    NC St. Wolfpack Observer

Well this season looks like we will be stumbling around for awhile folks. The season started on the road at UCLA. This game was 7-3 Bruins for quite some time. Both teams scored early and left the score that way. As a matter of fact it wasn't until the 2nd half when things would heat up.

    2nds half---------------------------------

Down 14-3 the Pack decided to kick it into gear and drove down the field for a TD 14-10. It stayed that way until the 4th quarter when UCLA again took a two score advantage. Not out of it yet, the Wolfpace scratched and clawed their way down the field and brought the score to 21-16 after a failed 2pt. conversion. This was at the 2:59 mark of the 4th quarter. The very next play (the kickoff) was ran back for a TD and back to back picks added to the demise as we would lose 42-16. With games against notre dame and michigan up next the season will be an uphill challenge. On the bright side of things coach TRude does like the talent level of what will be his first full recruiting class early on. Stay tuned for signings in the weeks to come.

It's been a few weeks because we keep losing user matchups therefore we aren't in writeup territory. Well this week we decided to lose to the cpu controlled North Carolina Tarheels. This game yet again just had a Wolfpack team committing way to many mistakes. Too many times early this year we have had wide open guys just drop passes. Getting down 14-0 in the first half there was almost an awakening. First NCST would score a FG. Then following an interception we went down and made the score 14-10. That's as close as we would get though because we didn't score again. QB Glennon who actually has an arm was unable to get into any rythm as he was sacked 5 times and hit a countless amount of others. Final score in this one 24-10 Tarheels. Coach RudeDude has not given up on this team, but really needs to a get a win and build off of it. All we can do right now is wait for the next advance.

Although i already submitted this summary i guess i was idle too long before sending it over and must have been logged out. anyways the NC St. Wolfpack have gotten their first win!!! With a gang of recruits visiting this week it was the biggest game of the year. Still looking at possibly making a miracle bowl run the Pack came out and get off to a 14-0 lead. In fact they held that lead all the way through the game. When things started to get a little tight they kicked a short Fg and wound up holding off for a big win 17-14. Their top 6 rated recruits were all in attendance and this win looks to be the big turnaround we were looking for!!!

    * my original summary was much more energetic, but after typing a whole hell of a lot more it was disheartening to see no summary there.

Well folks you can paint me purple and call me red, but it looks like we actually have something with this program. One week after beating Viriginia NC St. traveled into a hostile enviroment to face rival Clemson.

1st quarter started off a bit rocky. Clemson actually drove right down the field and scored a TD 7-0 Tigers

2nd quarter NC St. still had the ball on their opening drive and wound up kicking a short field goal 7-3 Tigers. Immediately answering back was Clemson as they marched down the field for yet another TD. 14-3 Tigers. Now at this point in previous games for the Wolfpack the towel would just about be thrown in. However, just like last week this team showed heart, determination, and a never say die attitude. QB Mike Glennon took command of the offense hitting on numerous third downs and even a fourth down conversion. These all paid off as they capped off the drive and the half with a TD 14-10 Tigers at the half.

3rd quarter was a bunch of defense for both teams. In fact the fourth quarter was too. The only play in the second half that would go for a score was the 55 yard TD run by senior tailback Brandon Barnes who shrugged off two would be tacklers and coasted into the endzone on the final play of the 3rd quarter. Defense held tight and NC St. has back to back 17-14 wins.

*These guys are thinking bowl game appearance now. It will take a win against a tough user opponent as well as winning out against some cpu opponents, but anything is possible.

Well folks this NC State team definately has a flare for the dramatic. This week we had a couple of key recruits come in for visits and boy oh boy did they have a good time.

This game was always a 1 score game for both teams. Mike Glennon threw for 300 yards. The defense came up with stops when we really needed them. In fact we were down 17-10 at the half. Little did we know they would only score two more FG's. Glennon and the offense kept on attacking. Down by a Fg with only about 2:00 minutes left the NC St. kicker hit the game tying FG. West Virginia got a first down or two until the Wolfpack came up with a FUMBLE!!! Wolfpack ball at midfield with a minute and a half left in the game. Glennon again wouldn't be denied as we marched down the field while killing the clock. Time out taken with :03 secs left in the game with the ball at the 10 yardline. Kick is up and GOOD!!!! NC St. goes 3-3 on FG's and that wound up being the difference when it was all said and done. 23-20 NC St.

*We must win out to be bowl eligable, but there is no quit in this team. We feel like if we beat Miami then we are going to go bowling!!! Key recruiting year has been a HUUUUUUUUUGE success and this program is definately moving in the right direction.
