    Nick Montana Chooses Washington

Four-star quarterback Nick Montana (6-3, 186, 4.6) from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian made one school very happy Tuesday night as he has made his college decision.

Montana had plenty of options as he had offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, Washington, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, Florida State, Maryland, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Ohio State.

But in the end, it was a Pac-10 program that got the commitment.

Four-star QB Nick Montana makes Husky fans happy with his pledge.
"Nick committed to Washington tonight," Oaks Christian coach Bill Redell said. "I think Nick made a great decision, and I think his family is happy with the decision."

I know. Everyone had him pegged for Alabama or Georgia. Critics are already hammering him saying that he picked Washington because of the lack of competition at QB? I will say this.. He picked a good team to try and turn around. 0-12 last year is a good program to try and turn around. I figure Washington will be picking up some Blue Chips just because of the Montana name at QB..Should be fun to follow

The Huskies?? Wow dont understand this one at all.

They have Jake Locker for two more years and he is a stud.

Locker is a stud, but when you are the Huskies, you take prospects when you can get them. I guess that ol' boy from USC got him to come up there so that he could groom him.

He is a senior this year. Will redshirt his first year and then start after Locker leaves with 4 years of playing time.

And, if he continues to play well, will probably enter the draft early.

We will see. Locker has had health issues in the past. I don't see him leaving early unless his intangibles show some improvement. He is a great physical specimen though. If he does have some injuries, he is a good candidate to petition and have a sixth year of eligibility.

-Yeah, Montana is in his Senior year of Highschool this year so Locker will be a Senior when Montana likely gets redshirted or plays backup to Locker.

-I agree drifterbub. Locker has really been having issues with health.

    - The best thing for the Huskies is that this will draw more attention to there program and hopefully help turn it around

Being a Pac-10 fan we need Washington to turn its program around. Its good for the league.
