    Notre Dame Fighting Irish Recruiting

Notre Dame signed its first recruit of the year this week - fullback Andy Powell. While not a highly-rated recruit, Powell's combination of running, catching and blocking abilities will fit in well in Coach RK's system. Fullback can be a tough spot to recruit at, so this will also free up a fair chunk of time to pursue other players.

well done. sounds like he's got the trifecta of skills that a good fullback needs.

The Fighting Irish are happy to announce that another player has signed on with Notre Dame: :4stars: Punter Brian Brown, the #2 punter in the nation.

"What?" Coach RK replied, "we need a punter. And the last thing you want is a crappy punter - that'll lead to bad field position time after time."

Guard Calvin Webb out of Ohio has commited to the Fighting Irish. A 4-star recruit and the #16 G prospect, Webb is reported to have been so swayed by Notre Dame tradition that he didn't even make a campus visit.

Too bad recruiting for ND in real life isn't nearly as easy as it is on this game. In 09 it was almost painful how easy it was to rack up top recruits with ND.
