Vikings battle the Buccaneers but too many mistakes and missed tackles provide an opening for the Buccs to take advantage of. Tampa Bay wins 45-28.
Very impressed with our offense in this game as we put up 28 points but couldn't stop TB's offense if our life depended on it. Kudos to Diddy81 for calling a great game and making big plays when they needed to.
Aaron Murray was who we thought he was. Great arm, good decisions. His lone interception came at the end of the game when he forced it to a covered man at the back of the end zone. Aside from that, throwing for 407 yards and 3 TDs in his first game, is very promising.
AP had an alright performance but couldn't break away from the pack. He finished 82 yards on 17 carries and did not get the ball for most of the 4th quarter because we were behind so much.
Receiving wise, Greg Jennings and Kevin Rudolph were consistent. Cordarralle Patterson had a huge breakout game. 7 receptions for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns. Finally, we get a player to step up besides AP.
Defensively, I saw some things that I liked but we were in the wrong coverage at the wrong time and paid for it. Rookie Broderick Jenkins got his 1st career interception. Biggest thing we need to work on, is making the simple tackle.
Good bye Jared Allen! Everson Griffen gets his 1st sack of the year.
Broderick Jenkins grabs his 1st career interception!
Cordarralle Patterson has a breakout performance - 7 receptions, 166 yards 2 TD
Rookie QB Aaron Murray tosses 407 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT
Adrian goes off for 3 TDs in a 34-31 win over the Oakland Raiders.
Huge must win for the Minnesota Vikings, who talked all week about making the tackle and not over pursuing on 1 play. Living to fight another down. We did that pretty much but still managed to give up 31 points. When your offense is as potent as ours has been, you can live with that. A big mistake was made during the 3rd quarter when Knowshon Moreno was subbed in and fumbled. It was a promising drive that would have led to points being inside the Raiders' 30 yard line. The Vikings managed to stay one step ahead of the Raiders in the 2nd half and Aaron Murray led a great drive to seal the victory with a little over a minute left with 2 timeouts. Blair Walsh came in to kick the winning field goal! Shout out to thirdalarm for playing a hell of a game!
The young Viking team will now go on 4 straight away games! Excited to see how we pan out?
Aaron Murray goes 19/26 for 351 yards and 1 TD with 0 INT
All Day rushes 21 times for 133 yards with 3 TD
CP84 adds a TD to his resume along with 68 yards on 3 receptions
