Great thought, and on that note I do Have a question. Can winning year in and year out or even after one good season, dramatically improve specific guys? Like Brady ... 6th rounder back up turned starter to ... THE MAN. Eli Manning, mediocre his whole life then suddenly elite manly because of his team's defense. More specifically, I mean like cinderella teams that turn momentum into that IT factor. Conversely will losing have similar effects on player progression, moral, etc. like what the Steelers are on the verge of
I have a question about progression: How does progression affect a player's rating increases/decreases if he isn't living up to expectation? Can we see a player come in with hype, underachieve/suck, and basically just play his way to a lower overall? I'll use former ATL defensive end Jamaal Anderson as an example. He was a first round pick expected to help their pass rush, but these were his numbers: 2007: 30 tackles, 0 sacks, 3 Pdef, 1 FF (started 16/16 games) 2008: 27 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 Pdef (started 15/15 games) 2009: 27 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2 Pdef (started 13/13 games) 2010: 21 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 PDef, 1 FF (started 3/16 games) 2011: 24 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 PDef (started 1/16 games) 2012: only played in 2 games, 3 tackles As you can see, Anderson didn't live up to the 1st-round selection, and can really be labeled a bust now. His production matches that of a role player/rotation lineman than a starter, and he played his way out of a starting role after 3 years. Presumably, if progression works the way I'm asking, then his OVR and skills would have lowered to the point where he is a liability as a starter and a replacement should be considered. Other teams (Colts, Bengals) took chances on him, but it was clear he was not a starter at this point. So what I'm asking is, does progression/regression work the same way for an underachieving player the same way you say it works for a player who breaks out (say, like Victor Cruz)?
So, as an owner I fire my coach who is currently running a power run scheme and play book and I hire Chip Kelly, what changes? Do I have to manually change playbooks and schemes for it to even matter? Is there any difference in head coaches other than specializing in progressing certain ratings or making things cheaper to buy?
Has the size of the draft pool been expanded at all? Previous imported classes were too small... it was pointless having a pick after the 4th round when there was no skill players left. I want to be able to actually sign UFA from the draft pool after the draft to fill out my 70man roster... on a related note, has anything been added for player development? They really need the minicamp stuff back in the game for developing young players imo.
I wasn't able to see import draft class in person, we didn't have access to NCAA Football. Practice is the same as last year for the most part.
I'm not sure what the tipping point for progression/regression is, which is the crux of your question.
Thanks for the answer. So if a CPU controlled team fires their head coach and hires one with a completely different play style, that team will change their playbooks and schemes to fit the new head coach?
Question: is the new 49ers stadium available - Levi's Stadium??? Just wondering if I can create a stadium very similar to the new stadium. Thanks.
I think i saw somewhere that in the 1st season of a franchise, the niners will play at candlestick, but from year 2 onward in any franchise, they will be playing in the new stadium; lol it may even be somewhere in this thread , that or i just imagined the whole thing
I am 99% sure it was mentioned that big injuries can have lasting effect. The example I heard was an ACL could effect a guys ACC , SPD , ELU or whatnot.
There really needs to be more ACL injuries in the game cause I honestly cannot remember if I ever experienced a player get an ACL tear the whole time I've played Madden.
How young does a player have to be to have a "breakout" season? Could a guy like Jake Locker, or is he too old?
