Some big names that I predict will most likely end up as a free agents after franchise tagging goes down.... TOP FA Starting Pitchers: John Lackey Ted Lilly Tim Hudson Scott Baker Jair Jurrjens Aaron Harang Chris Capuano Chris Narveson TOP FA Relief Pitchers: Fernando Salas Marc Rzepczynski Mike Adams Antonio Bastardo Jesse Crain Brad Lincoln Koji Uehara Scott Elbert Matt Gurrier Daniel Bard Rafael Betencourt Nate Jones TOP Position Players: 3b Alex Rodriguez SS Jimmy Rollins 2B Chase Utley 3B Aramis Ramirez OF Eric Young Jr OF Vernon Wells OF Carlos Gomez 3B Chris Nelson 1B Lance Berkman OF Norichika Aoki OF Torii Hunter DH David Ortiz C Jarrod Saltalamacchia OF Alfonso Soriano OF Ryan Ludwick SS Zack Cozart 3B Placido Polanco FEARLESS PREDICTION OF FIRST PICK IN 2014 RULE 5 Draft: CF ERIC YOUNG JR - Miami Marlins Teams with the hardest decisions to make... 1. Phillies : They have to keep Delmon Young and Cliff Lee in my opinion. That leaves them having to decide on keeping only 1 remaining player with Carlos Ruiz, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley eligible for free agency. Big changes in the future for the Fightin' Phils. 2. Rockies - Well, re-signing CarGo is a no-brainer. So is re-uping with Jorge De La Rosa. They need a 3B, so a tough choice has to be made between two up and coming guys in Chris Nelson and Jordan Pacheco ( I would lean towards Pacheco, but the difference between the two is razor thin). That also leaves EY JR a free agent, a really nice player just hitting his prime. Tough luck first free agent period for Colorado. 3. Brewers - Aramis Ramirez has to be let go. Do they decide to keep their insanely talented young starting rotation together (Rogers, Gallardo and Fiers) or do they let one of those three walk to keep Carlos Gomez or Norichika Aoki, two very good outfielders. Decisions, decisions. Just some food for though heading into the season. Not the best free agent pool (2015 looks sick). LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SEASON STARTING!
