The Experience BRUCE80 Raidernation Here's the new recruiting spreadsheet to keep track of your recruits. Please use this thread to post about your recruiting updates. Masler, please sticky this and remove the sticky on the old one.
UCLA signs its first three recruits of the season. Michael Flynn #55 ovr #10 WR Jacob Pierce #8 C Terrance Hicks #13 FB
Couple new Cougars in Pullman. Ty looks like an eventual starter. Kyle Nicols will start next year no matter what....Good thing is Kickers progress quick.
First off...We can't afford to spend points scouting....we have to rely on what we see...and hope our eyes and gut is right...our points must be spent on recruiting players. So while I may know little about his real skills...I do know allot about my current players and what we do have next year...it's an easy 2+2 he will contribute. Because we aren't Cal...we aren't in California. We don't have choice talent running around everywhere....like Cal/UCLA or some of the other top School picks, we have a bit of a chip on our shoulder....and we can sell young players like Ty that they have a shot to play early in Pullman and perhaps that is part of the attraction. So even without knowing much about them....we do know they will be in the mix to play early and possibly start, as will many of the recruits we hope to pull this class....even with the hinderence of our 1 star rating and complete lack of high pitches to sell right now....we will change that.. We pride ourselves in finding under the radar gems and developing talent, and we will. We also have very little at FS next season so he may start as a true frosh, at the very least see playing time as a back up As far as the K goes, he will be the lone one on our roster.
My whole point was that you have no clue that you found an under the radar gem. For all you know this dude is a 10 point bust.
Why all the concern? For all you know he isn't a 10 point bust.. Maybe he is, maybe not...who cares he is a Coug. I don't have the luxury of picking n choosing, honestly. He will play for us soon based on need (end of story) good enough for me. From now on I'll resist comment on our recruits as to what I think of them, I'll leave that up to others.
You're in a completely different boat - in need of upgrades almost everywhere. I wouldn't be spending much either scouting knowing these guys boom or bust will play early in their careers. Scouting comes into play when comparing targets/players when teams have the ability to spend the points, or when they get their coaching leveled up.
I'm completely confused by your responses. I guess I must not know how I sound. I'm not concerned and I didn't think I was being remotely mean. I was simply making conversation. I'm sorry if you took offense to what I wrote.
1. My first comment... Is a nothing comment, based on my current team roster. "Ty looks like an eventual starter." 2. Your response..... "How can you say that? You know practically nothing about him." 3. Followed by another nothing comment....jokingly stating... "We pride ourselves in finding under the radar gems" 4. Your response again... "My whole point was that you have no clue that you found an under the radar gem. For all you know this dude is a 10 point bust." Of course I don't....but seriously so what? Of course, common sense is that we have no clue....on how good or shitty he may be.....it was a harmless comment about a nobody 3 star FS that we landed who will most likely start for us in a season or two...that is a fact. Seriously though whatever..I am not mad.....lesson learned when it comes to hyping a recruit. So like I said, ill post the pics of the recruits Wazzu lands..for content purposes... and refrain from any sort of comment about what we think about them without concrete proof. No harm...Ill survive.
Welcome the first recruits for Mizzou. Both are top 10 nationally at their positions: Both guys on the defensive side of the ball. Depending on the development of the defense under coach Fmode Blalock might see some playing time next year in a LB heavy formation. Williams is likely to red-shirt next year. Both starting CB are seniors currently but there is some depth behind them in front of Williams. Cal backed out of chasing Williams early on, wise choice. With those titties, who wouldn't want to shove your face in those.
