[IMG]1. Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers have all the pieces to make a deep run this season. Big Ben is still an elite QB and he is handing off to arguable the most complete back in the game, LeVeon Bell plus he has Brown and Bryant on the outside with budding star JT griffin at TE. If all those weapons don’t say enough, this team has a very good offensive line to keep things moving. On defense this team features a front seven that should be very effective spearheaded by the super athletic Ryan Shazier at MLB. That unit hopes to make enough plays to allow the team to develop the young secondary, which could be their Achilles heal.

[IMG]2. Cincinnati Bengals – The coaching staff may be unhappy with Andy Dalton but there is no denying his talent. Jeremy hill is a fast bruiser of a power back who can move the chains. The team gave up AJ Green in the offseason, but with TY Hilton, Mohamed Sanu and second year stud Devin Bullock, this team still boasts an elite WR corps to go along with Tyler Eifert, one of the most dangerous TEs in the league. Rookie DE DeMarcus Lucas is an impact player and an early hopeful for AFC defensive rookie of the year, especially since he is surrounded by an elite defensive line and solid linebackers. Desmond Trufant came back in the AJ Green deal and he spearheads a young and talented secondary.

[IMG]3. Baltimore Ravens – Joe Flacco can still sling the rock for this team. HB is a question mark with Lorenzo Taliaferro looking like the guy who will be taking handoffs, the team will need him play beyond his ratings to compete in the division. Breshad Perriman and rookie Marquis Cole are the notable players in a WR corps that has a lot of players that can contribute but no true stars. The team has three solid TE options to go along with one of the better offensive lines in the league. If these young WRs step up this offense could surprise behind this line. The D line has a lot of talent, both veterans and younger players while the LBs outside of stud mike backer CJ Mosley are pretty pedestrian. The secondary lacks elite speed but could make up for it with skilled veterans.

[IMG]4. Cleveland Browns – Richard Carter enters his second year as an up and coming dual threat star under center. Rookie HB Tyerll Sellers should have a chance to be the feature back, but Duke Johnson and Montee Ball can make for an effective HB rotation if the youngster isn’t up to the task. Second year wideout Sheldon Klein is one of the most dynamic athletes in the MBA and being able to put him opposite Josh Gordon elevates an otherwise unspectacular group of pass catchers. The line is showing its age in spots but is still a very talented group. The front seven has more questions than answers, though Paul Kruger and Barkevious Mingo are both able to get after the QB. Joe Haden, K’Waun Williams, and Tashaun Gipson make for a very talented secondary that could make things interesting if the front 7 can stop the run.

    AFC South Preview

    [IMG]1. Houston Texans
    – Tom Savage isn’t going to scare people under center, but he does have a cannon arm. Rookie HB Chadrick Bell is a punishing runner who should spearhead this Houston offense. Rookie WR Craig Patrick steps into the #1 WR role after DeAndre Hopkins was traded away and hopes to make an impact in a questionable passing attack, assuming that the patchwork offensive line can give them time. Fortunately for the Texans, they have one of the most fearsome defenses in the MBA with JJ Watt, Linval Joseph, and Greg Hardy up front and Whitney Mercilus and Jadeveon Clowney coming off the edges backed by a secondary with skills enough given that the front 7 will be applying pressure on opposing QBs regularly.

[IMG]2. Indianapolis Colts – Andrew Luck makes this team competitive immediately while HB Giovani Bernard behind him makes them look more like a contender. The team went into the offseason with huge questions at WR but the drafting of Michaelee Taylor and Jason Rogers gives this club a pair of young steady pass catchers to compliment TE Coby Fleener who is an elite receiving TE. The O line has a pair of anchors but question marks at the other three spots, so this team will need to get the ball out of Lucks hands quickly. The defensive line is helped by the return of 35 year old DE Jason Hatcher who still can be a difference maker and if second year DT Jordan Patrick can make good on his potential the front 4 should be okay. The free agency signing of OLB Donta Hightower gives legitimacy to what would have been a very mediocre group of backers while the steady presence of shutdown corner Vontae Davis brightens an otherwise dull secondary.

[IMG]3. Tennessee Titans – Mariotta hasn’t lived up to the hype yet, but a new coaching staff could be just what he needed. Arian Foster and Chris Ivory aren’t scaring anyone with homerun speed but both guys can get tough yards in the trenches behind a young line with talent that needs more experience. In the passing game, veteran TE Delanie walker and #1 WR Kendall Wright will be asked to carry the load with a bevy of young WRs hoping to make a contribution. Second year studs Marcos Blake and Romonn Turner team up with all pro Jurrell Casey to give the club a very stout D line in front of a solid group of linebackers with veteran leaders Brian Orakbo and Derric Morgan. Aqib Talib headlines a veteran secondary that needs an influx of youth for the future but should hold up fine this season.

[IMG]4. Jacksonville Jaguars – Blake Bortles has the keys after the team passed on a number of talented QBs with the #5 overall pick in the draft. TJ Yeldon is a talented young back with Theo Riddick and Christine Michael on hand for a stable of solid runners. Allen Robinson and Justin Blackmon lead a group of WRs that includes blazing fast second year player Christopher stills who could be an impact player. At TE Julius Thomas was traded away and the club hopes that rookie Jared Cole can step in and fill his shoes somewhat. The offensive line is average verging on below average which could spell trouble for an offense lacking a truly dynamic playmaker. The defense has a lot of big bodies up front in the 3-4 including potential impact rookie Marquis Parham and talented second year player Derderius James who was a steal in the 6th round. The teams most exciting aspect is the linebackers with 3rd year player Dante Fowler JR coming off the edge as a 3-4 pass rusher and back to back first round picks in second year Kevin Kilgore and rookie Sedrick Riley both being athletic playmakers in the middle of the field. The team hopes that rookie CB Isikeli Mason can be the star that a mostly average secondary craves to help it break out.

    AFC East Preview

[IMG]1. Buffalo Bills – Tyrod Taylor is an athletic QB who looks to build on his season one successes. Second year runner Bayele Riles looks to be the feature back with Karlos Williams and Jeff Demps providing power and electric speed respectively. Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin, Donte Moncrief, and Robert Woods make for an above average WR group while TEs Dwayne Allen and Charles Clay make for one of the best 1-2 TE combos in the league. The team has quietly built an offensive line that continues to improve and could really emerge this season. Veteran pass rusher Jerry Hughes and rookie Juliaus Harper look to be a solid combo on the edges in the 4-3 with Marcell Dareus and SenDerrick Marks teaming up as one of the best DT combos in the MBA. An above average LB core plays in front of an adequate secondary that lacks depth but does have an elite cover man in Stephon Gilmore.

[IMG]2. Miami Dolphins – This team is on the rise after absolutely stealing the show in the last draft. Ryan Tannehil is a steady QB with dynamic HB Lamar Miller behind him. A solid, young WR group is in place with Landry, Stills, and Parker opening things up for TEs Jordan Cameron and second year player Felix Forrest underneath. The last two drafts have been kind to what has become an above average offensive line. On the defensive line, Cameron wake returning at 35 gives this team a ton of depth up front with stud rookie Adrian Humphrey likely to make a huge impact at DT trying to fill in for the departed Suh. Rookie LB Hayden Patterson may be the most exciting of a group of 4 very talented backers that allow this team to run both the 4-3 and the 3-4 on D. The weakest spot on the team is CB where the team is very young and athletic with rookie Camdren Jordan looking to take on opponents #1 WRs. Stud rookie FS Jeron Patrick starts opposite veteran stud Reshad Jones for an effective safety combo.

[IMG]3. New York Jets – Geno Smith will be under center again, words no coach hoped for, ever. Veteran HB Doug Martin looks to carry the load at HB with aging targets Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker hoping to outrun father time for one more season. TEs Larry Donnell and Jace Amaro should get plenty of work underneath. The offensive line is pretty average with a couple vets and a couple second year players leading the way. The front three of Wilkerson, Richardson, and Harrison is still the best 3-4 line in football. Hopefully that front three can make up for the mediocrity and age in the linebacker and secondary units.

    [IMG]4. New England Patriots
    – Tom Brady is in Canton and Jimmy Garoppolo is under center, expect growing pains. Without a true feature bacl or #1 WR the offense will once again have to go through Rob Gronkowski assuming he can stay healthy and the patchwork O-line can give Garoppolo time to throw. Elvis Dumerville and Chandler Jones are an effective set of bookend DEs while rookie Delmar Childs hopes to lead an underwhelming LB group. Outside of FS Devin McCourty, this secondary could struggle.

    AFC West Preview

[IMG]1. Oakland Raiders – Derek Carr, Latavious Murray, and Amari Cooper are all back and should once again pace a powerful offense behind a very good offensive line that just keeps drafting young, effective blockers. Alson Smith and Junior Galette are arguably the best pass rushing DE duo in the league with stud DT Dan Williams coming up the gut. As if that wasn’t enough for an opposing QB to worry about, Khalil Mack could be coming on any given play as well out of his spot at OLB. Like many teams, if this team has a weakness, it’s in the secondary, so if opponents can get time to throw they have the potential for success.

[IMG]2. Denver Broncos – Second year man Tyler Travis is an accurate, Drew Brees type of passer who should be thrilled to have rookie HB OC Boone in the fold with his elite shifty running abilities. Demarius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will continue to break in the young QB along with TE Virgil Green while he is protected by a skilled, veteran offensive line. Despite some errors in free agency, this is a dangerous front seven with Von Miller and other impact players like DE Shane Ray and second year LB Nick Thomas. Chris Harris and Bradley Roby lead a very good secondary that should be up to the task of limiting the passing attacks they will face in division with the possible exception of the Raiders.

[IMG]3. Kansas City Chiefs – Second year signal caller Josh White looks like the real deal and Jamaal Charles has at least one more year at a high level. The receivers have talent enough to make plays with standout rookie Taylor McDonald ready to step into the forefront and elite TE Travis Kelce looking to create mismatches underneath. The offensive line needs some work but could hold up. With rookie pass rushing DE Davion Russell opposite sack master Justin Houston and Dontari Poe on the inside this team has a tough front 4. Veteran Rolando McClain looks to bolster an aging LB group along with second year man Shawn Collins. In the secondary, improving Marcus Peters and rookie Malik Garner team up with star FS Eric Berry for a steady if unspectacular pass defense.

[IMG]4. San Diego Chargers – Phillip Rivers is 35 and rumor is that rookie Kalen Samuels could take over sooner rather than later. Melvin Gordon continues to be a viable feature back while all pro Kenan Allen looks to make sure that second year man Vasty Parks and rookie Tank Lucas see plenty of single coverage with their blazing speed. LaDarius green is a matchup nightmare for LBs in coverage and the team has an excellent offensive line. The problem area on this team is the front seven which is young with intriguing players like DT DaJuan Phillip and OLB Malcolm Jones, but lacks real firepower. The secondary is solid with the addition of stud rookie corner Avius Beatty teaming with veterans Jason Verrett and Eric Weddle. If the front 7 can create pressure and limit opponents running attacks this team could surprise.

A lot of the power rankings is really splitting hairs to be honest, I feel like most of the league is very good so it's hard to say for example who's better between the bengals and packers. I went with my gut after looking over the rosters. :)

With now 5 weeks in the bag, it's time for the return of the Power Rankings!

    1. Washington Redskins (5-0) - defense leading the way for the skins with 11 INTs and 24 sacks in just 5 games

    2. Oakland Raiders (4-1) - only loss to division rival who they since beat. Fighting through injuries at HB and still the reigning champs

    3. Arizona Cardinals (4-1) - dual threat rookie QB Malcom Robinson has the leagues highest QB rating and WR John Brown has been lights out so far this year.

    4. Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) - Fletcher Cox already has 10.5 sacks through 5 games for a defense that has been on fire early this year getting after the opposing QB

    5. Denver Broncos (4-1) - their only loss is to the Raiders whom they beat earlier in the season. Rookie HB OC Boone has been a huge boost for this club

    6. Chicago Bears (4-1) - four straight wins after an OT loss to the Cardinals. Manziel has been very efficient spreading the ball around with 9 different players catching a TD this year.

    7. Cleveland Browns (4-1) - after opening the year with a loss to the Steelers the Browns have 4 straight wins. Young speedy WR Sheldon Klein already has 853 yards and is averaging 31.6 per catch

    8. Tampa Bay Buccanneers (3-1) - this team is playing balanced, team ball and their only loss is to the Bears

    9. Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) - despite only getting 3 sacks as a team in 4 games, the Chiefs have one of the top defenses in the league having allowed just 228 yards of offense per game

    10. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) - have won three in a row and appear to be on a roll with the offense sharing the ball around between a couple of HBs and a number of pass catchers.

    11. Baltimore Ravens (3-2) - the AFC north is tough and the Ravens have swept the steelers behind a stout defense and the playmaking ability of WR Breshad Perriman

    12. Carolina Panthers (4-1) - can't be in the top ten coming off of your first loss of the year. Panthers have yet to play a top tier team

    13. Cincinnati Bengals (3-2) - another AFC north team, the move to acquire Sam West at QB seems to be working so far and the team has three exciting playmakers in the passing game.

    14. Houston Texans (4-1) - hard to rate them this high even with their record since all four of their wins are against winless teams

    15. St Louis Rams (3-2) - this is a team that needs to figure out how to throw the ball to players other than the TE and slot WR, but no denying their W-L record is better than expected

    16. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) - this team has been money unless they are playing against Gmoney15 and his Ravens

    17. New Orleans Saints (3-2) - after a promising start this club has dropped two straight

    18. Buffalo Bills (2-3) - the sim gods have been unkind to coach

    19. New York Giants (2-3) - two of the three losses are to the Cardinals and Broncos

    20. Seattle Seahawks (2-3) - controller issues have made this a challenging year so far for the Hawks

    21. Green Bay Packers (2-3) - maybe beating the undefeated Panthers can give them some much needed momentum

    22. Minnesota Vikings (2-3) - this team needs those offseason moves to start paying off

    23. Miami Dolphins (1-3) - every game for this team has been determined by 7 or less

    24. Atlanta Falcons (1-3) - they have been within 10 in each loss

    25. New England Patriots (1-3) - Tom Brady is gone and this team is reeling

    26. Dallas Cowboys (1-4) - opened the year with a win but have struggled since

    27. New York Jets (1-4) - four straight losses make the rest of this season an uphill climb

    28. San Diego Chargers (0-4) - this team just can't get a break

    29. Indianapolis Colts (0-4) - this team has really struggled on offense

    30. Tennessee Titans (0-5) - they just can't get points

    31. San Francisco 49ers (0-5) - the owner just got married, losing at Madden is practice for the rest of his life

    32. Detroit Lions (0-5) - still a CPU team

    Power Rankings!

Just in time for the playoff push. :)

    1. Raiders (9-1) - face it, he's the defending champ and Latavious Murray has been ridiculous since returning from injury

    2. Eagles (9-1) - the defense has been ridiculous, #1 in opponent total yards

    3. Bears (10-1) - statistically very good on both sides of the ball

    4. Broncos (8-2) - 4 wins in a row and this team is looking sharp with quality wins

    5. Cardinals (8-2) - that rookie QB though.....

    6. Dolphins (7-3) - started 1-3, reeled off 6 straight Ws

    7. Jaguars (8-2) - 5 wins in a row and the defense is coming together

    8. Redskins (8-2) - not looking as strong as early in the year but still should make noise down the stretch

    9. Seahawks (6-4) - 4-0 since getting a new controller, he's back

    10. Ravens (7-3) - doing a lot with a little after missing both drafts

    11. Buccaneers (6-4) - lost three in a row..... But some of that is due to being on AP

    12. Panthers (7-3) - tough schedule the rest of the way with 4 of 6 on the road including at Bears, Bills, Bucs. Will the killer Bs keep him out of the post season?

    13. Steelers (7-4) - on the bubble for the post season, but that running game

    14. Bills (5-5) - if the guy could find time to play his games.....

    15. Browns (5-5) - a return from AP should make the AFC north race interesting

    16. Packers (6-4) - long shot for the playoffs, but who knows

    17. Bengals (6-5) - still in the division race

    18. Texans (5-5) - 4 losses in a row has this team reeling, can they turn it around?

19-32..... Everyone else jockeying for draft picks. :)
