The Indianapolis Colts enter the 2013-2014 season with new owner, Curtis Nesmith at the helm after purchasing the team from Jim Irsay. Nesmith inherits a young and talented team that surprised everyone by going to the playoffs a year after having the #1 overall pick. Nesmith hopes this young team can continue to grow into a title contender and he believes he has the pieces to do it.

    Offense
The offense is obviously led by last year's #1 overall pick Andrew Luck. In just one season, Luck made great strides and had the look of an NFL veteran by season's end. He will need to tone down on some of the turnovers which the front office believes he will do now that he has a season under his belt and knows what to expect. After having a shortage of playmakers on offense last season, Luck now has a plethora of offensive weapons that will make his job easier.
In the backfield Bernard Pierce comes over from the Ravens and will take over as the starting halfback. Nesmith was very impressed from what he saw from Pierce in his rookie season and is very excited to see what he can do as the leading back. Backing up Pierce and a safety valve in case Pierce isn't ready for the bright lights is Ahmad Bradshaw who was bought over by the previous regime towards the end of free agency.
At wideout is Mr. Consistent, Reggie Wayne who has built a great rapport with Luck in just their 1 season together. Lining up opposite Wayne will be former top 10 pick and labeled bust, Darrius Hayward-Bey who hopes the change of scenery will restart his career. DHB has not had a veteran wideout like Wayne to learn from in his career and the front office hopes Wayne's work ethic will rub off on DHB. The #3 and 4 receivers are Ty Hilton who exploded last year as a rookie and will push DHB for the #2 slot and 2nd year player TJ Graham whom was recently picked up from the Bills. The price tag may have been high for Graham but the Colts like what they see in Graham and his size and speed will pose matchup problems for opposing corners.
Probably the Colts deepest position is the tight end position where they have 2nd year players Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener. The versatility of these 2 will remind some of what the Patriots had in Gronkowski and Hernandez before Hernandez went Grand Theft Auto on us. Everyone knows that Luck loves throwing to his TE's and these two will be major factors in the offense.
The offensive line features a few new faces in Gosder Cherilus and Donald Thomas who came over in free agency. Anthony Constanzo will man the LT spot and Samson Satele will try to hold off the rookie Khalid Holmes at C. Rookie Hugh Thornton has supplanted McGlynn at the RG position after a strong preseason

    DEFENSE
Up front the Colts 3-4 defense will be lead by recent acquisition BJ Raji who will take over as the nose tackle. Some may question the price tag of a 1st and 3rd round pick for Raji but his ability to play all 3 positions up front while also being a pass rusher will leave no doubts in the minds of the Colts front office of whether they made the right move. Aubrayo Franklin will back up Raji at NT and may see some time on early downs due to his run stuffing ability. At DE we have Ricky Jean-Francois who comes over from the 49ers and Lawrence Guy, a 2nd year player primed for a breakout season. Ricardo Matthews and Drake Nevis will backup at DE.
At LB the group is lead by veteran Robert Mathis who will look to provide some guidance to all the young guys in this corp. Rookie Bjorn Werner will start at LOLB and will have to adjust to OLB after playing DE at Florida State in College. Sergio Kindle and Lawrence Sidbury will back up at OLB. At MLB we have Pat Angerer and Jerrell Freeman lining up as the starters. Both are very versatile and can stuff the run as well as play the pass. Kelvin Sheppard and Kavell Connor will also rotate in the MLB position.
The secondary is lead by one of the best safety combinations in the league with Antoine Bethea and Laron Landry. Vontae Davis will remain as the #1 CB fresh off signing a 5 year deal. Darius Butler and Greg Toler are still fighting for the #2 spot and will probably not know who will start until gametime. Cassius Vaughn and Pat Lee are here to provide depth and step in on dime and quarter packages.

    2013 Arizona Cardinals Preview

After changing ownership during the off-season, the Arizona Cardinals enter this season with high expectations. New owner Maykel Amador is looking to make the Arizona Cardinals a force in the NFC. During the offseason, he made some controversial moves to improve the roster, let’s see if they pay off.

    Offense:

The biggest makeover of the roster came on the offensive side of the ball. The addition of QB Michael Vick and all world RB Marshan Lynch highlight the changes. In addition, a new offence is been put in place now that Vick is running the show. “We will have a modify option offense” said the coach, however it may not come till week 2 or week 3. At WR the Cards still have Larry and a couple of youngsters with speed and great upside. The online is solid with veterans like RT Eric Winston and LT Levi Brown. All in all Arizona should be able to put up some numbers on the board with the talent they have at the moment.

    Defense:

On the defensive side of the ball, they can start with the change from the 3-4 scheme to the 4-3, with the new scheme the coaching staff feels that it would be easier to stop the run and contain the QBs in the division. The 4-3 gives an opportunity to maximize the talented group of defender that the Cards have. Moving to his natural position is OLB Abraham (LB to DE) with the move the cards hope that he will help create more pressure from the edge. Another significant move is RE Darnell Dockett moving to defensive tackle where he will play alongside pro-bowler Dan Williams. These moves should give the Cardinals a great front four. At linebackers we have a young group that has speed and coverage skills that will help them keep TEs and RBs in check. The big change came at the defensive back position where you can no longer find all world CB Peterson, who was traded to the Seahawks for lynch. However, they still have CB Browner and Cason along with rookie sensation Tyrann Mathieu and veteran Bell.

    New additions:

    QB: Michael Vick
    RB: Marchan Lynch
    CB: Brandon Browner

    Subtractions:

    CB: Peterson

    Schedule:

The only thing that is guarantee in the NFC West if a real tough schedule, when you have the 49ers, Seahawks and the improve Rams you can count on a tough schedule. As the saying goes, "sometimes to be the best you have to beat the best", it never has held more truth than now. The Cards have one of the toughest schedules in the league this year.

The Seattle Seahawks are under new ownership for 2013, as former career backup quarterback Jim Luby put together an investment group that purchased the team who drafted him in the eleventh round 30 years ago. Luby has had his hand in the personnel side of things early and often so far in his short time as owner, as he has green lighted multiple big signings and trades.

The Seattle Seahawks were one of the feel good stories in the NFL in 2012. Led by underestimated rookie QB Russell Wilson, who fell to the middle of the 3rd round in the 2012 rookie draft, the Seahawks secured an NFC Wild Card and advanced to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Jim Luby is hoping the moves he has made, as well as those yet to be made, will propel this already good team into a championship run.

    OFFENSE

    QUARTERBACK
With Russell Wilson coming off of a Pro Bowl rookie season, the Seattle offense appears to be in good hands for many years to come. While he doesn't possess prototypical size for the position, Wilson's mix of great arm strength, mobility, and accuracy makes for a very dangerous weapon under center.

    RUNNING BACK
The Seahawks said goodbye to one of the best running backs in the league last year in Marshawn Lynch. Dealt to the rival Cardinals in a blockbuster trade orchestrated by Luby, the absence of Beast Mode appears to leave a gaping hole in the Seattle backfield. Second year back Robert Turbin steps into the starters role, and the coaching staff believes he is comparable to a young Lynch. With a unique mix of speed and power, Turbin could be poised to have a breakout season. Taiwan Jones, acquired from the Raiders in a preseason trade, will provide a change of pace out of the backfield, with his blazing speed and elusiveness.

    RECEIVERS
Wilson has no shortage of targets to throw to with a receiving corp boasting weapons such as Percy harvin, Sidney Rice, and Golden Tate. Harvin, acquired early in the off-season in a trade with the Vikings, has shown great chemistry with Wilson already and is expected to be the 2nd year passer's primary target this season. Not to be forgotten is tight end Zach Miller, who has quetly developed into one of the premier tight ends in the league.

    OFFENSIVE LINE
Probably the biggest question mark on this team is the suspect offensive line. While center Max Unger and left tackle Russell Okung are solid, the rest of the squad is a collection of journeymen and unprovens. Did the organization make a big mistake in not better addressing their questionable line this off-season? Time will only tell.

    DEFENSE

    DEFENSIVE LINE
The Seahawks said goodbye to another popular standout, when they traded defensive end Red Bryant to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The new regime decided to make Bruce Irvin a full time speed rusher at defensive end, and that made Bryant and his substantial contract expendable. Starting opposite Irvin will be free agent signing Cliff Avril. These two, along with veteran Chris Clemons as the 3rd man in the rotation, are expected to combine to give the Seahawks a fierce pass rush from the edge, even without the blitz. Second year rusher Andre Branch, acquired in the Bryant trade, will see some playing time as a situation pass rusher.

Michael Bennett makes the switch to defensive tackle this year and will lead a three man rotation, along with Brandon Mebane and rookie Jesse Williams, clogging up the middle of the defense.

    LINEBACKER
The Seahawks are young, fast, and athletic at the linebacker postion. The starters on the outside are K.J. Wright and Malcolm Smith, both of whom show great promise, but have a lot of growing yet to do. Middle linebacker Bobby Wagner is yet another 2nd year Seahawk who is poised for a breakout season. Wagner, a 2nd round pick, burst on to the scene as a rookie and ended up among the league leaders in tackles for the season.

    CORNERBACK
The secondary of the Seahawks could really be the difference maker for this team. With the trade of Lynch and former Pro-Bowl cornerback Brandon Browner, the Seahawks acquired one of the most exciting young play makers in the league today. Already an All Pro and 2-time Pro Bowler, in just his 3rd season, cornerback Patrick Peterson appears to be already on the path of becoming one of the greatest in the game. Not to be overlooked is incumbent All-Pro corner back Richard Sherman, who some consider the best cover corner in the league today. There is no doubt that the combination of Peterson and Sherman will lead to many sleepless nights for opposing quarterback and offensive coordinators.

Not to be overlooked is the free agent acquisition of cornerback Richard Marshall. A crafty veteran, good enough to start for many teams in the league, decided to chase a ring and accepted the Seahawks modest one year offer to be their nickel back.

    SAFETY
Antoine Winfield joined the Seahawks as a free agent this year, with an eye on becoming their nickel back himself. When it became clear that the cornerback position was much too crowded, the coaching staff convinced Winfield to accept a change of position to strong safety. With his hard hitting style, Winfield took to the switch like a fish to water. Winfield even supplanted incumbent starter Kam Chancellor, although both will see plenty of playing time for this Seattle defense.

Two time All Pro and Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas round out this phenomenal Seattle secondary. In the conversation among the best in the league at his position, Thomas is still only 24 years old and we could very well be witnessing the early stages of a Hall of Fame career.

    SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker Steven Hauschka and punter Jon Ryan give the Seahawks are both quality veterans that have provided stability on the kicking units.

With Percy Harvin and Patrick Peterson both capable of taking any ball they touch to the house, the Seattle return game should be something to watch this season!

    Breaking News
    Out is QB

Traded to the Cardinals for a 2nd round pick.

    In is QB

Our starting QB for the 2013 Season

    Fresh faces

    Anchoring our defense at MLB

And our new Weapon X #20 FS Earl Wolff which with his speed we expect big things from him.
Owner Alonso Chavez had some big decisions to make taking over his beloved Eagles team, first order of business was to try and trade QB M. Vick. Which they did to the Cardinals for a 2nd round pick. Mr. Chavez wasnt a fan of Vick, he has great speed but not the accuracy for the style of play we want to run which is power football. Chip Kelly had a real tough time with that decision but accepted Mr. Chavez decision and left the fast pace spread offense.

The Eagles has always been known for their defense and Mr. Chavez made a point to his defensive coordinator to get it done. Getting CB Williams from the Ravens was a big attribute and one that will pay off for us. Also MLB Kendricks getting the number one role in the defense was something that needed to be done. His speed and tackling will be something to see for years to come.

    Offense:

WR DJax, WR Macklin, HB Shady McKoy, and rookie TE Carriker will anchor it with the leadership of starting QB Foles.

    Defense:
MLB Kendricks, FS Wolff and CB Williams will be the heart and sould of this defense along with their monster defensive line.

    Special Teams:
KR/PR DJax will be something to watch out for as he will be making electrifying plays along the season.

More to come on this Philadelphia Eagles 2013 Preview.....

The 2013 New Orleans Saints Season Preview

Owner Kris Mims returns after a year hiatus from the game. Speculation of why he decided to return after a year long were quickly answered in his first press conference of the season. " I love the city, I love the fans but most importantly I love the 53 men in that locker room, and our coaching staff. I want to win, badly" Several key pieces are coming back to the Saints in 2013, most importantly is franchise QB Drew Brees, who threw for over 5000 yards for the second season in a row. While the Saints dont expect to run the rock a ton, they do expect both Mark Ingram (600 yards) and Pierre Thomas(475 yards and 40 catches) to help out Darren Sproles who has become a receiving threat out of the backfield (79 receptions)

On defense side MLB Curtis Lofton and Johnathan Vilma anchor a young defense. The Secondary is led by Jabari Greer, Roman Harper and Hard hitting rookie, Kenny Vaccaro.. The Saints look to change their fortunes of a year ago by giving the leagues worst defense title to the City of Saints.

Special teams is rounded out by Garrett Hartley and All world punter Thomas Morstead

The Miami Dolphins have a new owner and new uniforms (which the owner does not like lol) plenty is expected after Daniel Dunn dumped so much money in the off season on the roster. High hopes for the team from South Florida but the division is rough so anyone can win it.

The keys to the offense are simple after losing all-pro LT Jake Long in free agency the Dolphins lean on a young Jonathon Martin to protect their prizes QB Ryan Tannehill. Plenty of people will be counted on however Miami dumped a ton of money on WR's Mike Wallace, Brandon Gibson and lost in that FA frenzy was the fact that they resigned one of their own in the route running Brian Hartline.

The signing of Wallace not only gives a deep threat but makes it impossible to double or keep a S over the top of Gibson and Hartline making the WR core a threat on any given down. Miami also added FA TE Dustin Keller who Tanne would love to lean on and still have do it all h-back/TE Charles Clay who has found a way to become a match up issue for opposing defenses. All of these weapons leave the Miami staff able to do the one thing they love, that is run the ball. With Reggie Bush gone Miami will turn to second year RB Lamar Miler to provide the home run threat and power it up with Daniel Thomas when needed as well. The Dolphins want to be able to close out close game in the end and running the ball is the key to that for sure.

On the Defensive side of the ball Miami thinks they are solid. The Dolphins are trusting a vet CB coming off injury in Brett Grimes to provide stability as rookie Jamar Taylor and Nolan Carrol grow up fast. The safety postion is set as Chris Clemons and Rashad Jones are both proven play makers back there. The defensive line is solid and pretty deep Paul Soliai is an anchor up from with Randy Starks as Cam Wake terrorizes opposing OT's with his constant motor and pursuit of the QB. The Dolphins made a draft day deal to sneak up and take the very versatile hybrid freak in Dion Jordon he can play with his hands in the dirt as a rush DE or also drop back into a zone with his great cover skills and huge wingspan. The Dolphins D by default should keep them in most games as the offense finds itself.

In a surprise this off season the Dolphins signed 2 new LB's and released solid vets. Miami added Philip Wheeler and Danelle Ellerbe both very athletic good blitzing LB's will be interesting to see how they fit in this season. Miami likes to run a Tampa 2 so aggressive LB's aren't always a perfect fit but time will tell.

Much is expected of Miami this year in and out of Florida however it takes time for new parts to gel expect Miami to find its way on O and spread it around and the D to keep them in the hunt for 8-9 wins in season 1 of the new regime make off season moves and be ready to be a threat next season for sure. Again the division by default will be nasty with great owners it will be very competitive.

Jerry Jones is finally where most fans have been wanting him to be for the past 10yrs: out of football. Now the question is, was it the right time for him to sell? And was Moe Valdes the right owner?
We'll give Moe this: he's a lifer. A Cowboy fan since the 80s when Tony Dorsett, Danny White and Tony Hill were considered the Triplets. He saw this team go from 1-15 to Super Bowl Champs. He has seen them struggle in the playoffs and he has seen Jerry bring in coach after coach trying to get back to the glory days. "I am by no means the savior for this team", said the newly crowned owner. "I am happy to be running things here but, I will defer to those with a lot more knowledge than me when the issues get too complicated."

First order of business: keeping the coaching staff intact. "I am a Jason Garrett fan and I'm a fan of the 4-3. I think making the switch was the right thing for this team to do and I plan on seeing this transformation through." With that said, the offense will remain pretty much unchanged, personnel wise, though the playcalling may change a bit. Romo, DeMarco Murray, Dez, Austin and Witten all return. Rookie WR Terrance Williams got added to the mix and the staff is expecting big things from him as well as from rookie TE Gavin Escobar. "Both guys will present mismatches that the defense will have to account for. We're expecting some growing pains from both of them but, they've looked good this summer. And that's very encouraging."
The one position of weakness on this offense is, once again, the offensive line. LT and C seem to be the only solid positions. But the team will be actively pursuing upgrades at OG and RT, though they expect Doug Free to bounce back from the lackluster year he had.

The defense, sporting a fresh new 4-3 look, will feature some big name players at different positions. Ware and Spencer are now DEs and will present a challenge for most OTs in one-on-one battles. And to help out inside, Jay Ratliff and Jason Hatcher have moved to DT. Hatcher has been unstoppable in scrimmages and the team hopes he continues that high-intensity in the regular season. "If Hatch can provide that pressure up the middle, it will really present a problem for offenses. We're just looking for him to be consistent"
The LBs feature a very athletic group with starters J. Durant, S. Lee and B. Carter and backups E. Sims and rookie Devonte Holloman. With 4 DL in front of them to occupy blockers, this group should be in position to make a lot of tackles this year.
The secondary will also feature some new faces to go along with the familiar ones. B. Carr and M. Claiborne return at CB along with O. Scandrick. And B. Church is still the starting SS, for now. Rookie J.J. Wilcox had a great summer and is poised to make a move for the starting spot. FS M. Johnson has moved ahead of the more experienced Will Allen due to his superior athletic ability. The staff hopes that athleticism will allow him to make up for any mistakes he makes.

Special teams remain unchanged with K D. Bailey and P C. Jones back along with Dwayne Harris assuming the return duties.

It's never boring in Big D. And the new owner only hopes to continue that trend this season. Will he succeed where Jerry failed? Stay tuned...
