In a hard fought game in East Lansing, Michigan, the Spartans came out on top of this one behind the brilliant play of their defense and junior QB Andrew Maxwell. After a back and forth 1st qrt the Spartans led 3-0 before cashing in on a 9 yd TD pass from Maxwell to Lippett in the 2nd qrt which gave them a 10-0 lead at the half. Louisville closed the gap with a fg of their own in the 3rd quarter while also keeping MSU scoreless in the 3rd, but Maxwell found Arnett on a 14 yard pass when he caught the blitzing D off guard, and that was all the Spartans needed to close out the Cards. Maxwell went 14-24 for 276 yds and 2 TD with no interceptions, and a lot of his passes were right where they needed to be in some very tight spots! Sophmore RB Jeremy Langford chipped in on the ground with 98 yds, and Mumprhey and Lippett came through big in the air with 83 yds and 98 yds with Lippett catching a TD pass. Freshman RJ Williamson who started in just his 2nd game of his career came away with his 1st INT and Sophmore Marcus Rush recorded 3 sacks from the DE position! #9 ranked Michigan State is now 2-0
