In the top of the inning White Sox would lead off with Flowers who got a single, Semien another single and moves Flowers to 3. De Aza took a walk to draw the bases loaded. Ramirez popped it up to third, Konerko struck out looking at a low and away curveball and Abreu flew out. Sale got his battle in the sixth. It came on 2 2 out singles with runners on as the Royals would take the lead and keep it as Crow would get the hold and Holland would get save number 1. Shields MVP: 7 IP 6 H 0 ER 3 BB 4 K GAME 2: Royals 2-1 Another pitching duel in the making, this time with a little more defense and less dominant performances on the mound. Danks started off slow and allowing runnings on early but Royals failed to hit them in. Vargas on the other hand didn't let a runner on until the 4th and that was the inning White Sox would strike and score a run. It wasn't until the 8th that the Royals would capitalize on a runner on base as Aoki would come up to the plate and plant one over right field to give them a 2-1 lead going into the 9th. Holland would come pick up save number 2 of 2. Aoki MVP: 2/4 1 R 2 RBI Vargas Co-MVP: 8 IP 7 H 1 ER 4 K GAME 3: White Sox 6-3 Royals failed to complete the sweep as it was a battle between the two teams as White Sox would get on top and Royals would tie it up. Then White Sox pulled away and kept the lead as they displayed good pitching and getting out of tough situations.
