With Disappointing 0-4 Start, Giants Staff Says "Changes are Imminent"
After starting the season with 2 losses to the Pats and Jets with no coach on the sideline, the Giants have still dropped their last two, to defending NFC West Champion San Francisco and a heart breaking loss to division rival Washington. With Seattle next up, things continue to look bleak for New York.
The dismal start has the front office saying changes could likely happen to this NYG roster in the coming weeks."It is clear we have an issue somewhere that is affecting our play. You just can't win the division and then start out 0-4 the following year, especially after this team did nothing but upgrade in the offseason. That is not how it works," Head Coach Cimahosky stated after the teams loss to Washington. "Washington is a good team, no doubt about that, but we gave it up late and we should not have lost that game."
Frustrations can be seen all over the locker room, and no other is more noticeable than QB Eli Manning. He has already thrown 8 INTs in 4 games and has been completely off when throwing the ball. When asked if drafting a QB in the 5th round has him pressured to play, Eli walked by with no comment. Rookie QB Steven Adams has one appearance this season and that came against San Francisco, where he was able to orchestrate a scoring drive that ended with his first career NFL TD pass. Is a QB change going to happen in New York? Not likely. Not yet anyway. Our sources say the Giants are sticking with Manning, but this could all be because they don't want to throw Adams into the fire against Seattle. With the 31st ranked scoring offense, something needs to be done.
