With Jonnny Clutch stepping down I have decided to take over the NFW West blog (y)

Through week 8 and into start of week 9 here are the standings :

Seattle 4-4 (2-0) - holds tie breaker at 1-0 with St. Louis
    St. Louis 5-4 (3-1)
    San Fran 1-6 (0-3)
    Arizona 0-7 (0-1)

Rough go of it so far for our division , with two in season coaching changes to boot. We also have not benifited from the brutal schedule this year, playing the AFC East out of conference. One of us has to make the playoffs so we will see how it plays out.

Outlook rest of the way -

Seattle - Seahawks have a tough road ahead, non division opponents are 20-10 at this point in the season. Recent injuries to Lynch and Irvin will not help matters.

St. Louis - Same story here for the Rams, 21-9 record of non division opponents left on the schedule. Including the 7-1 Pats, formerly unbeaten Jets (your welcome) and the always sneaker Keller led Bills. The bright spot is 3-1 division record, if the Seahawks falter they can even the tie breaker.

San Fran - Well unless new coach Coniglio can make a stunning turn around this team is headed for a top 5 pick, the only question is will he let the Cardinals beat him twice so he can leap frog him in the draft.

Arizona - Somewhere Lions fans are waiting to crack open the 40oz and celebrate as the Cardinals are racing towards 0-16. The final 9 games are not going to be easy , the lone bright spot here is two games against the new 49er staff.

Players of the year to date :

    Offensive - (SEA) TE DeAngelo McClaine 37 rec 583 yards 6 TD's
Defensive - (STL) CB Janoris Jenkins - 25 tackles 5 INT (leads NFL)

Look for the next update after our next advance.

    "We still have a shot"
The new 49ers head coach Andre Conforti said this morning that his team still has a shot at making the playoff. He didn't say it was possible or how hard it could be, he just wanted to let everyone know that the fight aint over. "We still have a shot!", "We will go out there every single week and do our best to win the game. Losing is not an option, even if it allows to have a better spot in the coming draft".
