Presented By ESPN's Drive to the Nat'l Championship
Coming to you Live from "The Big House" in Ann Arbor, Michigan
Our Game of the Week Features#2@#5
The Texas Longhorns are back in the Nat'l Championship race yet again, and are quickly gaining momentum, steamrolling through the first three weeks with impressive victories over Alabama, Iowa and Clemson. However going to The Big House is never an easy task. A win over a second top 5 team would give the Longhorns a major bid for a #1 ranking when the BCS polls come out, even though the defending champs have looked impressive themselves. The Offense: Texas will lean heavily on sr. rb Foswhitt Whittaker, who has tallied 363 yards already, along with 8 tds, half of his total from a year ago. He is a Heisman candidate. The Defense: The Longhorns have had incredible success in the sacks and turnovers forced, both of which they are in the top 10 nationally. However teams have been able to move the ball at times, and that is a concern for the UT coaches.Sleeper Player: Jr qb Garrett Gilbert. His stock has fallen a bit over the last 2 weeks, but with Whittaker doing the dirty work, his low numbers are misleading.
Michigan is back! Back in the top 5 and back in the hunt for a Nat'l Championship. The Maze and blue seemingly came out of nowhere the last 2 years to get in the top tier of an always solid Big 10 Conference, but the question is: Are the Wolverines for real? With the UM pedigree, the polls are always seemingly attempting to rank Michigan as high as they can, even in years past, when they haven't deserved it. Well 2011 is a chance for the Wolverines to prove that they deserve the reckognition, and a BCS bid once again. The first 3 weeks saw Michigan trounce VT, ND and Boise St.The Offense: Freshman phenom Devin Gardner has come in a set the offense ablaze, accounting for over 1100 yards of offense and 8 total tds in just a three game span. Denard who?The Defense: Michigan is having more trouble than Texas on the yards per game avg, but the turnovers are there, with 10 total and 7 sacks created. Sleeper Player: DB J Floyd is tied for a Nation leading 3 ints and will get to cover a passing attack that has been slowed down lately.

Coach Mexi is really intrigued this week with the Michgan-Texas game. "Well see how Michigan composes themselves in a big game." With Ohio St off the schedule this year, the Badgers chances for a Big 10 championship will be affected by the result of the Michigan game.
