Using my favorite team in my OD so I decided to go into the toughest conferences and face the toughest teams year in and year out. The deciding factor was Mizzou has some badass uniforms.

    Difficulty: O&D Heisman
    Sliders: Work in Progress
    Penalties: Altered
    Qtr Length: 8 Min
    Coach Progress: Slow
    Starting Level: 1
    Current Level: 4
    Game Speed: Normal
    Speed Threshold: 20

    2013 Missouri Tigers Preview
    [IMG]
    Offense
QB: Corbin Berkstresser will be the starting QB due to his better accuracy than James Franklin. While Franklin can scramble, his 75 ThA would be awful should he have to throw on the run.
HB/FB: Henry Josey and Marcus Murphy will be the duo HB system Coach Masler likes to run. Murphy has the speedy while it looks like Josey is the All-American that will get the majority of the carries. Paving the way for them will be Brandon Colbert at FB, he's quick and can block.
WR/TE: The Tigers have a small stable of WR with the top three all being rated 87 overall, we will need it if we want to compete with the likes of the teams in the SEC. The TE's are not all that great but they have never been prime targets for Coach Masler.
O Line: Not bad, not great. Definitely going to be a key recruiting part this year as the SEC D Lines will probably eat them alive.
    Defense
D Line: The DEs look strong and ready to take the field but the DT have me worried just a bit, another key recruiting aspect.
LB: Our MLB and ROLb are not that great but will get the job done with All-American ROLB Andrew Wilson will be the biggest part of this group of Linebackers.
DB: EJ Gaines Gives us a shutdown corner while Ponder is rated lower than what I would like. The safeties looks solid, I hope they are up to the task.
Special Teams: Our Kicker and Punter will do. Josey and L'Damian Washington will handle KR while Washington handles PR.
Overall Expectations: This team will not win the SEC for a while I fear, they have some good players in some places but the top dogs in the SEC have good players EVERYWHERE. We will be lucky to go .500 and make a crappy bowl game.

    Team Recruiting Needs:

    1 FB, 1 TE, 1 MLB.

    Maslers' Recruiting Needs:

    O Line, All Defense

Josey got hurt in spring before last season and took a redshirt...... I only know because I had Mizzou in After Midnight last year and I was researching them. I saw the Josey stuff and redshirted him in year one even though he was like 10 OVR better than the next guy up.

Finally got time to start this up.

    Missouri shuts out Eastern Michigan
    Mizzou - 24
    EMU - 0
The rushing attack lead the Tigers to victory today. Three different players ran in TD's with Josey leading the way. QB Berkstresser threw for 200 yards but was unable to throw a TD today. The defense played lights out, not allowed the Eagles to even make it past the 50 yard line. But to be fair, they were awful.
Up next we play the Toledo Rockets. Don't laugh, they beat Florida Week 1.

    SEC Killers! Rockets stun Tigers!
    Missouri - 21
    Toledo - 26
Yes, you read right, the Toledo Rockets took down the Missouri Tigers this afternoon. The Rocket defense was insane, forcing a total of five turnover. Out of those five, four were interceptions. The Rockets secondary felt like they were always in the right spot at the right time. Rewind to the beginning and Toledo was cruising against us as they ended the half up 17-7 but then we started our comeback. We finally got the Toledo offense to give up a mistake with an INT that the CB would return all the way for the TD to come within three points. Toledo would be able to put up three more points before Mizzou finally took the lead with 2:50 left in the game. It would take less than a minute for Toledo to retake the lead but they gave Missouri all the time they needed. With 45 seconds left on the clock and on 2nd down, backup QB Franklin dropped back and threw his third INT of the game. Toledo would only have to run out the clock to secure their victory. A major blow to the Tigers this game was the loss of Josey and Berkstresser to injuries.
This marks the second straight week Toledo has defeated a SEC team. In Week 1 they took down #10 Florida...in The Swamp!! In Overtime!!
Meanwhile, Missouri will play again in Week 4 after a Bye Week 3. The Week 4 game features Missouris' first road game against the Indiana Hoosiers.

    Tigers' prayers get answered
    Missouri - 28
    Indiana - 25
The Hoosier came out tough in this one, looking to please the sold out home crowd. They would control the scoreboard for the first quarter and half with a 10-0 lead before the Tigers stormed back in roughly 2 minutes to take the 14-10 lead into the half. Mizzou would then take a 11 point lead in the 3rd with a 1 yard run from Murphy (Josey was hurt yet again). Unfortunately for the Tigers, Indiana mad made a huge comeback in the fourth. First QB Roberson connected with WR Wynn for a 71 yard catch and run followed by a successful 2 point conversion that brought the Hoosiers within 3 points. Then as Missouri was trying to put the fork in this one, Berkstresser would throw ANOTHER interception (he was awful with 5 on the day). This pick would be brought back the other way for a score, giving Indiana the 4 point lead with just a minute remaining. Missouri struggled and would drain their timeouts. With literally no time on the clock as Berkstresser tried to save some face, WR Green-Beckham broke away from the pack on a Hail Mary, catching the ball and stepping into the endzone to. After the successful PAT, the Tigers grabbed the miracle win, heading back home to face Arkansas State in Week 5.

Arkansas State can't come through in clutch
    Arkansas St - 28

    Missouri - 31

The Tigers had this one in control at one point but the CPU on Heisman gives them that extra oomph. Tied at 28 late in the game, QB Franklin and HB Josey lead a great drive that ended in a FG with just 20 seconds in the game. The Red Wolves had all their timeouts and would attempt to get into FG Range to tie the game but even after a 22 yard pick up, they couldn't get it done. The game ended with the DE spinning the QB to the ground. Berkstresser is no longer the starting QB for the Tigers due to the fact he threw a pick his second attempt. Franklin did throw a pair of picks but also had moments of brilliance that Berk never showed.

Mizzou starts conference play at Vanderbilt next week.

Tigers prevail behind the arm of Franklin
    Missouri - 26

    Vanderbilt - 10

It was a rough start for Mizzou as they settled for two FGs while Vandy was able to take an easy 1 point lead with a TD. The Tigers wouldn't take long to take the lead but failed the two point conversion. Vandy would managed a FG before the half and that's all she wrote. The Missouri defense held off the Commodores the entire second half as Franklin threw two more touchdowns, he threw three on the day. Henry Josey also had a great day with over 100 yards rushing, setting up several scores for the Black and Gold.

The Tigers win their SEC opener and take a trip Between the Hedges next week.

    Stats

    J. Franklin - 16/23, 165 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 14 Att, 35 yards
    H. Josey - 26 Att, 115 yards, 4.4 ypc
    D. Green-Beckham - 3 Rec, 60 yards, 1 TD
    L. Washington - 3 Rec, 15 yards, 1 TD
    E. Waters - 4 Rec, 26 yards, 1 TD
    M. Sam - 4 Tackles, 3 TFL, 3 Sacks

An incomplete pass destroyed any hope
    #16 Georgia - 44

    Missouri - 38

Franklin had a great day vs Vanderbilt but could not carry over the momentum against the Bulldogs. He started off 3/3 and then proceed to finish 3/8 with 3 early picks that caused Coach Masler to yank him in favor of Berkstresser. Berk was benched earlier after not performing up to expectation but he was able to pick apart the UGA secondary in route to tying the game 10-10 before halftime. Georgia came out fired up in the second half, scoring 21 unanswered points while the Tiger offense just could not do anything while Berkstresser coughed up the ball twice. But Mizzou did manage to squeak in a TD before the third quarter ended to pull within 14 points. Unfortunately Georgia would continue to dominate, scoring another easy ten points and taking an even larger lead than before. Then came the crazy near comeback. Missouri was able to find the endzone with 2:29 left in the game but could not recover the onside kick. They would waste their timeouts but succeeded in holding UGA to just a FG with 1:20 left on the clock. less than 15 seconds later Berkstresser was able to connect with WR White thanks to Henry Josey giving the Tigers great field position on a 62 yard KR. This time the onside would indeed work and the Tigers continued their two minute drill. It took much too long to find the endzone this time as Green-Beckham caught a TD with 10 seconds remaining, pulling Mizzou within a touchdown. Another onside would be successful but with three seconds left on the clock, Berkstresser was unable to get the pass off and the ball fell harmlessly to the turf.

Georgia dodges a bullet and Mizzou gets to host the Gators next week....oh joy.

    The controversial touchdown
    Missouri - 24

    Florida - 20

The game started off with Missouri going 3 and out while Driskel and the Gators marched down the field to take an early 7-0. A more focused drive did allowed the Tigers to tie the game but their inability to stop Driskels scrambles lead to a 35 yard score from the QB to give the Gators the lead once again. Missouri was able to tie it with 27 seconds left in the first half on an 18 yard pass from Franklin to TE Waters but the Gators got into FG range thanks to a couple of long completions and wise timeout usage to take a 17-14 lead into the half. The Tiger defense came out strong in the second half, forcing a punt on the Gators' first drive but the offense could not get anything going. Florida extended their lead with another FG to go up 20-17 while our offense continued to struggle on 3rd down primarily. UF had a chance to take more than a TD lead with another FG but it fell wide and short. This would prove to be killer for them as the fourth quarter started with Missouri connecting on a FG of their own to pull within three points. And then a major game changer came with a clutch INT from MLB Bonner that allowed back up HB Murphy to carry the load and score the game winning TD. It was a controversial one that even warranted a booth review. At first Murphy was called short of the goal line but upon the review it showed the two defenders he was tangled up with actually pulled him across the line before his knee hit. The Gators would get dangerously close to scoring again but TE Burton was stood up by Bonner on 4th and 4. Murphy would run the ball to drain Floridas timeouts and win their second conference game of the season.

Next week is a HUGE showdown vs #10 South Carolina.

    Stats

    J. Franklin - 12/18, 182 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
    M. Murphy - 20 Att, 119 yards, 5.9 ypc, 1 TD
    H. Josey (went out with injury in 3rd) - 14 Att, 38 yards, 2.7 ypc, 1 TD
    E. Waters - 4 Rec, 64 yards, 1 TD
    D. Bonner - 2 Tackles, 1 INT

    Literally inches
    Missouri - 31

    #9 South Carolina - 37

Connor Shaw ripped the Tigers apart in the first half while QB Franklin was intercepted three times, effectively earning himself a bench for the rest of the day. It was looking very bleak for the Tigers down 27-7 after halftime but a big interception return put us back in a position to make it a game. The two teams would trade FGs but the Gamecocks would strike next with a 1 yard run from HB Davis to give them another big lead at 37-17. Down 20 points entering the 4th quarter, Berkstresser would lead two great drives that ended in touchdowns and pulled us within 6 points of South Carolina. After huge defensive stand that ended with Shaw being sacked and forced to punt back with 1:10 remaining. The Tigers came out in the hurry up offense and Posey started things off with a 21 yard rush and Berkstresser could not miss. He didn't miss even until the very end when he hit Green Beckham at the 1 yard line but he was unable to power past the defensive back and time clicked off the clock and Mizzou's upset bid officially squashed.

    Stats

    J. Franklin - 5/10, 106 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT
    C. Berkstresser - 12/16, 167 yards, 2 TD
    H. Josey - 26 Att, 125 yards, 4.8 ypc, 1 Rec, 66 yards, 1 TD
    L. Washington - 4 Rec, 57 yards, 1 TD
    S. Culkins - 1 Rec, 10 yards, 1 TD
    B. Webb - 6 Tackles, 3 TFL, 1 FF, 1 INT, 1 TD

Nothing but a cloud of dust
    Missouri - 30

    Tennessee - 21

The first half of the game belonged to Mizzou as their defense was nothing but dominant. Berkstresser earned the start this week and started things off early with a 10 yard TD to WR Washington. The Vols would tie the game up but it would be their only chance. Berk would strike again on a 6 yard pass to Lucas to gain the lead for the final time. Josey would add another TD with 37 seconds left in the half on a 15 yard shotgun handoff. Tennessee woke up somewhat in the second half and managed a couple of TDs but the true hero of this game was the kicker as he hit three FGs that gave the Tigers the nine point edge. The nail in the coffin came when Worley was sacked on 4th down, all Mizzou had to do was waste their final timeout and sit on the ball.

The Tigers are now bowl eligible at 6-3(3-2). They travel to face the Kentucky Wildcats on the road Week 11 and currently sit 3rd in the division. The loss to South Carolina really hurt and probably ruined our chances in a CCG appearance.

    Stats

    C. Berkstresser - 17/20, 236 yards, 2 TD
    H. Josey - 30 Att, 107 yards, 3.5 ypc, 1 TD, 3 Rec, 24 yards
    M. Murphy - 6 Att, 34 yards, 5.6 ypc
    D. Green Beckham - 5 Rec, 105 yards
    D. Bonner - 8 Tackles, 2 TFL

    Kentucky - 47

    Missouri - 48

The Tigers were down 31-7 at halftime after an awful performance of offense and defense all around. Berkstresser turned the game around though by throwing for some clutch TDs. The major turning point in the game was when Simon intercepted the ball and took it back to the house to give Mizzou the lead. The Wildcats would easily counter the score to regain the lead but failed the two pointer to take a one point lead. Mizzou drove down the field but were intercepted at the one yard line. Using their timeouts they forced Kentucky to try and get a first down and with 22 seconds remaining, Mizzou sacked the QB in the endzone for a safety. All they had to do was kneel to win this one.

    Franklin lead the way
    #17 Ole Miss - 27

    Missouri - 41

As the Tigers struggle to find their offensive and defensive identity, Coach Masler decided it was time for a new look on Offense. Traditionally, Coach Masler runs a Pro Style offense but he decided to go to his QBs strength in athleticism and chose a Spread Option vs the Rebels. It turned out the Franklin was right at home in this offense but it did suffer from a slow start as both teams had to settle for FGs. Ole Miss would score the next 14 unanswered though before the Tigers found Green-Beckham in the endzone. A quick three and out gave Mizzou the ball back and they were able to tie it off a 5 yard rush from Josey. Unfortunately the coverage gave up a TD pass to Sanders with 4 seconds in the half to go into halftime down 17-24. The defense really stepped up in the second half, only allowing a late FG while the offense found a groove as Franklin tossed two more TDs and Josey ran in another.

Spread Option may just be the way to go! Up next is Johnny Football and #3 Texas A&M at home to end the season.

    Stats

    J. Franklin - 16/24, 296 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 15 Att, 63 yards, 4.2 ypc
    H. Josey - 22 Att, 110 yards, 5.0 ypc, 2 TD
    M. Lucas - 4 Rec, 96 yards, 1 TD

    Josey's KR sparked a 28 point run
    #23 Missouri - 41

    #2 Texas A&M - 33

Henry Josey scampered into the endzone and the Tiger offense came alive. They would host one of the toughest teams in the nation with one of the most electric QBs. On top of all that, these two schools are rivals. In the first half of this game the Aggies could not get Mizzou off the field as they scored on each one of their possessions. TAMU was moving the ball well but stalled more than it should have. Manziel was under constant pressure (sacked 5 times on the day) and made some erratic throws, even throwing a rare pick to a Tiger defense that isn't known for forcing turnovers. The half would end with the Tigers up 35-19 and it would prove to be the deciding factor. While the Aggie defense came alive in the 2nd half, it wasn't enough as their offense still punted the ball too many times. A&M would outscore Mizzou 14-6 in the second half but again it wasn't enough to overcome the home crowd on Senior Day.

The Tigers upset the Aggies and finish the regular season at 9-3(6-2). The Spread Option seems to be the way to go.

    Stats

    J. Franklin - 12/20, 136 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 11 Att, 49 yards, 4.4 ypc, 1 TD
    H. Josey - 18 Att, 139 yards, 7.7 ypc, 1 TD, 7 KR, 278 yards, 1 TD
    M. Murphy - 9 Att, 26 yards, 2.8 ypc, 1 TD
    E. Waters - 5 Rec, 55 yards, 1 TD
    B. Webb - 8 Tackles
    L. Vincent - 3 Tackles, 3 TFL, 3 Sacks
