My reward for winning the championship was a $2.3 mil increase in budget... I want this owner to die.
NeuroticTruth since Fuzzy was banned from TSO, just wanted to make sure the CPU takes Chunichi back over and their roster/sim strategy doesn't get fucked like we have seen on teams before.
For those of you in Nippon, I wanted to ask before I did anything just be sure nobody had a problem with it. I'm considering making a "fake" GM and taking over one of the Nippon teams with it, if that was ok with everyone else in Nippon. The team for any newcomers or anyone getting demoted would still be considered "open". I would more or less be running it vs the CPU as I feel it would help me keep more involved in whats going on day to do with the NBL. If anyone has a problem with this then I wont do it, I just wanted to run it by people in the league now to see how they felt about it.
I would likely be taking over Yomiuri. I also would like to point out that trading with me wouldnt be allowed.
I like the idea NT , I also feel like I learned more about the game taking over a hot mess rather than an already well structured team FWIW. I can't wait to get back into things once I get back up and running
With 6 of the first 27 picks, Tohoku knew they needed to get as much value out of their picks as possible. This became even more so when the draft class was revealed and there was a barely any talent available. Rumor going around it that almost all the baseball player quit the game to become professional Sake bomb drinkers. Round 1, pick 5: SS Tetsui Takano RH Age:20 Con: 60 Range: 10 Gap: 55 Errors: 9 Pow: 45 Arm: 5 Eye: 40 DP: 9 AvK: 80 Takano has all the makings of being the Golden Eagles SS of the future. Tetsui projects to be far more beneficial in the field and collecting hits than incumbent SS Yasuyuki Miyazaki who is only known for his power which he has never fully reached his potential in. Round 1, pick 13: SP Ogai Ogawa LH Age: 21 Stu: 55 Mov: 50 Con: 60 Curve: 55 Change: 65 Cutter: 50 Based on the current staff and prospects, Ogawa could be a potential #3 starter for the Golden Eagles, but will most like top out as a 4 or 5 for the team. Plus control paired with a plus curveball could get some batters swinging and missing. The lack of any thing fast really could hurt him in the future. He will definitely need to learn to trick batters and keep them off balance. Supplemental 1, pick 1: SP Yoritomo Nemoto RH, Age: 23 Stu: 55 Mov: 55 Con: 55 Fast: 60 Slider: 55 Cutter: 65 Nemoto needs to develop his current control more to be a threat of anything more than a 4 or 5 for Tohoku. If he gets all of his game working before he gets to much older he could challange Ogawa for that number three spot or develop into a nice bullpen piece. Supplemental 1, pick 3: 3B Takeshi Tamura LH, Age: 22 Con: 45 Gap: 45 Pow: 55 Eye: 40 AvK: 50 While Tamura is nothing to right home about, he is basically the same as current 3B Susumu Shiroi with a little less power. Shiroi is 31 and declining fast which will lead him to not being on the team next season. A year or two in the minors before he gets called up Tamura wont be the improvement needed at 3B but he will basically give us the same production until we find some one better to take over. Round 2, pick 4: CF Juro Kobayashi RH, Age: 20 Con: 45 Gap: 50 Pow: 40 Eye: 40 AvK: 50 Juro excells at defense in the outfield and could be almost as good as our Sato in the run game. He would be nothing more than a fourth OF for our team since the OF is probably the strongest area on our team. Kobayashi will be that defensive substitute and pinch running threat for the most part. Does he have a Dave Roberts moment in his future? Round 2, pick 6: SP Yasunari Watanabe RH, Age: 19 Stu: 50 Mov: 55 Con: 50 Fast: 60 Curve: 65 Change: 30 A fringe 5 starter prospect for the Golden Eagles. Will most likely become a staple piece in the bullpen instead as he doesn't have the stamina to go the distant. Still Watanabe is young so he might develop some more speed on his pitches or more stamina but only being 5'10" 175 lbs it is most likely he wont.
6 and 4 sim gets Tohoku back to above .500 at 55-54. Still 9 GB in the wild card. These top teams need to start losing. Lost another starter for the second sim in a row.
A 3-6 sim puts Tohoku to bed losing another 2 games in the wild card standings. .500 this year would be nice to achieve. Seibu is 8-2 in there last 10. I think the Lions have first place on lock. Hokkaido is only two games back but I don't think they will be able to catch up to Seibu who has been nearly unbeatable the last few sims.
The Swallowers have finally started playing ball with a 17-10 record over the last 27 games. Rascal has won his last 7 starts and Tobei is starting to put it together at C. He is now hitting .240 and with 21 Homers and 67 RBI's. If Noda can keep up his current pace (.342 avg in July, .429 avg in August) we could make a run for .500 and then see where we are. I think a wild card bid is out of the question.
Won 6 in a row and now I am on a 5 game losing streak. 3 of those loses came to Seibu which is my favorite to win the whole thing.
10-4 in September so far. Who ever said they saw that coming is a liar. Best part we only gained have a game on Seibu. I hate those Lions.
Stupid CPU. Trading Hirano for a shitty outfielder instead of just promoting one of the 3 prospects fucked Yokohama.
Previous owner won a championship and didn't trade a top 10 starter in the league for an OF who hit under .230 when he wasn't needed at all.
If I had to choose someone to take over my old team, it'd be this guy. ...Until he runs them into the ground.
