National Signing Day

Some big decisions are going to be made by some of the nation's top prep athletes on National Signing Day 2011. ESPN reranked their evaluations based on production from the 2010 season.

Steve Thompson a 6'6 222 athlete form Gladeview, FL became the nations #1 prospect. He has 18 scholarship offers to prove he deserves the ranking. In his senior season he starred at TE and DE for his team. He had 40 catches for 825 yards and 12 TD's and had 20 sacks on the season. Thompson doesn't care what position he plays in college, but says he has noticed that pass rushers get paid a lot more than TE's in the NFL.

Sdid's pick : Michigan

There is only two other players in the ESPN 150 that are undecided, Brian Wiley of Nevada and Brian Stallings of Louisianna both DE prospects. Sdid has Wiley going to Alabama and Stallings staying home to attend LSU.

Rounding out the Top 10

Matthew Rice #1 T #2 OVR Alabama

Rice has great strength and durablility (only missed 1 start in 3 years at varsity level). With attention to detail he could become an All=American.

Losers: Florida, LSU, PSU, tOSU

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Andy Robinson #2 T #3 OVR Alabama

Robinson gives Bama some bookends with Rice on board also. Robinson came from a run team that ran the ball 70 percent of the time in HS, so there lies his strength. Fits Bama's offense to a T.

Losers, LSU, tOSU, OU

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Brandon Clark #1 DT #4 OVR Ohio St.

Clark has great strength and a high motor. He goes hard but will need to increase his endurance. He can pass rush from that spot as well as stuff the run.

Losers: Alabama, OU, Michigan

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Todd Johnson #2 ATH #5 OVR Florida

Johnson, wasa jack of all trades for his HS team. He played some wildcat QB, WR, and Safety. Urban Meyer feels his natural position is Safety.

Losers: USC, LSU, tOSU

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Chad Cox #1 OLB #6 OVR Notre Dame

Brian Kelly pulls in a versatile LB who can run. He played safety in HS so his coverage skills are elite for the position, but tackling will have to improve.

Losers: Alabama, Michigan, tOSU

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Ryan Hodge #1 SS #7 OVR Oklahoma

Hodge is a big hitting safety. He was an undersized LB in HS so Bob Stoops looks to move him back a few yards to play SS for the Sooners. Speed and his ability to make reads in the secondary will be a concern.

Losers: Alabama, USC, tOSU

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Richard Morris #1 MLB #8 OVR Ohio St.

Morris is overrated. He is average in coverage and missed a lot of tackles last year. Has decent speed and athletic ability. His on field discipline will determine his success.

Losers: Alabama, PSU, LSU

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Dane Latimer #2 OLB #9 OVR Texas

Latimer has above average ability in speed, tackling, strength, and coverage skills. At 215 he will need to add weight.

Losers: LSU, OU, Alabama

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Robert Samuel #1 FS #10 OVR Oklahoma

Damuel gives Stoops the top two Safety prospects in the country. He has good speed and tackling ability. He is better in zone coverage than man. He lacks ideal agility to double moves tend to beat him.

Losers: Texas, tOSU, USC
