    Team of the Month:

The Colorado Rapids have made it clear who the team to beat is this season. Sitting at the top of the collective table with 50 points, they have 7 points over the 2nd place teams with 2 games in hand. In July, Colorado won all 6 of their games as their quest for the Supporter's Shield comes into focus. Behind this surge is Omar Cummings with an unbelievable 25 goals on the season. At this rate Cummings is on pace to break the single season goal scoring record with two months to go.

    Player of the Month:

Sporting KC's Teal Burnbury has hit top form by netting 8 goals in the month of July. His epic tear through the league has pushed Sporting KC into 3rd place in the East, which will auto qualify them for the MLS Cup playoffs. Despite this huge month, Burnbury still trails Colorado's Omar Cummings by 8 goals. It's safe to assume he will use this as motivation to continue to raise his game.

    New Faces, New Places:

FC Dallas has fired their coaching staff and new Manager MartyWebb has been brought in to right the ship. Preseason Power Rankings had FC Dallas as a mid table team, challenging for the last playoff spot. With the right manager, this roster should be able to make a move upward, as they boast some of the best young talent in the league.

In a more surprising move, Seattle's coach stepped down at the halfway point of the season, with the team sitting 2nd in the West. Rookie manager dj illmatic 23 has his work cut out for him to keep the team at the top of the league. Clearly one of the most talented squads in the league, it will be interesting to see if the young coach can maintain status quo. Otherwise, other than Colorado, the west is wide open and the remainder of the season will be interesting.

cmon Rich! ( The Richuation ) where you at? Run into a lull dropping 4 games after being the last undefeated?

Kinda disappointing that Seattle's coach stepped aside

Cummings is on a tear! Colorado isn't even at full strength, can't wait to get Wynne back on defense from injury. LeBauex has filled in quite nicely though.

Definitely the most disappointing month for the Crew thus far. Need to respond in August with our best month yet. Its a month LOADED with matches. We should be able to make some noise in the standings.

In July I was without my two best players, Feilhaber and Joseph... as well as my top CB. We got through it and ready to roll in august.

The Crew's biggest problem has been finding the back of the net. The defense and goal keeping have been solid. Our finishing just leaves a lot to be desired.

Meaning Colorado needs only 18 points in 14 games to tie the mark.

Same games, but they didn't have draws. Extra time was golden goal followed by shootout.

I'm sure to "make it more exciting" for stupid americans.

They added draws in like 1999 or something.

A rough start for my career at FC Dallas, but I'm having a ton of fun in this league so far. Thanks The Richuation for giving me a shot.
