So in the midst of getting my team ready for a potential playoff run ive also started thinking of the next season...as most of you should be doing now.

Im sure several owners have a few ?'s as to how things will be managed and overall just get done.

Im starting this thread to open up ?'s regarding the offseason such as Draft, Trades, Resigns, etc...

Im sure Doug, Jim or Eddie will be able to help us with there knowledge.

    Now....for my 1st ?

REGARDING THIS SEASONS FA SIGNINGS...theyve all signed to 1 year contracts. So what does that mean as far as keeping them with the squad? Are we going by last seasons rule such as resigning anyone under an 80ovr with no limitations?

How long of a break are we going to have in between seasons?

That all depends on how fast people get their stuff done, usually it takes about a week or less

Taken from the rules page, it appears that it is up to you who you want to re-sign & if you're even able to. In-season FAs that were picked up I believe are available for re-signing at the end of the season just like any other player w/ 1 year left on their deal.

    RE-SIGNINGS

    RS.1 RE-SIGNINGS

THERE ARE NO LONGER ANY LIMITATIONS REGARDING YOUR RE-SIGNINGS OTHER THAN WHAT YOUR PLAYER DEMANDS ARE WITHIN THE GAME. With the implementation of CCM online, we will no longer be required to govern your in-season or off-season re-signings. The re-signing logic within the game is far superior, and therefore, we will let the online franchise dictate your re-signings for you. The league staff reserves the right to revisit this topic upon the completion of the first few seasons.

Yes it does. Player XP stays with a player until it is applied.

KJ Wright has some serious trade value then with 45K worth of XP.

I think my age or stupidity or a combo there of are showing.I'm not getting this skip a year and how it works. So will we have 2 drafts this offseason, the guys we scouted I assume are for the skipped year. How are teams making deals involving picks or players when you aren't sure if that player retires or really regresses?Personally I think I messed up my team,I resigned guys I wanted to keep but didn't think about resigning guys that had 2years left since we are skipping a year. Will I have a chance to sign guys yet or has that passed?

Thanks Zo...seems like it's going to be awhile before we get to play again...not sure I like this 2-4 week break for non playoff teams in the middle of the schedule, sort of kills the momentum of the league to me JMHO

It wont be this long next time around, Sandy really messed things up.

Also, it will serve a good period to hone your skills and come back, kick ass, and surprise a few people. ;)

If that storm hadn't happened, we'd likely be in the offseason right now.

The whole timeline was thrown off by Hurricane Sandy.
