    Malware Warnings

Anyone else getting these malware warnings? When I visit threads on this site I keep getting popups saying that visiting this site may infect my cpu with malware. (I have a mac).

I get from my McAfee: "This website is considered unsafe" when ever I check a thread.

I got on here Sunday night and I got some kind of warning and then I got some kind of virus but i was downloading the new version of Limewire at the same time. Is there anyone on here i could give the name of the virus to and they could tell me the best thing to do if I can do anything?

A better idea is to not download limewire. You might as well call a hacker and tell him the open ports to your computer...

I have a AV software. Shouldn't that have prevented it?

AV software is just a defensive mechanism, and most of them aren't great. AVG is okay. I also run a personal firewall in front of windows firewall.

But then again, I don't go to a lot of risky websites, so I don't have much to worry about.

There's definitely something going on here with this site. I have windows on my mac too with the hard drive partitioned so if I had a problem with my os x software it wouldn't affect my windows software.

Now I've been getting redirected on my windows software too. Has anyone else noticed a clicking noise, similar to when you click on a link in windows, even when you're not clicking on anything. I notice it all the time with windows on this site and I think it had to do with the banner ads. I'm no cpu genius, but something has to be happening. It's unlikely that all of us have the same virus on our computers.

Plus, this doesn't happen to me at any other websites.

We aren't denying that something is going on. I don't personally think it's malicious or my either one of my PCs at home would have detected it. Both are equipped with full debugging capabilties when uninitiated processes are executed.

Ryno is going to look into it when he gets off tonight.

I think it's just a redirect from an anti virus service just trying to scare sell their anti virus program...just my opinion.

I agree, I don't think it's malicious either. However, I'm not sure about some of the sites it redirects you to.

I've been redirected to websites for moving services, malware protection, and other crazy things.

It's a cheesy bs way to sell services, but it works, especially with the un informed....my parents fell for something just like that. They just didn't know better.

So I should just run a scan and not worry about it?

I don't think I would worry about it, but yeah, run a scan, quarantine whatever it asks you to quarantine, and you should be fine.

its just some shady ads man, you don't have a virus... it's just a phony way of making you think you might.
