    Gentlemen,

To aide with book keeping, and make it easier to keep track, we will again be utilizing tags with the year in the titles for trades and position change threads.

However to make things a little less cumbersome we will go back to using the traditional method for calculating the off-season year. In the last couple of off-seasons we attempted to follow the Franchise's definition for the year of the off-season, but I feel like this led to confusion for many.

    Example (Old Procedure):

After the Super Bowl that followes the 2015 season; the will game refer to the entire following off-season as the 2015 Off-Season, even though it would all technically take place in the 2016 calendar year.

    Example Thread Title:

    TRADE (2015-Off & 2016-reg): Seahawks & Bills

In our own league definitions for trade allotments, we say the new "season" starts immediately following the Super Bowl. That is what we base our trade counts on, and that is when they are reset.

Going forward, that is the procedure we will use when referring to the off-seasons.

    Example (New Procedure):

After the Super Bowl that follows the 2015 season; we will immediately begin the 2016 off-season (because it all will take place during the 2016 calendar year). BUT in the franchise it will still be called the 2015 Off-Season on the various screens.

    Example Thread Title:

    TRADE (2016): Seahawks & Bills

I feel like less people will be confused by this, than were by the previous way we did it. Too some this may make no difference at all. Ultimately I think this is just an easier procedure for the purposes of book keeping (thread titles, trade counts, etc). As always, I will amend thread titles to follow the proper format, but feel free to save me the effort when creating your new threads. ;)

    Thanks,

    ~Jim
