Oakland comes into the 2012 season with a brand new perspective, the silver and black attack are under new management after the passing of former owner Al Davis.
Oakland looks to return to prevalence after a run of middle of the road finishes, finishing 2011 8-8 and finishing third in the division. Oakland has new leadership under center after the trade for Carson Palmer has a true quarterback under center for Oakland. Returning for the Raiders will be Darren McFadden at running back who has shown flashes of brilliance and break away speed. Oakland has had a good running game and will look to keep McFadden healthy and get some carries in for Michael Bush who has shown to be able to carry the load. However, there is change in the offensive line, with Robert Gallery out in Seattle the Raiders now have Bruce Campbell starting at RG with rookie Stefen Wisniewski starting at LG. Oakland looks to like it's young G's but remains to be seen how they will play. Campbell played well last year and the Raiders hopes he plays well this year. Oakland in the 5th round of the draft selected WR Denarius Moore out of Tennessee and has shown flashes of brilliance and should be a good compliment to the vast depth at wide receiver that the Raiders possess.

Oakland did not have a 1st or 2nd round pick but on the second day of the draft Oakland selected DeMarcus Van Dyke to help aid in the secondary. Oakland also was able to acquire picks from New England and got Joseph Barksdale for their offensive line. Oakland went with Chidi Chekwa out of Ohio St as another defensive back to help with the secondary. Oakland was sending a clear message with these picks as they were looking to build for the future that did not include Nnamdi Asomugha who the Raiders lost to free agency to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Raiders were looking to build in the secondary. Oakland still has Chris Johnson and Stanford Routt at CB and the Raiders are looking for Routt and S Michael Huff and Tyvon Branch to lead the secondary. Richard Seymour leads the defensive line and Kamerion Wimbley, Aaron Curry at the outside linebacker position and being lead in the middle by Rolando McClain. Oakland expects strong play by their linebackers and are looking for Curry to show why he had been drafted as the number 3 player in the draft and are looking for him to revitalize his career.
On special teams, Oakland has arguably the three best three special teamers, in Jacoby Ford, who is explosive in the return game. Shane Lechler who year in and year out has been the best punter in the league and looks to help Oakland keep teams pinned back deep and the man with an iron foot Sebastian Janikowski who has made some long and incredible kicks for the Raiders and pretty much anything on the opponents side of the 50 and he should have a chance to make it into points.
No one can say their is a better set of fans then the fans in "The Blackhole" the Raider nation fans have been the best set of fans for years, and now hopefully the Raiders will give them something to cheer for!
Raiders look to improve on their 3rd place performance and look to get back into the hunt for the AFC West title and finally crack the .500 barrier, all we know is that it's about to get real exciting in Oakland.
