One of my favorite non-Cavs that i grew up watching. Always fun to see him play and shoot the lights out the gym.
Dipping into the Eastern Time Zone here because i wanted to get this posted up.... Bingo Smith. The only Cavalier to EVER don the number 7. The man who could hit long range shots before the three point shot was even instituted. Bingo also led the Cavs to 3 playoff seasons including the 75-76 season where the Cavs made it all the way to the ECF's before getting bounced by the legendary Boston Celtics in 6 games.
One of the best all offense gunners I ever watched. Ben never played defense, couldn't set up his teammates or run the offense, but lawd help the other team when he got hot shooting the rock.
More known for rockin the deuce-deuce in his time in Cleveland, the great Larry Nance rocked 6 in Cleveland after being brought over from Phoenix in a Feb. 25th, 1988 trade. Nance was a key cog in the Cavs great run through the late 80’s and early 90’s. He’s actually featured in the Classic Cavs teams that 2K has featured over the last couple versions and a player I have enjoyed using in the past.
My favorite role player growing up as a kid. His performance in the deciding game 5 vs the Lakers to win the first title (where he scored 10 points in the last half of the 4th quarter) and the shot pictured above to beat Phoenix in game 6 two years later cemented his legacy to Bulls fans everywhere.
He was only in Orlando a year but it was nice to have one of the Fab 5 on the team since they traded Webber on draft night.
I always wondered what it could have been if the Cavs got Kemp in his prime, but then again if he wasn't the man who just couldn't turn down a good cheeseburger with a side of some nice narcotics, the Cavs never would have been able to successfully tank for LBJ...
So Craig Ehlo is definitely the most famous #3 for the Cavaliers, but the guy i grew up watching was Bobby Sura. The kid seemed to have skills but just couldn't put it together consistently. He was on 2 Cavs playoff teams and in his final season as a Cav, chucked up 332 threes hitting on about 36% of them and finished 11th in the league in both attempts and makes.
