    Week 1: Navy @ Ohio State --- W 31-6

Ohio State shocked by play of Navy - 31-6 Upset in the Shoe

Navy came into the Shoe a heavy underdog but that didn't seem to phase them as they had their way with the Ohio State offense and defense.

In what is sure to be one of the biggest upsets of the college football season, Navy showed that they could be championship contenders this season with their impressive display against Ohio State.

The first series for the Ohio State offense was immediately put an end with a bad throw by QB T. Pryor that was intercepted by CB D. Wright.

Navy would capitalize on the turnover by driving down the field with one of their numerous clock chewing drives that would end with a 27 yard rushing TD on an option pitch to A. Byrd from R. Dobbs.

Following that would be two consecutive scores by Navy: A 27 yard chipshot FG by kicker J. Buckley and then, in the 2nd quarter, a strike from R. Dobbs to G. Myers from 15 yards out to make the score 17-0 part way through the 2nd quarter.

Ohio State would then show some life with two FGs from 30 yards and 26 yards to make the score 17-6 at halftime.

It looked like in the 4th quarter that things were going to turn around for Ohio State as their defense finally started to figure out the vaunted Navy option attack, but neither team was able to score in the 3rd quarter, but Navy ended it driving down the field, threatening to finally put the game away.

And that's just what they did quickly at the beginning of the 4th quarter with two quick scores:

First R. Dobbs broke an arm tackle on his way to his first rushing TD of the year on a 13 yard scamper up the middle.

Then, the final score wouldn't be the Navy offense but the Navy defense on the very next Ohio State possession. Pryor attempted to throw the ball short with pressure in his face and he apparently didn't even see LB C. Sovie as he threw it right to him. Sovie didn't waste any time taking it to the house to make the score 31-6 and put the game finally away from any magical 4th Quarter comeback that Pryor might have had up his sleeve.

Navy Continues to Romp Through Schedule - Leaps Past Pittsburgh

Navy traveled to Heinz Field to play the Pitt Panthers and continues to showcase their vaunted fleXbox One option offense.

Navy started the game just like they always do, pounding the ball down their opponent's throat and this game was no different. The drive ended with a 1 yard HB quick sweep TD by RB A. Byrd. He then added to the lead with a 19 yard reception off of playaction from R. Dobbs to make it 14-0.

Then, in the 2nd quarter, Dobbs added a 4 yard TD run to the scoreboard.

Then, in the 4th quarter Byrd scored one of his three rushing TDs from 6 yards out to put the game finally away.

Unfortunately, in the 1st quarter, Navy's leading rusher fullback Alex Teich went down for an undefined amount of time, but Ricky Dobbs stepped up his game to help the offense. It will be up to him to continue to step up his game if the Midshipmen have a chance to continue their dominance.

Three more wins in succession, including a 28-0 blanking of the Air Force academy has Navy sitting at 6-0 halfway through the season.
