Q: What are your expectations for the 2012 season (projected record as well)?
A: My #1 goal is to win the Pac-10 title. My #2 goal is to have a winning record in user games. Hopefully if these 2 goals are reached I will be in the hunt for the National Championship. I wont complain if I end up 12-1.

    Q: Team Strengths
    A:
Offense - I am a ton of talent at the skill positions on offense. QB Barkley and RB McNeal are both 97ovr and 1st year starters. FB Shomate is 94ovr and I love my WR an TEs.
Defense - My DE's are beasts. My secondary is highly rated and can play press man very well.

    Q: Team Weaknesses
A: Not many on paper. The left side of my line is not amazing and my DE aren't super strong.

Q: Key losses (players) from last season (as best as you can remember)?
A: Corp left so I will run a more conventional offense with Barkley. Lost some talent at MLB but the new guys should step in nicely.

    Q: Key returning players ?
A: RE Wes Horton 99ovr. Uona Kaveinga 95 ovr didn't play last year because Gallipo was in front of him, but he should have a big year. SS TJ McDonald 94ovr looks to be a force this season.

Q: Do you have any freshmen that will impact your team this season?
A: No FR is higher than 3rd on the depth chart this year.

Q: Recruiting focus for this year?
A: QB, as Barkley will likely leave early. FB is a position I would really like to improve. D-Line is a point of concern for the future as I have 3/4 senior starters.

Q: Biggest game on your schedule?
A:Week 8 @ Oregon. What should be the conference championship game, this game will determine if I have a successful season or not. After getting blown out at home last year, this game will be circled on the Trojan's calendar.

What are your expectations for the 2012 season? Championships!!!

    Team Strengths
Offense except QB. LaMichael James is ready for a huge year, and it couldnt have come at a better time as Oregon's QB situation is suspect this season. The Linebackers are good, but there are only 2 on the field in this system and its the same with the CBs.

    Team Weaknesses
Quarterback. Straight up haha. Oregon is young at the SS position, starting a true soph and true freshman, which could spell trouble for the 4-2-5. Oregon is also inexperienced at DE.

Key losses (players) from last season (as best as you can remember)? Thomas(QB) Paulson(FB)

    Key returning players?
    L. James(HB) D. Jordan(TE)

Do you have any freshmen that will impact your team this season?
Yes. I am starting true freshman at DE and at the #2 SS slot. Both these guys will be lining up with sophomore counterparts, and they are all going to have to step-up and make plays. The SS is 6'5 210lbs!! There is another true freshman SS waiting in the wings if big guy cant get it done.

    Recruiting focus for this year?
QB, WR, TE, DE, maybe a good LB

    Biggest game on your schedule?
Im not overlooking anyone. Although, if I can make it to Utah undefeated or with 1-loss that could be a huge game in Eugene.

    Ohio State Season Preview

What are your expectations for the 2012 season (projected record as well)?

Win the Big 10, avenge at least one loss to either Texas or Florida, preferably both. 11-2

Team StrengthsDefense, specifically the front 7. All starters are well over 90 overall, all are fast, all can tackle. Only one defensive starter is lower than 90 ovr and that is RS FR SS Joey Payne. All defensive starters have significant game experience as well.

Team Weaknesses TBD on paper QB, but I don't think that will really be a weakness. Center possibly.

Key losses (players) from last season (as best as you can remember)?

C Michael Brewster, and LT Mike Adams

Key returning players ? HB Jamaal Berry, WR Duron Carter , CB Corey Brown

Do you have any freshmen that will impact your team this season? RS FR SS Joey Payne, possibly true FR QB Leonard Jackson if Kenny Guiton struggles.

Recruiting focus for this year? DE, LB depth, HB as always

Biggest game on your schedule? Week 3 Florida @ Ohio State. but like someone else said, they're all big games and we don't overlook anyone.

    Texas Longhorns 2012 Preview

What are your expectations for the 2012 season (projected record as well)?
The goal is to win the Big 12 and the BCS title, but with the number of new starters on the team, my expectation is that at some point the young guys will falter and I will drop at least one user game. I'm projecting a record of 11-2 or 12-1 regular season.

    Team Strengths
The team is strong at most of the offense skill positions, with returning starter Garrett Gilbert at QB; HB's Tre Newton, Chris Whaley and Jeremy Hills and WR's DJ Monroe and the other smurf who's name I can't recall. The defensive line should be good again, with 3 of the 4 returning starters and all are ranked in the 90's. The LB corp is talented but unproven, as only one starter remains from last years championship team.

    Team Weaknesses
The secondary is a concern, as the team has to replace all world safety's Earl Thomas and Christian Scott who graduated. At FS Vaccarro is stepping in as a RS junior to anchor the unit, but 2 redshirt freshman will start in the back 4. In the teams 3 and 4 WR sets, there will be RS freshman playing significant time as well.

Key losses (players) from last season
17 seniors graduated, including the entire secondary, so I won't list everyone, but the guy who left that I was hoping would be here in 2012 is TE DJ Grant. Thankfully, Texas has recruited 3 TE's the past 2 seasons.

    Key returning players
QB Garrett Gilbert - Will be looking at a potential Heisman run, as he threw for over 3,000 yards and 33 TD's last year, even though he didn't start until week 4.
HB Tre Newton - Can he stay healthy?

Do you have any freshmen that will impact your team this season
Yes, a lot of freshman will play significant time this year at WR, TE, LT, CB and SS.

    Recruiting focus for this year
With only 9 graduating seniors and no real holes on the roster, the coaches will be focusing on the most talented players available, starting with LT jr. the super OLB in the 2012 class.

    Biggest game on your schedule
Obviously the user games are huge, but at least this year we get OSU and Bama in Austin. The Red River Shootout is always the biggest game of the year, since it will decide the Big 12 champion. The week 5 game vs rival Baylor will loom large in recruiting this year.

    Florida Gators Preview

What are your expectations for the 2012 season (projected record as well)?

It will depend on the play of the quarterback. If Jordan Reed can step up and avoid turnovers, this team has a good shot at a National Title. Unforfortunately he faces a few tough early matches, so he will need to quickly develop a rhythm with his receivers.

    Projected record: 13-1

    Team Strengths

The passing game should be very good if Reed can play to his abilities. He has a tremendous group of wide receivers and tight ends. The defensive line also looks to be very strong, especially Earl Okine and Gary Brown in the middle.

    Team Weaknesses

The offensive line is the big question mark for the Gators. The o-line will need to give Reed time and ope up holes for Mike Gilislee in running game. The secondary also has to replace FS Will Hill and CB Janoris Jenkins, both players were selected in NFL Draft.

Key losses (players) from last season (as best as you can remember)?

FS Will Hill - defensive captain and one of the best safeties in college football last season

LB Lorenzo Edwards - two year starter and tackling machine in the middle of the Gators defense

OG James Wilson - anchored the offensive line and often was matched up against opponent's best defensive lineman

CB Janoris Jenkins - shut down corner who grabbed 5 interceptions in his senior season

LB Brandon Hicks - made a ton of tackles and also grabbed a few interceptions

    Key returning players

SS Dee Finley - grabbed 8 interceptions last season and led the team in tackles

WR Frankie Hammond Jr. - fast wide receiver who led Gators in every receiving category

HB Mike Gillisslee - powerful running back who led Gators in rushing touchdowns last season, 13

TE Desmond Park and Albert McBride - big targets who really turned it up at the end of the season

Do you have any freshmen that will impact your team this season?

SS Phillip Alston - true freshman who could see time passing downs or if an injury occurs to Finley

DT Jorge Little - true freshman who will be backup defensive tackle behind Okine/Brown

    Recruiting focus for this year?

Wide receiver and tight end are the focus on the offensive side of the ball. I'm also hoping to add depth to the offensive line. Fullback is a need for the Gators but a position rarely used in the spread offense. Quarterback and halfback are deepest positions, so little attention given to these areas. On defensive side the Gators need to add some linebackers and defensive ends. Secondary was a big recruiting focus last season so little time is being spent on this area. Defensive tackle is also fairly well stocked, but may add one more player for depth.

    Biggest game on your schedule?

The Oklahoma and Ohio State games are big, but Florida State game is always the biggest match regular season match for Gators. The Gators are out for revenge as the Seminoles loss cost the team a shot at the National Title. Florida also does not want to lose its 4th straight game against its in state rival.

Wreceiver and tight end are the focus on the offensive side of the ball.

    2012 Alabama Team Preseason

What are your expectations for the 2012 season (projected record as well)?

Even with the amount of talent that departed Alabama the Crimson Tide truly expects to be contenders this season. Alabama has lost every SEC Championship game they have competed in under Coach Papa and they are focusing on that but they are also focused on the big time teams they play this season. We are going in prepared to win the close games so our main goal is to keep the big games close.

    Team Strengths

It would have to be the running backs. Alabama proved late last season that any of their running backs can push the ball forward to put the team in good situations.

    Team Weaknesses

Defensive experience by the new starters. 4 of the key starters played a different position last season and BJ Scott played on the other side of the ball last season. Also 6 of the front 7 are starting for the first time this season. On the offense, experience at WR is also a concern. Michael Bowman showed out last season but there are concerns on how he will take the pressure of being the teams #1 WR.

Key losses (players) from last season (as best as you can remember)?

    HB Mark Ingram
    WR Darius Hanks
    WR Marquis Maze
    WR Brandon Gibson
    DL Josh Chapman
    DL Luther Davis
    DL Marcel Dareus
    LB Courtney Upshaw
    LB Jerrelle Harris
    LB Donta Hightower
    S Robby Green

    Key returning players?

    QB Star Jackson
    HB Trent Richardson
    HB/KR Eddie Lacy
    WR Michael Bowman
    TE Brad Smelley
    LB Nico Johnson
    DB Dre Kirkpatrick
    S Mark Barron

Do you have any freshmen that will impact your team this season?

The 2 WR that were heavily recruited will be eased into the gameplan at a steady pace.
    Recruiting focus for this year?

The only roster need is C but we'll be recruiting one strictly as a backup. With only 10 roster spots open and possibly more opening up with guys that could possibly leave early, Alabama will be recruiting talent for the future. We have however found 1 player who could start right away.

    Biggest game on your schedule?

Even though Oregon and Texas are very talented teams with great coaches, the biggest game for Alabama's regular season will be the first meeting on the college level against Coach Noles. They have met on the pro level one time and Coach Papa won but it was a close and exciting game like this one is anticipated to be. So ladies and gentlemen, in the words of Terrell Owens: "Get'cha popcorn ready!"

What are your expectations for the 2012 season (projected record as well)?
I have 3 main goals this season...
    1. Avenge that 4 OT loss to Notre Dame
    2. Beat Ohio St
    3. Beat Ohio St.

I finished the regular season at 7-5 last year and I would be disappointed with anything less than 10-2 this year.

    Team Strengths
I think the passing game will be much improved this year. I'm looking for Forcier to have a big year. He should be getting a lot of protection this year as my o-line is really good.

    Team Weaknesses
My LBs are talented but young, so we will see how that goes. There might be some growing pains along the way with that unit.

Key losses (players) from last season (as best as you can remember)?
I'm going to miss HB Mike Shaw the most. Then again I missed him for about 6 weeks last year and it still stings. I'll also miss WR Martavious Odoms as he'll be lighting it up in the Metrodome this season with the Vikings.

    Key returning players ?
TATE!! He missed the last 5 weeks or so of last season and he's back ready to take over.

Do you have any freshmen that will impact your team this season?
HB - Kevin Smith and Jordan Avery will see some playing time this year.
TE - I've got 2 :5stars: recruits at TE in Jamar Rice and Victor Hines and they will both be making big plays.
MLB - Eric Roberts is the #2 MLB but will see some playing time.
OLB - Nick Starks is the starting ROLB and will be wreaking havoc.

    Recruiting focus for this year?
My top 3 CBs and top 3 FSs are all seniors so I'm definitely looking for some DB help.

    Biggest game on your schedule?
Well the obvious one is Ohio St, but look out in week 2 against Notre Dame. Last year we went to 4 overtimes and this year promises to be just as exciting.

    GAME OF THE WEEK PICK

All right, time to start off the new season right. I had about a .500 record predicting user games last year, but things got lost a bit at seasons end with my travel schedule during the championships and bowls.

We kick off 2012 with a huge matchup between SEC and ACC powers Alabama and Florida State. These two teams were in the top 3 in offseason trash talking (tied with Oregon), and it seems fitting that one of their seasons will immediately be turned on it's ear. Bama has sworn to win the SEC and get into the title game this year, trying to end a 3 year run of losses to the Gators. FSU was rolling through 2011, winning convincingly vs Florida to close the season and the Noles looked poised for a rematch in the BCS title game vs Texas. 'Not so fast my friends' said Coach Beazus in the ACC title game, as the Canes stunned the nation with a 1 point victory over Florida State to take the ACC crown. Following that game, Coach KnighNoles put the nation on notice that 2012 would be the year of the Criminoles and no mercy would be shown to any team that took the field with them.

FSU offense vs Alabama defense - This would appear to be a matchup of strength vs strength in the running game. FSU was dominant on the ground in 2011 and Bama has a stellar front 7 at stopping the run. FSU has a new QB this year, with EJ Manuel leaving early for the pros, as well as a slew of new WR's starting this year. However, they return their top two HB's. If the Noles can run the rock and control the clock, it could be big trouble for the Tide.

Alabama offense vs FSU defense - Here is where I think the game is truly going to be decided. Under Coach Papa, the Tide have been amongst the worst teams in the country at turnover margin for the past two seasons. Combine this with the fact that the Noles have led the nation in turnover margin in those same two past seasons, and it doesn't paint a pretty picture. Flat out, the Tide need to be able to run the ball, and keep the offense in manageable situations so that they can throw when they want to, not when they have to. If Bama can't run the ball vs a very talented FSU defensive line, they are toast.

The pick - It always comes down to turnovers in user games, and this one will be no exception. Even though FSU is going to be on the road with a new QB, I think the Noles defense dominates the day. FSU 38 - Alabama 24.

Yeah I can get this together tonight when I get off work. I did something similar for Rivalry so it shouldn't take much time. If you want me to focus on user battles would it be better for me to wait till week 2? I can guess which prospects will be sought after but I won't be able to see scholarship offers by other teams until the following week.

Speaking of recruiting, Florida locked up 3 players this morning. 2 of the players are 5-star recruits and the other is a 4-star. Needless to say I went to work happy this morning. I will update when I get home since I rushed through recruiting this morning. I have to assume that Dru either did not do his recruiting yet or the #1 OLB did not instant commit. ;)

Hurry up and offer him a scholarship. I don't want to blow my last 3 hours on a committed player :p

Oregon blasts Duke 49-6 in a glorified scrimmage. (RS)Junior QB C. Williams looked pretty good throwing the ball, and B. James came in to run a few option plays. A 2 QB system is definitely a possibility that will be explored by the Ducks. Oregon also added a new wrinkle to their offense by installing a few Wildcat or "Wild Duck" plays, the first of which was taken to the house by (RS)Senior HB Jide Shinaba. LaMichael James was the story of this game though... He got a lot of carries (27) and hopefully he can pull the load all season without getting injured. Coach Max will also be looking to split the carries between James and Shinaba more as the season goes on. Dion Jordan looked unstoppable against Duke. Oregon really needs him to stay healthy and contribute for the entirety of his Senior year.

On defense, the true freshman looked beastly. 6'5 211lb freshman SS Kevin Williams had a great game leading the Ducks with 11 Tackles and 1 TFL. Oregon's other true freshman starter, 6'5 245lb DE David Dawson also had a good debut making 4 Tackles, 2TFL, and 1 devastating sack.

    Williams
    19/26 205yd 2TD 1INT

    James
    27ATT 208yd 2TD

    Shinaba
    6ATT 65yd 2TD

    Jordan
    7REC 115yd 2TD

The Ducks now have to gear up for a HUGE game in Tuscaloosa week 2. Hope youre ready for a heavy dose of the run-game Perry!

You are lucky I'm not a bigger jackass than I am, what if I were to tell you tonight that I landed him even though I didn't, that way you, Bama and everyone else didn't spend any time on him giving me a week up in the chase.:p

    Damn my morality.

The best part is, now that I brought up the possibility that I may lie, cheat and steal to get that LB, they'll never know if I'm telling the truth when I post an update tonight.

    mwahahahahahaha!!!!!
