UTEP came into Tulsa a bit concerned, but it didn't take long for them to put any concern aside. They ended up winning big 48-14.

UTEP picked off Shavodrick Beaver 5 times, including 3 in the first quarter and returned a Beaver fumble for a touchdown. Overall UTEP was +6 in the turnover department.

Starting quarterback Carson Meger broke his collarbone early in the second quarter in a 14-7 game. Some say it should be a season ender, but Coach Weaver fully expects him back in time for next week's game vs. Rice.

Josiah Young ran for 189 and 3 scores against Tulsa's awful defense. Backup and little used quarterback Javia Hall completed 6-11 passes for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns.

UTEP gave up a ton of yards, but held firm allowing only 14 points against a very good Tulsa offense.
