The Raiders welcomed the Bills to town to open the 2015 season and Oakland looked like a completely different team literally and figuratively from seasons past. Rookie QB Kian McKenzie who was taken #4 overall didn't play like a Rookie. McKenzie didn't set the world on fire yardage wise but his decision making was spot on. He made the right reads, threw accurate passes and he was able to find the open receivers when needed. McKenzie threw the ball 14 times completing 9 of those for 169 yards and 1 touchdown. His lone TD pass was Titus Young's lone reception.....a 61 yard catch and run. Backup RB Taiwan Jones had an impressive day running the ball as well. Splitting carries with superstar RB Darren McFadden, Jones out performed McFadden. Both carried the ball 14 times with Jones gaining 74 yards to McFadden's 45. As a result Jones will see much more playing time in the weeks to come. Oakland scored twice on the ground in this one, Tawian Jones started off the games scoring and FB Marcel Reece scored from a yard out in the second half. It wasn't only the offense that played well, the defense stepped up too forcing 6 turnovers, 3 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries. Up 7-0 after Jones' TD run, newly acquired CB Chris Culliver picked off Buffalo's Danny Martens' first pass and after that things quickly went downhill for Buffalo. Following a FG putting the Raiders up 10-0, the Bills would then fumble the following kickoff and Oakland would kick another FG as a result. After McKenzie's TD pass to Young the Raiders went into halftime with a 20-0 lead. In the second half, Oakland would capitalize on another Buffalo turnover when FB Reece scored from a yard out. Tack on few more Buffalo turnovers and another Janikowski FG and there you have it, Oakland wins 30-0. Great game Aaron, I seemed to get all the breaks in this one. As always it was a pleasure.
