Bob and I have been talking about what is best for Bowlin' for Roses in NCAA '12. We have been talking about moving this league to 24 hours for CPU for sure and possibly allowing 48 for user games. There are some things that need to be ironed out outside of BfR but I want to get some discussion going. We also have been considering changing the format to SEC, Big Ten and Pac 10. Hopefully, I get some thoughts from you guys regarding this. @B0BJR0526 @ryty32 @sdid22 @Cimmy24 @nrg_qbz-_- @tuco418 @H22APWRD94 @_MG_ @Zikry @onaradio34 @T2Express
I do too, I am all about keeping the league as realistic as can be. In terms of scheduling, I like to see the Big Ten meet up with Pac Ten and SEC schools. One of the reasons I like this set-up also is that the recruiting is more balanced and you can compete more.
I like the idea of having only 2 conferences. I haven't been in BFR since the beginning, but with 2 conferences you really can build rivalries with the other 5 guys in your conference, and make fun of the other conference (which is easy when its the Pac-10)...I think with 3 conferences you just lose something in terms of that..plus with the 2 conferences we have going now im always keeping track of the other 5 guys in the big 10 and seeing how they do in recruiting/games because that directly affects me..with 3 conferences I personally wouldn't have much interest in 8 of the 12 teams here, which I think is a bit much...I like the 2 conference system but if everyone else wants to go to 3 then I'm fine with that as well (as long as I get South Carolina) lol.... 24 hour advances against the CPU is no problem with me either, the only thing that would be a problem with 24 hour advances in general would be user games, but if you give a 48 hour window in weeks with a bunch of user games, with the idea that the sooner the game was played the better, that would be cool as well...
I see what you are saying but I feel like you would still have that us against them mentality even more so with another conference. You can still get into your conference and the Big Ten and Pac Ten added with championship games will be a huge addition to the league. I have a thought too about opening up the conference challenge and involving more ways to decide it with goals and points.
If we keep format as is, might as well say 48 hr advances. We really only have like 3 or 4 weeks without at least 1 user game. A 3 conference setup with 3-4 user games would make 24 hr advances much more manageable. Bowl Week would be cool as well with the Big 10 having tie ins vs the Pac 10 in the Rose and vs the SEC in the Cap 1 and Outback bowls. This sounds like sig-quality territory here *end speculation*
For now, it seems as though I am going to take over the commish spot for Hack in SH until he is ready. I still want to run BfR or would have Mike or Diddy or Bob take the commish over. Still want to hear what you guys want to do with the concept. I am leaning more towards 48 hours now.
Honestly I wouldn't mind a three conf setup. But as most of us are in Sh I'd like it the two lgs to have different setups.
I don't know. I'll kinda miss that "oh fuck" moment when a user realizes they have Notre Dame that week. Was any CPU team more competitive than ND? I know I dropped one to them and just recently squeaked out a 7-pt win.
I just like adding the SEC because it will give all users a better chance to win off the bat if that's what they want, and giving guys more options who aren't 100% aligned with any teams from the Big 10 or Pac 10.
