Tom frickin Brady.
CHRIS JOHNSON STILL HAS "IT"
Chris Johnson has been all the Jets have asked for early in the season
4 games in and Chris Johnson is showing that he still has the ability that gave him 2000 yards years ago. He's been a big play guy for an offense that came into the season as to who on this team would be able to provide that ability. Stephen Hill has become a downfield threat for the Jets so far in the receiving corps and Johnson has done the same in the running game. Against the Raiders, CJ had a 52 yard TD run breaking off a few tackles and using his world class speed to score. In his last game against the Lions he had his best overall game. He had a 45 yard reception and a 75 yard run against the Lions as the Jets have begun to start using CJ more in the passing game.
"We've had to adjust how we wanted to use CJ because of the injury to Chris Ivory...we want to keep CJ healthy but he's such a vital part of the offense....we still haven't begun to put CJ out wide as a WR and out on the perimeter yet so we're excited to what he's provided so far," said Rex Ryan.
The Jets agree to terms with NT Damon "Snacks" Harrison on a 4 year, $32 mill contract, with a reported $12 million in guarantees. The 3rd year NT had a break out year last year, becoming one of the top NT's in the league. The deal is expected to be one of many, with attention soon coming to DE Muhammed Wilkerson, who is soon looking for a long term deal.
They also re-signed CB Kyle Wilson, although financial details weren't disclosed.
MLB Jeremiah George making waves
The 5th round rookie has been garnering high praise from Coach Rex Ryan. "Despite him being on the small size, he's well advanced and is a very good athlete out there...he knows where to be on the field and he's only a rookie." Insiders say that George could make way and become the 2nd LB in nickel sets alongside Demario Davis. That would spell a decrease in playing time for David Harris, the field general and 30 year old who is due for a new contract. It has been said that the two sides are negotiating but talks have been slow to develop.
WR Jeremy Kerley traded
The Jets announced they traded the 25 year old WR Jeremy Kerley to the Ravens for a 4th round pick in the 2015 draft. Kerley was a fan favorite and very solid slot WR but with his contract coming up this offseason and the additions of rookies Jalen Saunders (who shares a similar skillset) and Shaq Evans, this made Kerley expendable.
PATS NEWS AND NOTES FROM... WHATEVER WEEK IT IS:
Jimmy "Tha G" Garoppolo gets his first NFL start against the Lions
Tom Brady, fortunately or unfortunately depending at how you look at it - he sucks this year, broke his ribs in a pedestrian QB sneak effort against the Colts last week. Rookie Jimmy Garoppolo stepped in and did.. OK? I guess? He was efficient, but he didn't make too many plays.. Rob Gronkowski caught a long TD pass from Garoppolo, but it came from blown coverage by the Colts defense.
Garoppolo is still untested, and the game tonight against the Lions should give Patriots fans a potential glimpse into the future of life without Tom Brady. It could be a blessing in disguise for the Patriots - if they like what they see, they may not need to invest in a QB moving forward. If not, it can give them time to plan further for when Brady retires.
Joe Philbin on the Hot Seat in Miami?Miami AP; Its that time of year where coaches might be feeling the "Heat below the seat" and nothing is more true than the Miami Dolphins HC position. The opening season for HK15 in Miami was not expected to be a championship run but a mediocre 5-10 run into week 17 doesn't boost confidence in Coach Philbin with Team owner/CEO/Stick man Thirdalarm.
If brining in a new coach boosts fan interest then that is what Third is going to do. Team owner said in an interview after last weeks 20-19 loss to Minnesota that "I have no loyalties to Coach Philbin and that's the bottom line because Third says so."
Make sure you give him the stunner when you fire him.
STEVAN RIDLEY WINS MVP
1900+ yds and 13 TDs good enough to take home HK's most valuable player award
Breaking it down in South Beaoooooooootch! Miami; Season 1 of HK was a roller coaster ride for the Miami Dolphins and Thirdalarm but at the end of the day it was a fun learning experience to start off the new release. After grasping the learning curve of a new release and the brand new "confidence" rating of Madden15 the Fins felt like they were behind the 8 ball so to speak. By the final whistle of week 17 the team and their flamboyant owner Third were satisfied and ready to build of the momentum of season 1 and come out swinging in season 2. Thirdalarms game has always been a stout defense and the self proclaimed "South Beach Bad Boys" of defensive backs turned in a whopping 23 ints for the season stunning opposing QBs in HK. Leading the motley crew of DBs this year was Resead Jones who claimed 8 ints on the year. Daniell Ellerbe impressed everyone as he accounted for 104 solo tackles and 6 sacks from the outside linebacker position. Some monumental marks for Third this season were his first ever HK Running back to eclipse the 1000 yard mark with Lamar Miller running for 1044 yards and 7 TDs as well as Thirds first ever WR to put up 1040 receiving yards and 10 TDs from Mike Wallace , both a new high for his HK career. Ryan Tannehill saved his job and his ass with a 2240 15 TD season, but it was his lack of ints with only 7 that will keep him in the drivers seat next season. The Fins will have their work cut out for them entering the first offseason as they will not sneak up on anyone in season 2.
sorry had to dislike this lol...
The Big Ben effect in Miami
South Beach Miami; From the moment Big Ben left Pittsburg and headed south to Miami the Dolphins have became a major threat through the air to anyone in HK. Team owner and CEO/Stick man thirdalarm has put the pieces in place for Big Ben to be successful by acquiring AJ Green from Cincinnati, picking up TE Jermichael Finley, drafting Antavio Bernard out of USC in the 2nd round and Trevon Baily the monster 6'4 234 lb WR out of Pitt to compliment the speedy Mike Wallace who is quite familiar to catching the deep ball from Roethlisberger. The result.........Big Ben has eclipsed the 1000 yard mark in passing in just 4 games. Thirds past teams have struggled mightily in passing and the record has shown it, so to post these types of numbers in only season 2 is a mile stone. The Dolphins record has not shown the success in South Beach at 1-3 but two of the 3 losses have came in the final seconds of the game and easily could of ended in a different result. In the recent week team owner thirdalarm has acquired RG Kyle Long from Chicago for a 2nd round pick in this years draft. Some so called experts say that the Dolphins overpaid for Long but Third said in his interview this week "Kyle Long comes from a football family and is now with a football family. He is a young 86 overall lower salary (no bonus) football player who will fill the biggest need this team has at RG replacing Dallas Thomas who is a 69 overall. So yea we made the right decision". Miami surely would of addressed the RG slot in the upcoming draft so to get it done this year is a major win in the GM role.
