    Welcome to Week 5!

    =============== #13 Georgia Bulldogs (3-1) ===============
    Last week, Georgia won 34-30 against Wisconsin (1-2).
    This week, the Bulldogs are idle.
    ---Stopping RB James White was a huge accomplishment in itself, keeping him to just 68 yards. But coach makinpropel and his Bulldogs almost squandered this victory. QB Aaron Murray threw 3 picks on the game but the big play was a 53 yard connection to Sanford Seay, which put up Georgia for good.

    =============== #11 Utah Utes (3-1) ===============
    Last week, Utah won 55-14 against USC (0-2).
    This week, the Utes are idle.
    ---The Utes thrashed USC behind the legs of Thretton Palamo who rushed for 235yds on the game. The Utah run game has been particularly strong of late so continue to see how well they do as the season moves along.

    =============== Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-2) ===============
    Last week, Mississippi State lost 66-41 against Michigan State (3-0).
    This week, the Bulldogs will host #4 Penn State (2-0).
    ---Coach smlVICTORIES53 showed some anger in his recent loss to #6 ranked Michigan State. RB Levon Bell went off though, to the tune of 419 yards and no that's not a typo. To make matters worse, he ran it in 8 TIMES! An unbelievable individual effort by Bell. It didn't help that Bulldog QB's threw 4 INT's on the game.

    =============== #8 Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-0) ===============
    Last week, Nebraska won 35-6 against Clemson (1-2).
    This week, the Cornhuskers will host Northwestern (1-3).
    ---Nebraska's defense has been tuning up and getting better as the weeks go on and this effort was impressive especially with the athletes that the Tigers have on their team. They held the Tigers to just 245 yds of offense throughout the whole game.

    =============== #10 Ole Miss Rebels (3-0) ===============
    Last week, Ole Miss won 59-10 against Memphis (1-2).
    This week, the Rebels travel to Auburn to face the #19 Auburn Tigers (2-1).
    In recruiting news, the following Ole Miss targets have announced their decisions:
    - (*****) CB Matt Morris has committed to Ole Miss
    ---The Rebels have been quietly impressive, albeit against a team like Memphis. But that game was a fine tune-up for their big time battle against Auburn.

    =============== #4 Penn State Nittany Lions (2-0) ===============
    Last week, Penn State won 33-24 against Florida State (0-3).
    This week, the Nittany Lions travel to Starkville to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-2).
    ---FSU has been a mess this year and PSU, welcoming back coach jms493 from his honeymoon, seemed to not fire on all cylinders on his first game back. But this was a good tuneup for their game against Mississippi State.

    =============== #1 Stanford Cardinal (3-0) ===============
    Last week, Stanford won 42-18 against Oregon (2-1).
    This week, the Cardinal travel to Tempe to face the #23 Arizona State Sun Devils (2-0).
    ---Stanford's defense against Oregon wasn't the best. They gave up over 500 yards of offense but when they needed to buckle down, they did, forcing Oregon to go for 3 FG's instead of possible TD's. That's a big swing and Stanford faces ASU next which will be broadcast on the Stanford network tonight.

    =============== #21 Tennessee Volunteers (2-2) ===============
    Last week, Tennessee lost 52-28 against Florida (3-1).
    This week, the Volunteers are idle.
    In recruiting news, the following Tennessee targets have announced their decisions:
    - (***) DT Adam Jones has committed to Tennessee
    - (***) SS Aaron Jones has committed to Tennessee
    - (***) LOLB Johnnie Gray has committed to Tennessee
    ---Miss State wasn't the only team thrashed this week. Coach lilmaggie and his Vols were destroyed by the Gators. This game was 31-28 going into the 4th quarter until the Gators scored 21 unanswered points. This bye week couldn't have come any sooner for the Vols.

    =============== Wisconsin Badgers (1-2) ===============
    Last week, Wisconsin lost 34-30 against Georgia (3-1).
    This week, the Badgers travel to Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers (3-0).
    ---The Badgers lost without their coach and rumors are circulating when he will come back. There's no current timetable.

    =============== #23 Arizona State Sun Devils (2-0) ===============
    Last week, Arizona State won 28-21 against UCLA (1-3).
    This week, the Sun Devils will host #1 Stanford (3-0).
    ---ASU barely beat out UCLA (boy aren't they tough jfosh?) edging them out in OT. They have their biggest game to date against the #1 ranked Stanford Cardinal. This could be a huge win for the program if they can manage the upset.

    =============== Michigan Wolverines (1-2) ===============
    Last week the Wolverines were idle.
    This week, the Wolverines will host #22 Notre Dame (3-0).
    ---The Wolverines took a week off and have been trying to work out the kinks with their squad. They now host the Fighting Irish, who has gotten off to a nice start, going 3-0.

    =============== #12 Oregon State Beavers (2-1) ===============
    Last week, Oregon State lost 38-26 against Alabama (2-0).
    This week, the Beavers will host Washington (2-1).
    ---Another user coach goes down, this time it's Coach_III and his Beavers. Bama simply was too much for the Beavers. It's tough to win in Tuscaloosa when your QB throws 4 picks on the game and the defense gives up 289yds rushing to Dee Hart.

    #1 Stanford struggles early, Downs Devils 35-16

    ASU was able slow the Cardinal for two quarters but was unable to match them in the second half. So, in the end home cooking wasn't enough for the Devils to get by the # 1 team in the nation. Arizona took a 13-7 lead into half-time but Stanford scored 21 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter. ASU added a FG in the third and Stanford added another TD for good measure in the 4th for a final of 35-16.

    What Stanford didn't have figured out in the first half they solved in the second half. HB Anthony Wilkerson racked up 104 yards (most coming in the second half), highlighted by a nice 56 yard run for a TD. Wilkerson finished the day with 3 touchdowns. QB Josh Nunes wasn't spectacular but was solid and only attempted 13 passes. WR Stanley Pryor was his primary target hauling in 4 passes for 73 yards.

    Defensively Stanford was tough on the run but its secondary shined picking up 3 interceptions.

    Arizona State was its own worse enemy on offense picking up holding calls on a kick-off return for a TD, a couple of more huge gains were wiped out on holds, and a few more holding calls put the Devils in tough down and distances.

    We were happy with the way we played but couldn't overcome the holding calls. QB Taylor Kelly forced some balls in the second half but looked good early in the game. JJ Holliday was held in check and was well guarded over the top. Roy Finch may start next week, he only had 2 carries and deserves more.
