St Louis Rams 2013 Season Preview:

In 2012, WR Chris Givens led the team in receiving yards, DT Michael Brockers helped the defense improve against the run and CB Janoris Jenkins nabbed a team-high four interceptions, returning three of them for touchdowns.

That defense is slated to return all but three starters from last year, adding 33-year-old linebacker Will Witherspoon for his second stint with the club along with a pair of rookies in LB Alec Ogletree and SS T.J. McDonald. With some solid Venterns as well as a mix of young guys players like Cortland Finnigan will mould and show the you ger guys how to act and play in the NFL.

The offense, meanwhile, brings a different look centered around QB Sam Bradford. The biggest change sees the loss of 30-year-old RB Steven Jackson, with sophomore Daryl Richardson likely to get the bulk of carries in 2013. As well as Isiah Pead and Zac Stacy both slated to get a handful of carries and be role players in 2013.

The Rams made some big moves in free agency, adding left tackle Jake Long to solidify the offensive line in front of Sam Bradford who many pick to be one of the better QB's in the NFL in a span of about 3 years. While also giving the quarterback another talented target in tight end Jared Cook. First-round draft pick Tavon Austin will start and return kicks and punts, but should see plenty of targets at wide receiver regardless.

2013 Tennessee Titans Preview

The 2013 Tennessee Titans will be led by third year quarterback Jake Locker. This will be the first season in his young career in which Locker will have full reign of the Titan offense. Locker has been quoted as saying that it’s been a welcomed challenge to this point, and he feels as if a weight has been lifted off of him not having to battle it out with veteran Matt Hassleback for the starters role. Locker has also been sleeping much better thanks to the revamping of his offensive line this offseason. The Titans have brought in G Andy Levitre, and also drafted G Chance Warmack out of the University of Alabama with their first pick in the 2013 draft. The Titans have quickly went from one of the league’s worst, to one of the league’s best offensive lines. Running behind them will be all-pro Chris Johnson. Johnson, maybe even more so than Locker, is ecstatic about the pieces brought in to help patch his o-line. Johnson has publicly suffered the past two seasons trying to run behind the Titans line. He should be back to his old self this year. His backup, brought in through free agency, is now Shonn Greene; formerly of the New York Jets. Greene is a legitimate backup and can expect to see plenty of playing time as well. The cast outside remains the same; Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, and second year man Kendall Wright will be Locker’s main options. They also drafted a WR out of Tennessee, Justin Hunter, who figures to play a key role in the Titans offense as well. We round out the offense by talking about two exciting pieces brought in to help Locker even further. Delanie Walker was brought in as a tight end following the departure of Jared Cook to St. Louis. Walker played for the Superbowl contending San Francisco 49ers, and was figured to be the Titans starting TE this season. However; that may, or may not have changed when just recently the Titans announced that they are in talks with the Philadelphia Eagles for acquiring TE Brent Celek. Celek is very familiar with new owner Loren Lazaroe, and would only enhance this offense that much more. This season and the future is looking very bright for Titan offense. With some key pieces in place here, Locker should be able to progress nicely through this first year.

Upfront for the defense, the Titans are led by RE Kamerion Wimbley. Wimbley, a valuable pass rusher, has shown flashes of stardom in his scrimmage games. Playing opposite him will be third year starter Derrick Morgan. Morgan is a young, tough LE who can generate tons of QB pressure and plays well against the run as well. Inside, the Titans are figured to be set for a while. Third year stud, Jurrell Casey (USC), is a massive force in the trenches. And on side of him, second year player Mike Martin (Michigan) will also be valuable to the defense. Calling the plays for this D will be Colin McCarthy, who beat out Moise Fokou in the preseason battle. Outside of him, the Titans will field two more young, upbeat players in ROLB Zach Brown and LOLB Akeem Ayers. The front seven of these Titans are loaded with young talent and athleticism. On the corners, the Titans will be anchored by Jason McCourty and Alterraun Verner. The rookie from UCONN, Blidi Wreh-Wilson, will play the nickel position after beating out Tommie Campbell for that role. Veterans George Wilson and Michael Griffin, who must feel like old men on this defense full of youngsters, will hold up the back end for another year. Both have been very impressed with how this defense has glued together this offseason and are anxious to get this season started.

Return man Marc Mariani will be in charge of both punt and kick returns once again. The 26 year old speedster from Montana retained his job after beating out RB Darius Reynaud for the role. Kicking duties will once again be handled by Rob Bironas, and punting will be handled by Brett Kern.

The 2013 Tennessee Titans will have to go through some serious competition in the AFC South to make a playoff run. But either way, this team is set up nicely for the future. And you can be assured head coach Mike Munchack and owner Loren Lazaroe will do everything possible to have this team back in winning form and fighting for playoff births.

2013 Chicago Bears Preview



Ownership



When Billionaire and life long Bears fan Charles Ellison acquired the Chicago Bears from Virginia McCasky, there was a sense that Ellison would unite the Bears fan base. This indeed happened and it has energized Bears fans who had become doubtful of the McCasky's after fan favorite and hall of fame middle LBer Brian Urlacher retired following what most seemed to think was forced. This is clearly an organization that needs a firm direction as they are an aging defense with many decisions to make after the 2013 season. Ellison has been compared to a less controlling Jerry Jones, but clearly will have his fingerprints on the drafting and player signings as he will serve a co-GM. "I made my billions turning companies with potential into winners. I have been around football my whole life, I have watched this franchise like a hawk. You better believe I'm going to do what it takes to surround myself with the smartest football people in the game. The Bears are in good hands" said Ellison at his press conference.

Coaching


In one of the many questionable decisions made by previous Bears owner Virginia McCasky, Marc Trestman was hired after Lovie Smith was fired. Trestman enters back into the NFL after coaching the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL. An accomplished QB's coach, Trestman should help QB Jay Cutler emerge as a more steady presence this season. One thing of note, is that new Chicago Bears owner Charles Ellison will keep Trestman on a short leash and will not hesitate to replace him should the Bears stumble.

Offense


When the Bears failed to make the playoffs last year with a record of 10-6, many expected major changes. Those changes did not happen, but we can expect the team to transition to a younger core should the 2013 Bears not make a big splash. Returning to lead the Bears is Jay Cutler, the strong armed QB is in the mold of Brett Favre and looks to improve his TD to INT ratio this year under first year head coach Marc Trestman. With a solid backfield of familiar faces RB Matt Forte and RB Michael Bush, they will be a formidable duo. The WR core features "The Original Beast" Brandon Marshall who is still very much in his prime. Starting opposite to him will be second year WR Alshon Jeffry. Jeffry showed flashes of how talented he can be and looks to put together a solid sophmore NFL season. The slot belongs to the NFLs all time leading return man Devin Hester. The offseason saw the Bears sign TE Martellius Bennett away from the New York Giants, who should prove to be a reliable safety valve for Cutler. After having the worst offensive line in football in 2012, the Bears got some injection of youth when they drafted Kyle Long form Oregon to sure up the RG position. They signed big time LT Jermon Bushrod, LG Matt Slauson and will have RT J'Marcus Webb.

Defense


The Chicago Bears defense looks to return the majority of it's starters from a year ago, but took a heavy loss with the retirement of hall of fame Midde Linebacker Brian Urlacher. Still boasting a ferocious D-Line, which features Peppers, McClellin, Melton and Rookie Cornelius Washington. The LBers are lead by All-Pro ROLB Lance Briggs, adding DJ Williams in the offseason and James Anderson to LOLB. MLB Jon Bostic also looks to get time. Tillman & Jennings perhaps the most ball hawking NFL CB duo return, with Bowman and Hayden. Owner Charles Ellison waisted little time fortifying the Safety spot as he traded for FS Patrick Chung who will start alongside Major Wright. Expect the Bears defense to once again feast on NFL offenses as they have been nicknamed "Turnover City"

2013 Baltimore Ravens Season Preview
​

Everyone will be gunning to take down the defending Super Bowl Champs this year. With Joe Flacco's huge FA contract signing this year, expectations are high. Jacoby Jones and Torrey Smith will be an unstoppable WR duo and Ray Rice will continue to increase his production. The retirement of Ray Lewis will not be felt with the additions of defensive ends Canty and Spears providing the necessary veteran leadership that will hold the defense together. The possible return of Pollard at SS will also help this defense tremendously.

Ravens will make the playoffs and go 10-6. The odds of repeating are slim, but don't count them out.
Super Bowl berth against the Seahawks. Ravens 24- Seahawks 21.

2013 Carolina Panthers Season Preview

The Panthers have suddenly come under new ownership as Jerry Richardson has decided he can no longer keep up with his ownership duties. David Rector, a life long fan of the Panthers, has become the new owner. While the media is throwing out baseless rumors that Rector might move the Panthers to a bigger market he has come out and said the Panthers will stay in Charlotte as long as he is the owner.

The Panthers haven't had much to say on special teams since the days of Steve Smith returning kicks and punts about 10 years ago. That all changes this year with the addition of dominant return man Ted Ginn Jr. Will the Panthers get a punt/kick return for TD for the first time in a while this year? It is definitely possible.

HOUSTON TEXANS 2013 PREVIEW

Former Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints head coach, father of current defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and recent financial mogul in the sausage and oil businesses, Phillips has bought out the majority stock of the Houston Texans franchise for a purported sum of near $1.5 billion.

The Texans filled some important holes in the offseason by signing top notch free agents FB Greg Jones, LB Joe Mays and FS Ed Reed as well as 1st round draft pick out of Clemson WR DeAndre Hopkins, all of whom look to make immediate impacts:





While the clock may be ticking and the window closing on stars such as Schaub, Johnson and Reed, the 2013 Houston Texans look to leave it all out on the field and have a successful campaign.

2013-14 San Francisco 49ers Team Preview-

Coming off a tragic Super Bowl lost the 49ers changed ownership bringing in a life time fan, Alex Richards to get them over the hump. The 49ers are facing tough odds to make it back to the big game. Today we will take a look at previews for the offense, defense, and special teams for the upcoming season.

Offense-
QB- Colin Kaepernick will be coming off a Super Bowl run in his sophomore campaign after only starting 9 games before it. Now Kaepernick gets a full year to work with the offense, the whole preseason to work with the first team and this should help him out a lot. Kaep has a strong arm and his accuracy continues to get better. Look for him to have an MVP type year Another player to watch is back up rookie BJ Daniels. Running QB's have a tendency to get hurt so Daniels could get a shot at some point this year.
HB- 49ers have tons of depth at RB with Gore, Hunter, Lattimore, James, and Dixon. Gore is getting older and this could be his last good year starting for the 49ers. He is still a .top 10 back in the league and will continue to strive. A player to watch is rookie Marcus Lattimore. After coming off a terrible knee injury he fell to the Niners in the 4th round and San Fran is planning to groom him to be the next big starting RB.
WR- This group will only have 2 returning players from last year's team, Crabtree and Williams (who is coming off ACL surgery). Anquin Boldin was the big get this offseason for the 49ers and will look great as a number 2 option at WR this year. After that it is all up in the air. The #3 WR spot is up in the air between rookie Quinton Patton, Ricardo Lockette who has looked great this offseason, and returner Kyle Williams. The player to watch out of this group is Patton who came from LA Tech a school that doesn't play difficult opponents and Patton's draft stock was hurt because of it, look for him to prove naysayers wrong!
TE- All you have to say Vernon Davis, stud. And him and Kaep are looking to have a big year together. 49ers also drafted a TE in the 2nd round, Vance McDonald out of Rice. He will play a big part in the offense with the 49ers playing a lot of 2 TE sets
OL- Arguably the best in the NFL but have some weakness at Center and RG. Daniel Kilgore is looking to take over the snapping duties from Goodwin but the competition is tough right now.

Defense-
DL- In most packages the 49ers only will have 2 true linemen on the line and 2 pass rushing linebackers. Lining up left to right on the line will be, Ahmad Brooks, Ray McDonald, Justin Smith, and Aldon Smith. When the Niners go into a 3-4 UDFA from 2 years ago Ian Williams is slated to play at NT.
LB- Arguably the best linebackers in the game is led by team captain and All-Pro Patrick Willis and lining up next to him is another All-Pro Navarro Bowman. The MLB tandem is the best in the NFL and is a force to be reckon with. The OLB are pretty good themselves. at ROLB, Aldon Smith who had a team leading 19.5 sacks and is considered one of the best pass rushers in the game. On the opposite side is Ahmad Brooks who has been a consistent part of the defense for the past couple of years.
Secondary- After recently trading Culliver the starters at corner back are slated to be Carlos Rogers and Tarell Brown. The 3rd CB is a proven stud in the past but the last couple years have been bad for him, Nnamdi Asomugha. Starting at SS for the 3rd year in a row for the Niners is hard hitting, Donte Whitner who has been criticized for his coverage skills. Starting at the free safety position is first round draft pick is Eric Reid who the 49ers thought was the best safety in the draft. He will be replacing pro bowler Dashon Goldson so Reid has big shoes to fill.
The 49ers defense is one of the best in the league and they will be tough to score on all year long.

Offensive MVP- Colin Kaepernick, after breaking out last year after being the back up expect him to have an even better year with all the first team reps.
Defensive MVP- Navarro Bowman, he is quickly becoming just as good as Patrick Willis and is ready to have his best season of his career.
Offensive Player to look out for- Marcus Lattimore, he would of been a first round pick if it wasn't for his terrible injury last year, he will eventually be the number 2 back this year and will be looking to get the torched past to him by Frank Gore in the upcoming years.
Defensive Player to look out for- Ian Williams, he was undrafted out of college but Coach Harbaugh loves what he has shown the past 2 years and he will take over the NT position this year. He might have a short leash though so watch for that.
Offensive ROY- Quinton Patton- The 49ers WR corps is slim after Crabtree and Boldin and Patton has shown in camp that he can step up and be the #3 receiver and put up good numbers.
Defensive ROY- Eric Reid- First round draft pick this year is a hard hitting safety and is slowly becoming a good coverage safety as well. He will be an important part of this defense and if he plays well this defense will be the best in the league

OFFENSE

The New England Patriots Offense starts and ends with 3 time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady. The Patriots offense however has alot of question marks on offense losing Wes Welker in the offseason and signing Danny Amendola to replace Welker in the slot. The Patriots went out and drafted 3 rookie WR's 1 of which the Pats have high hopes on in Aaron Dobson. The loss of Aaron Hernandez could hurt but the Patriots expect a healthy Gronkowski and will need his production if they are to be sucessfull. We may see the Patriots turn into more of a power run team with the emergence of Stevan Ridley.

UPDATE:

We have received work that the Patriots have re-aquired Wes Welker sending Lagarette Blount in the deal so that gives the Patriots another weapon at WR which they desperately needed pending league approval





DEFENSE

Under New management the coaching staff stepped right in and declared that the Patriots would be switching to a full 4-3 attacking defense as the moved Jerrod Mayo back to MLB as well as making a trade sending Brandon Spikes to Minnesota for speed rusher Everson Griffen. The Patriots have a talented group at LB including Donta Hightower and rookie Jamie Collins. The Backend has its fair share of talent as well with Talib, Denard, and Arrington at CB with Mccourtey moving to the FS spot and the offseason acquisition of long time Cardinal Adrian Wilson.




Outlook

The Patriots are no longer the sure thing in a stacked and talented AFC East with alot of young talent as well as a defensive and offensive change in philosophy. Only time will tell if these moves pay off. Its going to be a tough battle as all 4 teams slug it out but the Patriots feel confident that they will challenge for the AFC East crown once again.

This Week in shocking news the Detroit Lions announced that former University of Georgia, and former Atlanta Falcons Strong Safety Heath Howard purchased the team. Howard was an outstanding hard hitting safety when he played causing a lot of problems on the field! "I woke up this morning and talked to my wife and said why not buy the franchise?" Howard said. "Its something I've been wanting to do for a while!" added Howard.

Howard fits in very well with this team as an owner. His starting Quarterback Matthew Stafford is also a UGA Alum. The players on defense just love the way Howard use to play the game! "Mr. Howard has brought in a lot of talent for us this Off season." Stafford stated. This season the Lions will have a whole different looking Offense along with some extra pieces on Defense.

On Offense the Lions will still be led by out standing QB Matt Stafford and WR Calvin Johnson Jr.


At the HB position they add Electrifying Reggie Bush


At TE they will have Split time with Pettigrew, Scheffler, and new addition Morrah




On Defense The Lions will be led by there outstanding D Line with Suh, Fairley, New addition Jason Jones, and Rookie Ezekiel Ansah


At LB it will be Anchored by MLB Stephen Tulloch


The Defensive Backs will have Vet Chris Houston, and soon to become a household name Chris Greenwood, and Rookie Darius Slay


and Safeties Louis Delmas, new additions Glover Quinn, and Vet Rashean Mathis





The Lions are very excited about this upcoming season! They have a lot to prove. "No one thinks we can contend" Howard said. Then he added "I'm here to change that."

Keep your eyes on the Lions, they will show you all something! Good luck to everyone this season!

It's going to be a rough year and possibly a few for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Offensively they are led by weak armed Alex Smith. Deadly accurate but anything longer than 10 yards and the ball is easy pickings for DB's. The team will rely heavily on Jamal Charles to carry the load and move the chains. With a decent OL to run behind, Charles should be able to keep the Chiefs in some games. He just needs to stay healthy. The weakest position on the roster is WR. It's no secret, the Chiefs are actively shopping to get another WR to compliment Dwayne Bowe. They've dangled maligned ROLB Tamba Hali but have had only a few nibbles thus far.

Defensively the Chiefs are sitting pretty with young, strong talent. A talented LB core led by MLB Dennis Johnson and youngster LOLB Justin Houston will make running the ball tough on opposing teams. That leads team to start chucking the ball up. Early this preseason, blown assignments have been major problems for this young secondary. Brandon Flowers and Eric Berry lead a young secondary that will get better as the season progresses.

Special teams really isn't special. Puss leg Ryan Succop is back as is Dustin Colquitt. McCluster will handle the return duties and should have plenty of touchbacks...

2013 Washington Redskins
​

Offense:
The Washington Redskins come into the start of the 2013 season with one thing in mind.... not being at the bottom of the totem pole of this monster of a division in the NFC East. The Redskins field a squad of young ballers with some experience sprinkled in.. in hopes of being the NFC East Champs for the 2nd year in a row.

On the offensive side of the ball.. QB - leads this group of men. It's not all about the legs with this guy under Coach Jon.... as Griffin likes to stay in the pocket and deliver passes to anyone that's willing to catch from his receiving group:

The receiving corp. is clearly not the sexiest picks in the NFL... not the big names of the NFL... but a stable full of guys that can play and will go out and compete at a high level when their numbers are called.

But let's not forget... The Skins also have a couple of guys in the backfield that can get it done with FB - Young leading the way.

Morris speed may not be up to par with the other backs in the league... but he can run that ball with the best of them and will be called upon heavily to carry the load for his team.
Helu will serve as the primary back-up to Morris.. he has solid speed and the guy can flat out run... and will shake & bake when necessary!


Defense:
The Redskins knew exactly what they needed on the defensive side of the ball and addressed it in the draft. Defensive back help was a must have. Rookie FS - Bacarri Rambo will start week 1 alongside SS - Brandon Meriweather.

Rookie SS - Thomas will pitch in as well and as needed throughout the season.

The Redskins have pretty solid depth at CB. Wilson & Hall will get the 1 & 2 respectfully.. but youngsters Murphy.. Biggers.. & rookie Amerson will see some nickel.. dime & quarter packages.

The Redskins know that every division game matters in the NFC East and will have to play mistake free football to stand a chance to be on top in the division. We will play a game of 1st downs.. a game of field position.. we have to leave it all out there on the field but play smart. We have had some good scrimmages in the off-season and we're just looking forward to the start of the season and seeing how we match-up against the competition here at The 'Q'.

East Rutherford, NJ- The NY football Giants come into the 2013 season with a chip on there shoulder. After there disappointing 9-7 season a year ago, the GMen feel like they have much to prove. It all starts with the arm of Eli Manning. The Giants also made a move upstairs as James Music takes over ownership in a sense of leading the "proven to be successful" squad back to destiny. We qouted Music earlier in the week when we asked him how the team looked. "They've been grinding each day...lots of progress. There getting better and better each day. Everyone has one thing on there mind. This squad is not only focused but determined to get at it." The Giants defense is another focal point. Last year they lacked the rush and were at the near bottom of the league in total defense. With Music's vision, BIG BLUE is in gear for another quality season.

QB Elisha "Eli" Nelson Manning - Clearly Eli is elite right?...i mean its in the name.
WR Victor Cruz - Speedy and nearly unguardable. Lots of trouble in coverage.

Denver Broncos 2013 Team Preview

QB – Let’s start with the controversy. You would think the living legend Peyton Manning is the unquestioned started this season….not so fast my friends! The organization is really high on 2nd year man Brock Osweiler who has impressed in camp this offseason. The Broncos feel he is the heir apparent to Manning who may be in his last season in the NFL, but some also feel he is ready to take over the reigns right now. Should Osweiler continue to learn under Manning or should he be given the keys to the truck? We will pay close attention to how this unfolds during the preseason.

RB – The team acquired a battering ram in Legarette Blount adding to an already young and talented RB core. The team will look to run the ball more in 2013 bringing more balance to the offense. The question is will 2nd year man Ronnie Hillman give them that change of pace they need to go along with Blount/Ball.​

TE – With veteran Joel Dreezen gone, the TE core are younger and more athletic. Look for them to be more involved in the offense this season. Jacob Tamme has the edge on the starting spot but Julius Thomas is right on his heels.

WR’s – Well Welker didn’t last very long in blue and orange. If he remained in Denver he would have been forced to play #1 or #2 (league rules) and that wasn't going to work in this offense. So he was shipped back to Tom Brady and company in the trade for Blount. This is ok as the team has plenty of talent at this spot, led by WR Demaryus Thomas. The team also has a trade in place for WR Louis Murphy to add more speed and depth to the position.​

Secondary – This cornerback core is one of the best in the league. Bailey, Cromartie, and Harris are ball hawks and there are good young talent on the bench as well. The safeties are youthful and have a lot of potential. Veteran safety/CB Quintin Jammer is playing the role of mentor at this point in his career but has shown he still has what it takes to play at a high level in this league.​

2013 ATLANTA FALCONS PREVIEW

1. REPLACING MICHEAL TURNER WITH STEVEN JACKSON



With last season the Falcons was rank 29th in net rushing yards per game. Micheal Turner 2008 third place MVP voting fell off the production cliff badly. Run ability dropping and limited receiving ability Atlanta was in need of something then falls in free agency Steven Jackson. A physical specimen hasn't shown any signs of decline ability. Given his versatility in the passing game, Jackson should help the Falcons crack the top five in total offense this season and, perhaps, scoring offense, as well.

2. DEFENSE WILL SHOW BIG IMPROVE OVER LAST SEASON



Under the guidance of 2nd year defensive coordinator Mike Nolan the Falcons should be more multiple — confusing opposing quarterbacks, like Peyton Manning last season — and better-schooled in Nolan’s philosophy, which should definitely lead to improvement. In some ways, that’s not stepping out on a limb. The Falcons ranked 24th in total defense, including 29th against the run. If they can move up in those rankings, say, five spots, it could make a huge difference.

3. TOUGH ROAD AHEAD EXTREMELY DIFFICULT SCHEDULE

New Orleans on the road 1st game is no picnic. Nor is facing the Patriots on a nationally televised home game. What stands out the most is the December schedule: Three of the five games come against playoff teams from last year — including road tilts with the NFC champion 49ers and formidable Packers (prime-time start at usually frigid Lambeau Field).

Lastly, coming off the short week after making the cross-country trip to San Francisco on a Monday night, the Falcons finish up against Carolina in what could be a key division game. It won't be a cakewalk, by any means.

PREDICTIONS

The Falcons will go 9-7 but playoff glory remains within reach Sticking with my preseason prediction ... the Falcons have the talent and coaching staff to reach the Super Bowl and claim a Lombardi Trophy, but certain pratfalls await. The schedule is one. So is the possibility of injuries to certain key players, such as left corner Asante Samuel, who seems increasingly injury-prone at age 32. Starting two rookie cornerbacks (Robert Alford, Desmond Trufant) is hardly a well-worn path to a Super Bowl. The offensive line is troublesome. One wrong hit on Ryan could upend the whole deal. As with every Super Bowl team, everything has to align in exactly the right way.

The Green Bay Packers have a new owner in town and his name is Chris Steudle. The multi-billionaire was able to take control of the team when he presented an offer to the shareholders that couldn't be refused. Although actual numbers haven't been released, but its rumored that the team was sold for $2.5 billion dollars. Mr. Steudle grew up in an upper middle class family but gained his fortune betting on the games that he loves so much. After placing in top ten in back to back years at the World Series of Poker he turned to sports betting. Relying on advice from a popular ESPN radio host, Colin Cowherd, he would place wagers based on Colin's blazin five NFL picks each week. Using his 2+ Million dollar poker earnings he bet the blazin five each and every week for 3 years and amassed a billion dollar fortune leading him to the NFL looking to purchase a franchise. His first choice was the Washington Redskins and a deal was all but done when Dan Schneider decided to make an 11th hour deal with Jon Hawkins, WarHawk aka Dreadman, instead. Chris then knocked on the city of Green Bay's door and a deal was made allowing him to purchase the Packers. (I know its a stretch....but what the hell)

This years schedule gets started with a bang as Green Bay heads outwest to take on the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers. Week 2 the Packers open up there home schedule when the Washington Redskins come to town. Because of the resentment for the former owner of the Redskins Mr. Steudle has placed huge emphasis on beating the Redskins.

Aaron Rodgers leads the high powered Green Bay Offense. With Greg Jennings off to Minnesota 2nd year WR Randall Cobb will need to step up and fill some big shoes left by Jennings. Jordy Nelson and James Jones will also be looked upon to keep the high powered air attack status quo. After looking unimpressive in his first scrimmage rookie RB Eddie Lacy steped it up in his second game but you can expect to see speedster DuJuan Harris take away a few carries from Lacy this season.

On Defense you can expect more of the same from the Packers in 2013/14. Clay Matthews has a new contract paying him $66 Million over 6 years and he will be relied upon along with AJ Hawk to cause disruption to opposing offenses. One weak spot appears to be in the secondary particularly at Safety. Look for this to be an area of concentration either in preseason free agency, thru trade or worst case the 2014 draft.

Ownership has changed hands from the Wilson family directly into the hands of Michael Overman. Mr. Overman had interest in acquiring a NFL ball club and the Bills were available for various reasons. Some things we love about the bills, but some things have to change. The stadium has one of the worst ratings in the league, and the new ownership is NOT onboard with half of our damn home games being played in CANADA? you get what I'm saying ehhhh?

Quarterbacks:

The starter is young. EJ Manuel is a 23 year old QB out of Florida State University. He has been around big programs, and the spotlights. He is ready for the full load of being a QB in the NFL. He is young and he will make mistakes, but he will also get better every day. Kevin Kolb does not figure into the Bills plans this year unless an emergency ensues. The backup QB is rookie Jeff Tuel who is 6'3 221 lbs. and played his college ball at Washington State.




Runners:

CJ Spiller has been a playmaker ever since his days at Clemson. The coaching staff has fully embraced his excellence and he is prepared to be a main cog in the Buffalo Bills offensive plans this season. Fred Jackson is a valued vetran behind Spiller, and will see plenty of action. They are paired with an impressive FB in Dickerson.

Receivers:

The veteran Stevie Johnson is an excellent pass catcher and route runner, he reminds me of Roddy White. Rated an 85, Stevie is the leader of this WR group. TJ Graham is a 2nd year player who is an 80 overall, and boasts an impressive and noticeable 96 speed. WR Marquise Goodwin is going to be a name you will see on the highlight reels. This kid is explosive, dynamic, and a born play-maker. He is now the 3rd WR on the depth chart and in the slot, but he may work his way up the depth chart into a top 2 spot.




Off-Line:

The highlight of the offensive line is LT 89 rated Cordy Glenn, a 343 lb. rookie out of the University of Georgia. He is 23 years old, and looks to be the person to protect EJ Manuel's backside for the duration of his career. On the right side of the line you have Clemson alumni Chris Hairston who at 330 lbs., is a force and a young force at that as he is 24. Book.Ends. (Book.Tackles). In the Center you have first round pick Eric Wood, who has proved to be reliable and sturdy.






Def-Line:

This is very possible the highlight of the Bills defense. The leader of the defensive line is veteran and well paid Mario Williams. He was the first pick in the draft 7 years ago, when many thought the Texans would pick Reggie Bush. I think the Texans picked right in this case. The next veteran on the list is Kyle Williams, he seems to be the tackle machine of the line to date. DT Marcell Dareus is an oustanding player and plays right next to Kyle Williams. I'd rather have Dareus and Williams then Suh and Fairley call me crazy. The other end spot is held down by DE Alan Branch out of Michigan. I always liked him in college, and he has plaeyd very well for us to date. The line is pretty stacked with talent.






Backers:

Manny Lawson is the fastest of the bunch boasting an impressive 88 speed. When you factor in his build, 6'5 240 lbs.- he is one scary dude. Jerry Hughes a former first round pick has 85 speed, and has done well in training camp to date. He will produce nicely for the Bills this year. The Bills are really counting on FSU MLB Nigel Bradham, this is his 2nd year and he is expected to fully take over the starting MLB job.





Secondary:

The safeties group is an impressive one. They are led by Jarius Byrd a 97 Overall, and easily one of the best safeties in the game of Madden this year. On the other side you have Rookie Duke Williams out of Nevada. He is fast and hits hard, and we are excited about his play. CB Stephon Gilmore is the leader of the cornerbacks and you can already tell he is a special player. Veteran speedster Leodis McKelvin will play oppoosite of Gilmore, and should be a solid starter.

After last year's disappointing 7-9 season the San Diego Chargers cleaned house in the front office firing both Head Coach Norv Turner and General Manager A.J. Smith. In January the Chargers announced that former Broncos Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy would be the team's new head coach along with former Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt as the team's new Offensive Coordinator.

With the hiring of both McCoy and Whisenhunt it is apparent that the new Chargers owner Mike Caudell has made improving his team's offense his number one goal. While Chargers fans hope to see an immediate turn around for their team Caudell understands that it takes time to build a team into a champion.

The Cleveland Browns went into the offseason knowing and realizing that the time is now for them to win. To mentor Brandon Weeden, they brought in one of the best offensive coordinators, Norv Turner. This new addition should help with Weeden's maturation process on the field. The offensive line is a solid unit anchored by standout LT Joe Thomas. Center A. Mack is one if the best in the league. The WR corp got a much needed boost with the addition of M. Manningham. He wasn't happy in the system in San Fran and just wanted out. But what really has the offense excited is the growth of WR's J. Gordon and T. Benjamin. TE J. Cameron is on the cusp of being very good player. And what can we say about RB T. Richardson, speed and power in one back. The team is expecting big things from him this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, there are a lot new faces. Prior to the new owner taking over ROLB Paul Kruger and RE/DT D. Bryant were brought in to assist with the switch to a 3-4/hybrid defense. Kruger coming off a Super Bowl championship run with the Ravens which he had 8 sacks in the post season. LOLB J. Sheard was moved from DE and has been excelling in training camp and preseason games. Also the team drafted DE/ROLB B. Mingo out of LSU in the 1st round. He's a freak of nature and is sure to be a All Pro for years to come. CB J. Haden is a stud at cb and sure to be a shut down cb for years to come.

Once the new management took over, they still weren't satisfied with the defensive make-up. So they reached out to the niners for the CB C. Culliver. At 1st the Niners weren't receptive to trading but after some prodding they changed their tune. To our good fortune, the niners also wanted to jettison WR M. Manningham. So the deal was set, Browns 1st round pick for CB C. Culliver, M. Manningham and a 3rd rounder. The team was unsure they would be able to sign SS T.J. Ward for the kind of money he wanted, so they thought it was best to trade him before the season starts. The team reached out to the Vikings for CB C. Cook, they were open to negotiation. The deal was set, T.J. Ward for CB C. Cook and a 2nd round. Rumor has it Cook could be moved to FS. When asked about this move, he replied "I'm willing to do anything to help the team be a winner".

Teams need to know that there are no easy wins in Cleveland. The Browns are definitely a team that's on the rise. In a division that boast 4 teams that could easily make run at the playoffs, this is definitely gonna be an interesting season to say the least.

New York Jets 2013 Season Preview

A fresh start in New York has the Jets with high hopes for the future, with a new team owner TJ Mims, who is also taking the reigns and assuming the role of President of Football Operations. The Jets have begun their rebuild by purging the roster of veteran talent and pricey contracts. With the trade of All-Pr CB Darrelle Revis, the Jets were able to bring the talents of 1st rounders CB-Dee Milliner and DE-Sheldon Richardson. In the 2nd round, the Jets were ecstatic to see the likes of Geno Smith still on the board. With the likes of Mark "Butt-Fumble" Sanchez still the starting QB, this pick proved to be a no-brainer. Geno Smith has beaten out Mark Sanchez for the starting job and will start the new era of NY Jets football in 2013.

Owner TJ Mims has not completely tipped his hand, but the Jets will most likely look to cut the likes of Mark Sanchez and his recently signed $60 million contract, a costly mistake of the Mike Tannenbaum era. He will also look to build a high-powered offense to go along with Rex Ryan's vaunted 3-4 defense.



OFFENSE

There is much to be desired, or proven for this New York Jets offense. Rookie QB Eugene (Geno) Smith will be starting for the Jets under center when they take on Darrelle Revis and the Tampa Bay Bucs in week 1. Newly acquired RBs Chris Ivory and Mike Goodson will share the bulk of the carries in the backfield. Ivory is a more violent and versatile version of the departed Shonn Greene, who had hands of stone and fell over at first impact. Ivory runs through defenders, while Goodson makes his living running around defenders.




Wide Receivers Santonio Holmes, Stephen Hill, and Jeremy Kerley prove to be a viable trio of WRs, but Holmes is coming off a Lisfranc injury to his right foot, and Stephen Hill is yet to put the pieces together. Hill is highly talented, and comes in at 6'4 with 4.3 speed that can take the top off of a defense, but until he learns the nuances of his position, he's just another player with loads of potential.



DEFENSE

The strength of the team, this unit is led by pro-bowler Antonio Cromartie, and the incredibly talented men up front in Mohammad Wilkerson, Quinton Coples, and Sheldon Richardson. This unit has what it takes to put pressure on any QB that lines up across them. Signed for the cheap, Antawn Barnes is a pass rushing specialist who can come off edge as fast as anyone in the NFL. He will bookend the OLB position with Coples, who makes the transition to rush linebacker. Tackling machine David Harris will team up with the youthful and very fast Demario Davis. Davis is taking the place of ancient Bart Scott, and will provide a much needed infusion of youth and speed to a defense that had gotten old and slow over the years. Davis is already proving to be a leader on the field and in the locker room, and Harris feels that Demario has exactly what it takes to be great, and lead this team to a top-ranked defense.




Newly acquired brother of former Jet Laron Landry is his brother Dawan, who has played on the Baltimore Ravens Rex Ryan led defense before. He will man the middle of the field and be the man making the calls for the secondary. Antonio Cromartie is joined by DeMarcus (Dee) Milliner, a physical and very athletic CB who is tasked with replacing the future HOF CB Darrelle Revis. Kyle Wilson will man the slot, and 2nd year player Josh Bush is expected to make the start at SS.



Predictions:

The New York Jets have a lot of work to do before they can compete. Expect the Jets to struggle on the offensive side of the ball until Geno Smith gets his feet on the ground, which could be a few years. The defense will keep the Jets in games, but don't expect this team to make the playoffs in 2013. I'd say best case scenario would be 9 wins, but the prediction for the Jets this season will be 8-8, as they have too much talent to overcome in their very own division with the likes of New England, Miami, and Buffalo.

2013 TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS TEAM PREVIEW

The Buccaneers were busy in the off season after a disappointing 7-9 finish.
Faced with a subpar defensive ranking against the pass from 2012, the front office moved aggressively to trade for difference-making cornerback Darrelle Revis, sign safety Dashon Goldson and draft highly-touted collegian Johnathan Banks in the second round to shore up a very shaky defensive backfield.

Tampa Bay fielded the league’s worst passing defense in 2012 (4,758 yards allowed) and went to work to shore up its secondary with a pair of huge free-agent signings that should remedy that issue this season.
The proof is in the pudding, though, and Darrelle Revis and Dashon Goldson are going to have to prove they were worth the price.
Revis, on the heels of a couple tumultuous seasons with the New York Jets, didn’t get the new contract he was looking for, instead being dealt to the Bucs for the 13th pick in the 2013 NFL draft and a conditional pick in the 2014 draft.

Following that trade, Tampa Bay locked up the league’s best cornerback to a six-year, $96 million deal. The best part? The Bucs included no guaranteed money in the contract, meaning if Revis’ injury problems creep up again while in Tampa Bay, the team will have effectively negated the monetary concerns.
Goldson, meanwhile, was one of the biggest names to hit free agency this offseason, but with the San Francisco 49ers unwilling to pay the 29-year-old safety the money he was looking for, Goldson hit the open market with a bevy of potential suitors waiting to pounce.
The Bucs pulled the trigger on a five-year, $41.25 million contract for Goldson, who stands to make Tampa Bay’s safety duo one of the top units in the league. The Bucs were not done there after addressing the defensive backfield.
The team also went out and signed defensive tackle Mike Pattterson, defensive ends Armonte Bryant and Justin Francis, and strong safety Winston Guy.
Patterson who is a 9 year vet will help on the DL. He has put up 17 sacks, 1 interception, forced 4 fumbles and he has a nose for the ball recovering 8 balls while also returning 1 for a touchdown.
Armonte Bryant is a rookie who was undrafted and is a big Hitter with tremendous swim moves and he will get pressure.
Justin Francis , who is only 24 is a 1 year vet and put up 3 sacks and 13 tackles in his rookie season playing in only 2 games. Francis who was also undrafted is another big Hitter who is a bull rusher and although still raw will be developed to eventually take over the left defensive end role.

The Bucs also as active on the offensive side of the ball extending the contract of WR Vincent Jackson
that'll pay him more than $55 million for five more seasons.Now entering his ninth NFL year, he established a career-high with 72 catches, eclipsed 1,000 yards for the fourth time en route to a career-high 1,384 and led the NFL with a yards-per-catch clip of 19.2 yards -- also his personal best. He scored eight times, including a 95- yarder, and gives Freeman a legitimate top end target through the air.
The Bucs also signed Kevin Ogletree to a deal. Ogletree who was with Dallas last season is a 4 year vet . Ogletree had 32 catches for 436 yards and 4 touchdowns last season and he will bring speed to the WR position to help stretch the field.
The Bucs also inked WR Mike Williams to a new 6 year contract that runs to the 2018 season that is worth $40.25 million, with $10 million in guarantees through 2014.His 23 touchdowns since 2010 are the most by any Tampa Bay player after three seasons in the league.


The team then went out in free agency and got another veteran receiver in Randy Moss and RB Jahvid Best who was released the the Lions after concussion issues forced him to sit out the entire 2012 season. Best was checked out by extensively by team doctors before he was offered a tender and Best is fit to play. A former 1st round pick in the 2010 draft , Best is a dynamic back who totaled 1042 yards from scrimmage 58 catches and 6 touchdowns as a rookie.
The team also signed veteran fullback Chris Pressley to a 1 year deal. Pressley spent the 2009 and 2010 season with the Bucs before signing with Cincinnati in 2011. Pressley will bring a strong blocking presence with him and will clear the path for Martin and Best.
The Bucs did not finish there as they also adressed the TE position when they went out an signed Tom Crabtree who played for the Packers from 2010-2012. The Team also signed tight end Nate Byham who previously played for Pittsburgh.
This brings us now to the question of Freeman.

Freeman's completion rate dipped from 62.8 to 54.8 last season, though his TDs were up by 11 (16 to 27) and his INTs dropped from 22 to 17. Freeman
who is in the last year of his rookie deal has all the tools needed now to produce and this season will be his to prove he is worthy of a new long term deal.

The Bucs were really busy in the off season and on paper have improved on both sides of the ball. Now they must translate all of the effort put into building the team to the field and hopefully a playoff apperance in 2013.

Steelers Preview

Every week in the "Q" Football league teams pretty much set out with the same basic goals in mind. Stop the run, run the ball, pressure the QB, protect the QB and so on...

Steelers love to focus on Defense and the strength of the team will be the Linebacker core of Lamarr Woodley, Lawrence Timmons and Jason Worilds . The Steelers also pick up DT Sione Pouha from FA to help slow the down the running game. Knowing The "Q" is a passing league, the Steelers have decent CB to help slow down the air attack from the upcoming opponents in Ike Taylor, William gay and Cortez Allen. lets not forget about our Safties, Ryan Clark and Try Polamalu. We understand these guys are getting older but they will still help our team get to the playoffs.


On the offence side of the ball, we have Big Ben leading the Offence and to help Ben put points on the board. The Steelers WR's need to be ready to play. Antonion Brown, Emmanuel Sanders and Rookie Markus Wheaton . With the help of the offensive line, we have a good chance to win some games this season.

Our only worries will be the running game. We can only hope that Felix Jones get the running game going and help the Steelers keep pace in that tough AFC North

2013 TEAM PREVIEW​

OFFENSE
It's no surprise that the Jaguars offense will be carried by the legs of MJD. Other than Cameron Bradfield earning the starting center position, the offensive line remains intact including their always dependable tight end, Marcedes Lewis. The latest acquisitions of rookie fullback Tommy Bohanon via waivers and tight end Scott Chandler through a trade with the Bills will provide even MORE blocking support for their coveted running back. As long as MJD can remain healthy, the Jaguars will be using the ground game to maintain a competitive presence in the AFC South.

Perhaps the biggest question on offense will be whether or not Matt Scott can guide this Jaguars team. He already had three great targets in receivers (Marcedes) Lewis, Justin Blackmon, and Cecil Shorts III. With the acquisition of wide receiver Danario Alexander through waivers and tight end (Scott) Chandler via trade; Scott has been given the tools to succeed. It is in his hands whether or not he will utilize his powerful offense to its fullest.

DEFENSE

The Jaguars defense has been a work in progress this off-season. A new defensive coaching staff brings an entirely new defensive philosophy to Jacksonville as the defense was converted from a 4-3 to a 3-4 scheme. As a result, several trades and waiver claims were completed by the Jaguars in order to obtain the necessary personnel to build and maintain a functional 3-4 system.

Defensive end Tyson Alualu is the only starter that remains from the Jaguars original 4-3 interior. The acquisitions of defensive end Lamarr Houston from the Raiders and Red Bryant from the Seahawks put the final touches on the team's starting defensive line. Roy Miller and Brandon Deaderick will maintain their positions with the team and continue to provide integral backup support. Lineman additions of note were Shaun Rogers (Giants) and Ma'ake Kemoeatu (waivers) at defensive tackle as well as Kedric Golston (waivers) and Kellen Heard (waivers) at defensive end.

Paul Posluszny will captain the defense as he and his fellow teammate, Russell Allen, remain with the team and will be managing the defense at the inside linebacker position. Rookie Laroy Reynolds and free agent acquisition Jason Williams will be starting at the outside linebacker positions. Brandon Marshall remains with the linebacker choir while Larry Grant, Kevin Reddick were also acquired via waivers to play linebacker support.

A young defensive secondary will be under great scrutiny this season. Three rookies have earned starting roles as Dwayne Gratz and Johnathan Cyprien will be starting at the safety positions and Demetrius McCray at cornerback. Second year man Antwon Blake has been asked to take on a starting role at cornerback as well. Chris Prosinski has been shifted over from his safety position and Justin Rogers was acquired through a trade with the Bills; both to backup the young defensive backs.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Some may argue that special teams play has always been a strength of the Jaguars. The new coaching staff has decided they want to make their special teams even stronger. In an exciting turn of events, second year kicker John Potter was asked to tryout for the team. Potter immediately earned the starting position following a kicking competition with veteran Josh Scobee. The addition of Potter has made Scobee the "odd man out" as Scobee has been relieved of duty and released from the team. Bryan Anger will continue to punt and perform kickoff duties for the Jaguars special teams.

Receiver Anthony Armstrong and running back Brandon Bolden were acquired via waivers this past off-season. They have been given the assignment to perform kickoff return duties for the Jaguars as the speed of Armstrong and blocking ability of Bolden will be used against their opponents. Rookie running back Denard Robinson will also participate on special teams as the Jaguars' punt return man when the need arises. The coverage teams are rounded out with a combination of speed and dependable tackling which will be necessary to prevent any unwanted returns.

SCHEDULE
There are no "easy" games on the Jaguars schedule this season. Quite frankly, there are never any games in this league that can be taken lightly. The Jaguars will be using a conservative gameplan approach to the season focusing their goal to win the AFC South. It is a high expectation, but not entirely out of reach. As long as the Jaguars focus on one week at a time and execute mistake free football, their goal will be attainable.
