In what would be these two teams 6th match-up in 2 seasons, the NFC South division winning TB Buccaneers welcomed in the NFC South runner-up New Orleans Saints.

The Bucs got on the scoreboard first when HB Tyhre Pendleton would find paydirt from 2 yds out early in the 1st quarter. The big play on this drive was a 3rd down conversion where Bucs QB Kyler Barnes found WR Russell Shepard on the left sideline for the 51-yd catch and throw.

The Saints would answer back swiftly as QB Drew Brees would find TE Jimmy Graham all alone in the endzone for the TD pass. Big play on this drive was when on 3rd and short, Chef fooled the Bucs defense and hit a beautiful play action pass to WR Brandin Cooks for big yardage.

Unfortunately for the Saints this drive would be the only time that would garner them any points. The Bucs defense was able to take control of this game and force multiple Drew Brees interceptions and not let the vaunted Saints offense gather any kind of momentum. The Bucs offense would do just enough with a solid run game and was able to find the endzone 2 more times on the ground and once more through the air.

The hands-down MVP of this game was none other than 2016 QSF Defensive Player of the Year, MLB Lavonte David. David was able to haul in 3 Interceptions two of which were deep in Saints territory and lead to Bucs TDs. David finished the day with 6 tackles and 3 Ints.

    FINAL SCORE
    Bucs-28
    Saints-7
