So we have something to talk about aside from the rampant EA issues with the game....

This is something that I've been thinking about for a while, and based on discussions with other commishes, I'm making it against the rules to use line drive punts in bounds. For whatever reason, the PR's refuse to go adjust and catch the ball, and if they did they would get huge returns because the punts generally don't even go 35 yards and the tacklers are nowhere near the players when the ball should be getting caught.

You can use line drive punts to kick the ball out of bounds still (such as for coffin corner punts), but it must go out of bounds.

The safer route is to just not use the line drive punts anymore.

    Everyone got it?

I always try to punt out of bounds or sky it in the air, so no problems here.

Who is the violator? I haven't played anyone that I recall it being an issue with.

I agree completely with this rule. If you don't want to get beat by the return game, kick it out of bounds. Don't glitch the AI.

Dru50 is this in response to a vid that showed up in the E's forums?

Not entirely, no. I've seen it discussed in several places in the commish forum over the past 1-2 months as well.

oh we have a guy who was trying to show us what he was doing with his LB so we could tell him whether or not it was cheese, we found him doing a ton of stuff that wasn't kosher, like line drive punting...lol

Yeah I've been reading the thread. I thought it was gonna be highlights or some shit. Hellll no.

I did see that and was tempted to post something about him faking a blitz or blitzing with a LB who is supposed to be in zone coverage. That's been a no-no since NCAA 2009. But I decided against it because some of the guys over there take it personal when outsiders post in the Experience gameplay arguments, er, discussions.

But then jello brought up the exact point and all was right with the world.
