The Panthers are going to their 2nd superbowl as they beat the Eagles 34 - 31. The game started out all Eagles as the opening kickoff was returned for a touchdown. After a quick Cam Newton interception the Eagles made it 14 - 0. After that the Panthers were able to settle down and get in their rhythm and score a TD to make it 14 - 7 at the end of the 1st quarter. The teams then traded touchdowns to make it 21 - 14 halfway through the 2nd quarter. After the Eagles settled for a field goal the Panthers got the ball with about 3 minutes to go to try and cut into the Eagles lead. However, Cam Newton threw his second interception of the night giving the Eagles the ball back. The Panthers were able to get a quick stop however and got the ball back with 30 seconds to go deep in their own territory. With 8 seconds left in the half Cam Newton hit Ted Ginn for a 68 yard TD to make it 24 - 21 Eagles at the half. The Panthers got the ball at the beginning of the second half and drove down the field in a long drive that resulted in a field goal to tie the game up. On the ensuing drive Jon Beason picked off Nick Foles and returned the pick for a touchdown the put the Panthers up 31 - 24. The Eagles then sustained a long drive that ended in a touchdown to tie the game up with just under 2 minutes to play. The Panthers in their hurry up 2 minute offense perfectly executed play after play and took the ball down the field. With 2 seconds left the Panthers called a timeout and Graham Gano kicked a 42 yard field goal to seal the deal.

The game ball goes to Jon Beason for his pick six in the 4th quarter that gave the Panthers their first lead of the game.

Great game David, you deserved this one. Too many missed opportunities for my defense. Had the chance to put it away and couldn't. Plus that gift by Foles didn't help either. But great game needless to say. Good Luck in the bowl and represent the NFC. (y)
