Coming off a disappointing season opener in which the team played terrible, the Cardinals bounced back in a major way led by Jason Merian who posted a perfect 158.3 QB rating. Merian would finish the day 14 of 18 for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns. Not to be outdone, rookie QB Pooh Carlson finished with 369 yards and 4 touchdowns of his own but committed 2 costly turnovers, including a fumble late on a sack by Khamari Jackson which would be scooped up by Calais Campbell who rumbled about 40 yards for the score and put the game out of reach late.

Offensively, the Cardinals running game was stuffed most of the day by the Chargers front 7. Jahvid Best would put his stamp on the game with a 61 yard touchdown run in what was the only big play of the game from the Cardinals run game. The wide receivers stepped up big time after being flustered last week as Jerome Simpson finished with 91 yards and a touchdown and rookie Terrance King 72 yards and a touchdown of his own. On the other side, Pooh Carlson would continuously connect with $210 million dollar man Dwayne Bowe and tight end Matthew Connaboy who racked up over 175 yards through the air. However, when big plays were needed the Cards seemed to make them on both offense and defense. 3rd year OLB Khamari Jackson appears to be picking up where he left off in his rookie season by racking up 3 more sacks on the day and a forced fumble.

    FINAL SCORE: 38-28
