MVP RACE Front-RunnerCHRIS JOHNSON HB - TITANS203 Atts 1646 Yrds 22 TDs In the running...RUN DMC HB - RAIDERS229 Atts 1564 Yrds 6.8 Average 14 TDs JULIUS PEPPERS DE - BEARS 36 tkls , 23 sacks , 3 FFs CALVIN JOHNSON WR - LIONS62 Recs, 1503 Yrds, 24.2 Average, 13 TDs MY THOUGHTS: Wow, what a great group of guys. Darren McFadden has had an amazingly explosive year (something I witnessed in person) and the Raiders are back to being relevant. McFadden and Chris Johnson both caught some passes, but I decided to evaluate just based on their running statistics. McFadden has been more of a workhorse, carrying the ball 26 more times. That is about where the comparison ends, as Johnson has more yards, yards per carry and touchdowns. Chris Johnson if he really puts his mind to it can get 2k yards by years end. What a monster. Speaking of Monsters, Julius Peppers and the Monsters of the Midway are currently #1 in total team defense and are cruising into the playoffs having won 12 of 14. Peppers has not been player of the week once, which just shows how consistent he has been all season. He hasn't had any extremely eye popping games... he has just been putting up 2 or 3 sacks most every game and also leads the NFL in tackles for loss. What an amazing year, although I don't expect him to win he should garner a vote or two for MVP. He is the defensive equivalent of Chris Johnson. Calvin Johnson has been the lone bright spot in an otherwise horrendous season for Detroit. The 24.2 yards per catch is ridiculous and 13 touchdowns is mind blowing. Johnson is a dark horse here...those are some amazing numbers for a wide receiver. I could absolutely see Johnson getting some votes for MVP. QUESTION:Who is getting your vote for MVP? Is there someone I left off the list? Lets talk!
