NCAA '11: Season 1 - Recruiting Thread
How are those new recruits?
So fresh and so clean.
No Limitations other than the 70 rule?
As far as I am concerned...that jive with you?
Cool with me
This is the worst recruiting year in the history of Texas.
I have way to many good recruits on my board...I'll end up not getting any of them...
For me, that's the biggest adjustment to recruiting this year. In years past, I'd go for a ton of studs, and then after 4 or so weeks, cut bait on the ones I couldn't get and then grab some new, lesser guys to replace them.
In this years game, it's very difficult to find new guys in week 4 or 5 that you even have a shot at signing, let alone that are worth a damn.
Stupid question, but for me, it wasn't obvious where to set the recruiting difficulty slider (and it defaults to varsity) but I found it because I checked every menu while creating my online dynasty.
Did you set the recruiting slider to AA?
The state of Texas has 1 5 star recruit, a guard who is rated like 38th overall.
Good thing I have a ton of young depth and don't really need any position badly this year. Sheesh.
Wow, down year.
Ohio has a pretty good crop this year, but not many have me where I want to be on the board...who the hell want's to go to Cincy?
It won't be possible for me to add California as a pipeline state this year, which blows.
It's really tough to find guys that really like Michigan AND are worth a damn.
Gotta just do it the hard way, chase some crappy recruits you know you can get from CA to get the required 5 guys. It may take you a couple seasons, but it's definitely possible.
Those thrashing the Gators delivered to the ole buckeyes in `06 & `07 were obviously present in the game. There's lots of Ohio kids who are dying to come down south and play where the real talent is. I think we'll be having quite a few recruiting battles this year if season 1 is any indication.
(Shaun, you don't need a punter in season 1 do you?)
I heard this was frowned upon in the sim community haha
But Miami is not looking very good... Only pipeline is florida
Why would it be frowned on? Taking guys you normally wouldn't to build inroads to new states is good strategy to me.
I heard some guys talking about it in the Locker Room. Something along the lines of recruiting bums in real life would not open up other talent to wanting to come to your school. I could care less either way
Ah, I understand. I disagree, but I understand. As I see it, if I'm Texas and I give some 3 star kids in LA schollies to come to Austin, that helps build my reputation with the high school coaches in that state.
Ya 3 star kids would not be a problem at all, It could be a little different if you were signing 1 star's just to get a pipeline though lol
Do you guys have 1 *s interested in you? I don't have 1 single, solitary 1* or even 2* kid interested in my school. It looks like EA made it a hard rule that 2* kids won't even consider a 6* school. That should make things interesting when it comes time to grab a kicker or punter unless they've add a lot more 3* and above ones compared to last year's game.
I think you could still pull them if you recruited them
If you want to carry a 1 star guy for four years to help get a pipeline state, IDGAF.
Separate names with a comma.
