49ers Outscore Saints, Move on to Super Bowl!
    49ers 31 Saints 24

The Niners came into this game as the #1 seed and the favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, and they did not disappoint the home crowd. Frank Gore and Vernon Davis were the key players for the 49ers victory in this game, Gore carried 23 times for 183 yards and 3 TDs, and Vernon Davis could not be stopped against man coverage as he caught 6 passes for 133 yards and a TD.
The game was tied at 7 until 1:20 left in the 1st half when Brees hit Colston for a 8 yard TD pass to put the Saints up 14-7. But the Niners would drive down the field quickly and Kaepernick found Vernon Davis on a 4 yard TD pass to tie the game at 14 before heading into halftime.
The Niners would receive the ball to start the 2nd half and would drive down the field and Gore found some running room and ran for a 25 yard score to put the Niners up 7. The Saints would answer back with a FG on their next drive, but on the Niners next offensive play, Gore would carry the ball off the right side, make 1 cut, and was gone for an 80 yard TD to put the Niners up 11 at 28-17 entering the 4th quarter. Each side would exchange punts, then the Saints would throw an INT to Reggie Smith, who made an outstanding 1 handed grab to set the Niners up in good field position. The Niners then milked the clock by giving the ball to Gore, but the drive eventually stopped and Akers kicked a 51 yard FG to put the Niners up 31-17 with only 2:20 left in the game. On the Giants final drive, the 49ers took a risk by blitzing but would end up being burned as Brees hit Henderson in 1-on-1 coverage, and he would break a tackle and run for 57 yard TD catch to bring the Saints within 1 score with 1:11 left in the game. With only 1 timeout remaining, the Saints had to try an onside kick, but Braylon Edwards would recover for the Niners and Kaepernick would take 3 knees to put the Niners into the Super Bowl!
