Chicago Bears 2014 Preview
The No. 2 offense in the NFL last year looks to do it again.
QB: Jay Cutler - Smokin' Jay "Don't caaaaaaare" sealed his starting spot last season with a great year, good playoff outing and a monster 7-year contract. He most definitely is the man.
RB: Matt Forte - Lock up your daughters. Forte's in the prime of his career, and has improved 3 seasons in a row. Now if his GM can just learn how to juke, he'll be unstoppable.
WR: Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Santonio Holmes - the self-proclaimed "two best receivers" added a 3rd star in Santonio Holmes recently. Despite screwing the GM's fantasy league previous years, he is forgiven. Holmes will be back to his Pittsburgh-playing self in no time.
TE: Martellus Bennett: After a career-year in 2013, Bennett is back to join the WR monsters as yet another enormous target for Cutler.
After an embarrassing 2013, the Bears have a lot of new faces. Don't expect to win by running alone. Not again. Not this year.
DE\DL: Lamarr Houston, Jarad Allen, J Ratliff, Stephen Paea - Hello, new faces.
LB: Lance Briggs, DJ Williams, Shea McClellin - Not as great as the DL, but if Briggs can stay healthy we should be fine.
CB: Charles Tillman, Tim Jennings, Kyle Fuller - 1st round pick Kyle Fuller joins our vets to make our CB's seem pretty decent again this year.
S: Chris Conte(?) - Yikes. Hopefully no one will notice we still suck at Safety.
Huge PR/KR gap here after losing Hester to the Falcons. No one even knows who our returner will be.
K: Robbie Gould - Booya
P: Pat O'Donnell - Our behemoth Rookie Punter benched more than Clowney at the Combine. True story.
Good post, Lmao Chris conty is terrible
The Green Pay Packers look to recreate the 2010 season and win some Super Bowl rings.
QB: Aaron Rodgers. 'Nuff said. He'll be wanting to bounce back after missing a lot of last season with an injury. Looking to prove he's still the MVP.
Backs: Eddie Lacy proved he can be a great back after a slow start and a hot finish to last season. He has a more than decent back ups ready with James Starks and DuJuan Harris behind him. And of course KUUUUUUUHN. John Kuhn will get his goalline touches after signing a one year deal.
Receivers: Jordy Nelson is looking to light it up. With Aaron Rodgers lobbing it to him, Nelson will be have a lot of highlight plays. Randall Cobb might be pulled from return duty for safety reasons, but is an amazing number 2 receiver. Behind those two, its a toss up on the depth chart. Boykin and rookier Davante Adams will be fighting for the 3rd and 4th. At tight end, we may be looking to upgrade through trade or free agency as Quarless is the clear starter but not impressive.
Defensive Front: Clay Matthews is scary good and leads a good linebacker core with newly signed Julius Peppers on the opposite side. AJ Hawk and Brad Jones fill out the middle as a strong 3-4 defense. B.J. Raji is the star of the line with not a whole lot of talent. But theres promise there.
Defensive Backs: A scary trio of corners include Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, and Casey Heyward. Ballhawks. Setting the bar high and looking to lead the league in interceptions. Alabama safety draft pick Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix needs to prove he was worth being drafted as he will probably start at Free Safety and already proven Morgan Burnett will finish out the defense at strong safety.
The Packers are a team with very little weaknesses as they are solid almost everywhere. They will put up a great fight to win the NFC North.
I tweeted Donny Moore who told me Colt Lyerla cheese will be on Packers season roster as he was put on IR. Sounds like Colt doing his knee was best result for Madden owners
whoooaaa looking at his stats he might be the starter. that ovr is a little misleading
Yeh hes fine blue vein cheese
Bostick is pretty good too in Madden.
is Finely in the game? as a free agent probably?
Could be. From pure physicals standpoint, GB have one of the best TE tandems in Madden. Think of a years development for Bostick and Colt for cheaper XP stuff like RTE CTH CIT and SPC - they could be the new twin towers
Lyerla will be the new Michael Egnew-- only worth a shit as a receiver so dominant on Madden.
2014 Minnesota Vikings preview
QB: The reigns are going to be given to the rookie sensation Teddy Bridgewater, who somehow fell to the end of the 1st after a bad pro day before the draft
HB: In a shocker, Adrian Peterson will start . Look for rookie Jerrick McKinnon to take over the 3rd down role that was left open by Gerhart's departure
WR: Greg Jennings will start with Cordarrelle Patterson on the outside, the staff has high hopes for Patterson, with coach Zimmer calling him a lock for the Pro Bowl
TE: Kyle Rudolph will look to build on last season's success as the sole threat at TE with Rhett Ellison backing him up and playing a role similar to Jimmy Kleinsasser before his retirement
OL: The same core for last year that was a top 10 line comes back this year lead by Center John Sullivan and Right Tackle Phil Loadholt
DL: The Defensive line returns only one starter for last year in Brian Robison. However Everson Griffin looks primed to breakout with DT Sharrif Floyd, and the signing of Linval Joseph should give them a player type they have missed since losing Pat Williams
LB: Greenway will lead the Linbacker unit that will be the area of the defense that will need to step up the most with rookie Anthony Barr on the left and former Viking Jasper Brinkley returning to play in the middle
DB: New addition Captain Munnerlyn and second year player Xavier Rhodes will head up the cornerback spots and should be a solid duo to face this season. The big question mark will be if the Vikings can find a player to play opposite Harrison Smith at the safety spot
BEARS TROUNCE BILLS 38-13
The Bears started week 1 with a dominating win over the Bills. Cutler lived up his new $54-million contract by by throwing a league-leading 400+ passing yards and 4TD's/0 INT's with an incredible 147.6 passer rating.
Rumor has it the Bill's Owner was back on the phone attempting to move the team to another city by the end of the first half.
Vikings re-sign TE Kyle Rudolph
The former Notre Dame star will stay with the Vikings, signing a 4 year deal for 17.6M with a 4.4M bonus
Bears defeat 49er's 28-24
Behind by 3 points, with 0:20 seconds left in the 4th Quarter, Cutler scrambled 20 yards for his longest run and first rushing TD of the year, pulling ahead of the 49er's just enough for the victory.
GG CTfromDC , very close one
Final play of the drive:
You're new and this is just a teaching point, but you shouldn't drop back that far.
In Massive Signing Day, Chicago Bears Sign:
E. Reed, B. Lloyd, K. Orton, E. Benett, A. Brown
As the "S1 Free Agent" thread ended last week with Kasper's, "Just a reminder, free agency is a free for all now." The Bears did not hesitate.
Chicago immediately released:
And Immediately signed:
Kyle Orton (1 year, $890,000)
Earl Bennett (1 year, $730,000)
Andre Brown (1 year, $730,000)

"For the record, I have no idea why everyone waited so long," - Owner, Luke4
The Owner stated that his team is ready and excited to move forward. "Honestly, we're f***ing awesome," replied Brandon Marshall, when asked about the signings, "Nothing could stop us before, nothing will stop us now."
So who's going to knock this guy off his pedestal?
Packers Have Bounce Back Game at Home
After losing a close game in week one, Packers rout the New York Jets 27-0 in week two. There was a lot of game management and a lot of defense. Green Bay is 1-1 now and coming for that top division spot.

Eddie Lacy - 25 carries, 99 yds
Randall Cobb - 3 rec, 77 yds, 1 TD
Jordy Nelson - 3 rec, 40 yds

Alex Green - 4 carries, 20 yds
Jace Amaro - 5 rec, 50 yds
Jacoby Ford - 4 rec, 61 yds

Vikings release QB Matt Cassell after atrocious performance in New England. When asked, Coach Coleman reponded: "I wanted to go a new direction at QB and also give the veteran a shot at a job elsewhere in the league."
Much maligned former starter Christian Ponder will get the start against the Saints with newly signed second year player Matt Scott backing him up
loljk about coming for that number one spot
Out five weeks thanks to a sim
Vikings win 23-21 over Saints thanks to strong running
The Vikings went into New Orleans and knocked off the heavily favored Saints thanks in large part to a 98 yard game from Adrian Peterson. Newly promoted Christian Ponder managed the game as well, throwing for a touchdown and over 60% completion.
