Miami (OH) 2011 Miami Herald Looking to build on last seasons sucess, Coach Hix of the Miami Redhawks had this to say at his press conference following the win over Cincinnati. Regarding his defense's first saftey under the new coaches Safties are one of the rarest plays in all of football. Not only does your offense have to get in the sweet spot around 40 yards from their endzone, your punter also has to kick a ball and have it stopp inside the 3 or so, and your defense has to penetrate their O-line and make a stop in the backfield when their sole goal is put somedistance between themselves and their own goal line. It's a full team effot...glad the boys got it done. Would have liked it had the ensuing drive gone a bit better...but I'll take two points any day. Regarding the TEs having such a big day in the passing game We've got two recievers outside that demand attention...Cincinnati must have decided that it was more dangerous to leave them in single coverage than it was to cover the TEs closely. Our TEs always look to make the best of their opritunities to work in the passing game...they just were given alot of space today. On the Defense failing to capitalize on some potential turnovers I'm ordering that all butter be removed from the Secondary's team meetings. crowd laughs They were in position to make a play...we'll work on making sure they finish those plays after the bye week.
