Titans Reach Blockbuster Deal with Tampa Bay

The Tennessee Titans have reportedly traded their two 2019 1st Round Draft Picks to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for All-Pro RB Doug Martin! Martin comes to Tennessee garnishing all the tools you could ask for from a running back. He's quick, elusive, has great moves, and can catch the ball out of the backfield. The Titans have been on the hunt for an elite RB to compliment Geno Smith and this offense, and they finally have their man. Sources say the Titans also inquired with the Washington Redskins about Alfred Morris, as well as a few other teams. Doug was honestly their #1 choice, but people inside the organization thought he would be the longshot of the group. When management found out that the Bucs front office were open to hearing an offer for the star RB, the Titans jumped. Martin is currently in year two of a six year contract, so the Titans will have Martin on their roster for the long haul. This is all pending league approval of course, but once this deal goes through the streets will be jammin' in the Music City tonight!

Note: Martin is the third superstar that this franchise has traded for during this current release. The other two were WR Brandon Marshall and TE Jordan Cameron.

Titans Sign Two Veteran Stars in 2019 Free Agency

Ray Rice will be backup and 2nd man up to Doug Martin in Tennessee this year. This backfield all of a sudden has gotten very explosive. This duo could easily become one of the league's greatest.

Kyle Rudolph will play opposite TE Jordan Cameron. Rudolph and Cameron will force teams to cover the middle of the field equally without cheating to one side. Titans fans expect big things from these two.

*Zac Dysert has also been brought back to backup QB Geno Smith.

Titans 2019 Schedule At A Glance

The Titans will have another difficult road to the postseason in the upcoming 2019 season. Below is the schedule and we'll also break some of these key games down and how it could shape up for the Titans this year:

    Week 1: vs Kansas City Chiefs - L 17-14
    Week 2: at Indianapolis Colts* - W 21-7
    Week 3: vs Denver Broncos - W 38-28 (Supersim)
    Week 4: vs Houston Texans* - W 24-14
    Week 5: at Oakland Raiders - W 37-31
    Week 6: at San Diego Chargers - W 41-21
    Week 7: BYE
    Week 8: at Cleveland Browns - L 34-16 (Supersim)
    Week 9: at Houston Texans* - L 20-13
    Week 10: at Brooklyn Vikings - L 31-23
    Week 11: at Jacksonville Jaguars* - L 21-17
    Week 12: vs Indianapolis Colts* - L 38-6
    Week 13: at Green Bay Packers - L 26-14
    Week 14: vs Jacksonville Jaguars* - W 36-26 (Sim)
    Week 15: vs Detroit Lions
    Week 16: vs Chicago Bears
Week 17: vs New York Jets

Week 2: at Indianapolis Colts - An early season showdown with division rival thafuture3886. The Titans were able to down the Colts twice in the last playable season en route to the AFC South championship, but in the playoffs when it counted the Colts dismantled the Titans. Both teams will be chomping at the bit for this game, and it can't come soon enough.

Week 8: at Cleveland Browns - Coming off of their bye week, the Titans will travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns and dablakpope. A perennial Championship contender, the Browns have gotten the best of the Titans in all of their recent matchups. This game starts a 4 game road swing for the Titans which could easily make, or break, their season. A victory here would be huge for team moral midway through the year.

Week 14: vs Jacksonville Jaguars - The Titans will have played CHUNKNESS and his mentally tough Jacksonville Jaguar team once prior to this game. But this game starts the final quarter of the 2019 season. Both teams hope to be right in the thick of things come this point, and if both are fortunate, this game could play a hand in deciding the AFC South. The past two AFC South Champions will do battle in Tennessee in early December.

Week 17: vs New York Jets - The preseason duels between these two clubs will finally come into play in a meaningful regular season game when klaximilian and his Jets travel to Tennessee to close out the regular season. Both of these teams could easily be fighting for a playoff spot come this point. It will most likely be a dog fight if so and we would hope and want nothing less!

Geno Smith Only Needs 1 Hit to Be Sidelined 4 Weeks

Geno: "Hello, yea I got hit again man. I need to sit out a few games."
OC: "What do you mean you need to sit out a few games? This is football son. You're gonna take some hits."
Geno: "Yea but these guys hit too hard. I want to go back to college where I ran the spread-O and could easily get my stats up there by dumping the ball off to Tavon without ever getting pressured or hit."
OC: "You have to be shitting me, Geno. You stupid sack of shit, sit on the bench and let us know when your vag stops leakin."

That's how I expect that convo went last night when Geno Smith left the game with a torn bicep. It was the first time he had got hit all game, and he immediately went down with pain. He's out for the next 4 weeks with that injury. The QB hasn't played a complete season in the NFL since, well EVER. The Titans organization are said to be so frustrated with him that they may just outright cut him. Zac Dysert came into the game against the Chiefs in week 1 and had a chance to win it. He then took a sack, that knocked them out of any would-be field goal range, and was hit as he threw on 4th down. The Titans went on to lose the game 17-14, but that was probably on the back burner of most people's thoughts. Geno Smith is a bum and a bust, and he may soon be in another uniform; on the bench and hurt for another organization.

He's a (()). Really thinking about releasing him. Fk him. Just used some XP on Dysert and he has better and just as good ratings as Geno. Only thing is he can't run the RO, but I don't use that much anymore anyways.

Titans Name QB Zac Dysert Starter, Bench Geno Smith

When Geno Smith went down with another injury in week 1, no one knew what to expect in Nashville. When he comes back from that injury next week, the Titans brass has already made it clear what to expect, Zac Dysert will remain the starter. Dysert was back-up to Smith last season, and when he went unclaimed in the initial free agency period this year the club decided to bring him back. Since taking over, Dysert has done nothing but impress. His ball control is very good and he's arguably a better pocket passer than the former starter. The Titans have stayed away from the read option for the first time in a few seasons and it appears to be working out pretty well for them. Dysert has a firm grasp on this new playbook and has the Titans offense looking the best it has in a while. The team has declined to answer whether or not they would be open to trading Geno Smith before the week 8 deadline, but if a team came knocking I'm sure they would listen to any and all offers. Congrats Zac, now go get us another division title!!

AFC South Tightly Contested Through 8 Weeks

Nashville, TN -- Heading into week 8 the Titans were in prime position to capture the divisional lead halfway through the season. Coming off of their bye week they needed to take care of the Cleveland Browns, and then watch the Jags (CHUNKNESS) beat the Colts (thafuture3886). Unfortunately for the Titans however, they wouldn't be able to take care of their own business. They dropped the game against the Browns and then saw the Jags beat the Colts in what appeared to be a very close game. Those three teams now sit at an even 5-2, which is now only 2 games ahead of the once 0-4 Houston Texans (saintsdave75). Coming off of their 3rd win in a row, Houston is now positioning themselves to get right back into things. They host our Titans this week in a week 4 rematch that saw the Titans pull it out 24-14. This is a huge game for both teams, and if Houston can pull out the W it will make this race that much more close. Indianapolis will travel to Denver and Jacksonville will host the Chargers in week 9. This is shaping up to be a race to the finish, and it'll be great to see how it all unfolds!

Titans on 3 Game Losing Streak, Need Quick Turnaround

Once upon a time, three short weeks ago, the Titans were tied for a first place lead in the AFC South. My how quickly things can change in the NFL. The Titans have dropped three straight games to the Browns, Texans, and Vikings; respectively. Heading into their bye week the Titans were red hot, coming out of it they have struggled mightily. Up next for the team is division foe and also division leading, Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are led by a stingy defense that very rarely breaks and who holds teams to a meager league leading 14.4 pts/gm. It's hard to call a week 11 matchup a "must-win", but the way the Colts and Jaguars are playing it almost certainly is a game the Titans must win.

Titans Drop Heartbreaking Loss to Jags, Owner Ensures Teams Future With Key Signings

It was a tough loss for the Tennessee Titans to endure last night. Up 17-0 throughout much of the game, the Titans would end up throwing it away, literally, and falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The loss puts them to an even 5-5, three games back of both Jacksonville and Indianapolis. From what we can see, this Titans team will not be a playoff contender through the back half of this season. With that said, we all know they won't quit fighting. Prior to yesterday's game, however; there was a brightspot for the Titans organization. Current owner and GM, Loren Lazaroe, made some key resignings. With his departure on the horizon, Lazaroe ensured that the franchise would be left in good standing and have a chance to compete for years to come. Among his resignings; DT Jurrell Casey, LB Zach Brown, SS Vinny Bass, DB Dre Kirkpatick, DB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, and PK Peyton Lioni. Some key pieces here that any owner who comes in will love to have and can definitely win with.

Doug Martin, Jordan Cameron Out for Season

Things have gone from ugly to attrocious in Tennessee. Late in the 4th quarter of their blowout loss to division rival Indianapolis, Doug Martin took a hit that apparently broke his jaw. The stud RB has been the lone brightspot for the Titans for most part of this season. He was on pace to rush for about 1800 yards this year, which would have been a career best. The team also got word this past week that Jordan Cameron's tailbone issue would keep him out for the remainder of the season. Two huge losses for this team that almost certainly does them in for the season. Not the ending anyone wanted here, but it all seems to be going down hill none-the-less.

Titans Send Owner Off With Impressive Victory

It was an impressive 27-17 victory over the AFC East champions, the New York Jets. It capped off an up and down 2019 season, the final one for the team owner. This team failed to ever make it deep into the playoffs, or even win a playoff game for that matter. But I think we would be hard pressed to say that this team was a disappointment. They won the 2017 AFC South division title, but also gave fans a lot of good memories. This owner put his all into the organization and made some risky trade moves, which saw big names like Brandon Marshall, Doug Martin, and Kyle Rudolph all come to Nashville. He went through four different starting QB's and never really seemed to find that one star he was looking for. The "Geno Smith Experiment" turned out to be a total disaster as he only managed to play in 10 games for the franchise. Zac Dysert eventually stepped into the role, and was actually the best QB that this owner ever had here. Doug Martin provided a big boost to the running game this past season, a running game that never got going before he got to Tennessee. The Dysert-Martin duo was by far the most successful under this owner's watch. Nothing but well wishes as he moves forward and onto the next chapter of his career. We anticipate, and definitely hope, that he will be making a return at some point down the line with another organization. Until then, GO TITANS!
